Chapter 366: Chapter 365: The Unfettered Guild Badge

’There’s no point in dwelling on such questions. I’ve also obtained plenty of items that others don’t have.’

Seraphina Sinclair pushed the useless thoughts aside.

’Luck is also a part of one’s strength, especially in a world so full of unknowns and opportunities.’

’The fact that I’ve survived this long and accumulated what I have is also inseparable from the blessings of good fortune.’

After carefully stowing the three C-level scrolls, only two things were left on the floor.

An oddly shaped badge and a blood-soaked Bone Nail.

Seraphina Sinclair picked up the badge first.

[The Unfettered Guild Badge]

[Description: Special Item, no level. A Badge forged from a lightweight, silvery-white alloy and several unknown azure feathers, shaped like folded wings. Its edges shimmer with a faint, pale-blue light. The Unfettered Guild’s original purpose was to bring convenience to all its followers, a principle it truly upheld throughout its long history!]

[Trait: When the owner uses tokens, scrolls, runes, Potions... or any other item that requires a specific form of activation, they can bypass all mandatory activation methods. A silent thought is all that is needed to use them!]

Seraphina Sinclair’s gaze was riveted to the [Trait] at the end of the description. It was as if a giant boulder had been thrown into the calm lake of her heart, instantly stirring up massive waves.

Bypass all activation methods, use with a single thought!

’What does this mean?’

’It means that when facing sudden danger, I can skip all the redundant actions that might cause even a 0.1-second delay—tearing a scroll, crushing a token, uncorking a Potion...’

’Every activation will be completed the instant the thought arises!’

In a life-or-death battle, the gap of a few tenths of a second is often the chasm between life and death!

She could parry an attack with her blade in one hand while simultaneously activating Stone Skin Armor with a mere thought.

She could, at the very moment an enemy thought she was exhausted, silently activate a Swift Scroll and burst forth with astonishing speed to land a killing blow!

She could even summon a Stoneplate Boar with a thought while surrounded, disrupting the tempo of the battlefield...

The strategic value of this seemingly insignificant Badge, in certain situations, might even surpass that of a powerful B-level Weapon.

"The Unfettered Guild... ’unfettered,’ so this is what it means," Seraphina Sinclair murmured to herself, her fingertips feeling the cool, pale-blue light flowing along the Badge’s edge.

’Shatterer had this. That must be how he was able to use the Stone Skin Scroll almost seamlessly in the arena!’

Suppressing her racing thoughts, Seraphina Sinclair took a deep breath, gripped the Badge, and tried to use a Bull’s Strength Potion stored inside her Silver Moon Earrings.

’Use,’ she thought silently.

A long moment passed... Nothing happened.

The Gloom Hatchling stared, unblinking, at its master, who stood frozen in place. When Seraphina Sinclair looked up, her eyes met its confused ones.

Seraphina Sinclair: "..."

’How embarrassing. I’m making a fool of myself in front of a dragon.’

’Fortunately, this little guy and I don’t speak the same language, and its brain isn’t very big. It probably has no idea what I’m doing.’

Seraphina Sinclair looked at the Badge in her hand, puzzled.

’Shatterer could use it, so there’s no reason I can’t.’

’Unless... is it because Shatterer was a member of that guild? Could the Badge have been bound to him?’

’And by killing him, ownership of the Badge transferred, but the right to use it didn’t?’

’That would be too strange.’

As Seraphina Sinclair speculated wildly, she casually took out the Potion she intended to use.

Although this Potion was only E-level, it was the only one Seraphina Sinclair possessed that could increase attribute points.

If it weren’t for Pretty Guardian being able to provide a steady supply, Seraphina Sinclair would have been truly reluctant to use it for an experiment.

At this thought, Seraphina Sinclair’s mind drifted to the Water Dragon Roar.

The Water Dragon Roar was a B-level Weapon. Although it had two Skills, it didn’t offer any attribute bonuses.

Her D-level Gray Long Blade of Mist increased her Strength by seven points. While anyone would know what to choose when comparing an attribute bonus to a high-tier Skill, Seraphina Sinclair still felt a tinge of regret.

People are greedy by nature, and Seraphina Sinclair was no exception.

’It’s my own weapon. Of course, I want it to be as perfect as possible.’

Returning to the present, Seraphina Sinclair gripped the Badge and tried again.

’If this doesn’t work either, I’ll have to put the Badge away for now and wait until tomorrow morning to ask the waiter, or until I meet some other condition to use it in the future.’

But this time... it worked.

The Potion in her hand dissolved into specks of light. Seraphina Sinclair opened her personal panel, and her Attributes had indeed increased—the Potion had taken effect!

After the excitement came analysis.

’Before, I couldn’t use the Potion when it was in the Silver Moon Earrings, but I could after taking it out.’

’In other words... the Badge does offer convenience, but it’s not *that* convenient.’

To use an item, Seraphina Sinclair still had to go through the troublesome step of taking it out of her Silver Moon Earrings.

Still, compared to before, the Badge’s effect was quite significant, especially for using scrolls.

Just as Seraphina Sinclair composed herself and was about to inspect the final item, a message came from Pretty Guardian, whom she hadn’t heard from in a long time.

"’Speak of Cassian, and he appears,’" Seraphina Sinclair muttered, but still opened the private chat to read the message.

[Pretty Guardian]: Boss! Boss! A Space Crystal. This, this, do you want it? I remember the last time I got one of these, I traded it to you.

’A Space Crystal?’

Seraphina Sinclair’s breath hitched. ’This is great stuff!’

This was the item that had allowed her to expand the space in her Silver Moon Earrings last time.

Although it was only E-level, so much time had passed, yet Seraphina Sinclair had never come across another one, nor had she seen it on the regional channel or in anyone else’s possession.

To think she would see one again, and from Pretty Guardian, of all people.

Pretty Guardian seemed well aware of the item’s rarity and Seraphina Sinclair’s strength. After some brief haggling, the trade was officially completed, and the item was now in Seraphina Sinclair’s hands.

The Space Crystal was exceptionally rare. Seraphina Sinclair didn’t just want this one crystal; she also wanted to know where they came from.

She asked with genuine sincerity, offering to trade supplies for the information.

Pretty Guardian, however, didn’t accept anything and insisted that it came from a Supply Box.

Seraphina Sinclair, of course, didn’t believe it.

’This person has some conscience, at least. They won’t take payment for telling a lie.’

But Seraphina Sinclair understood. The excuse was flimsy; if it really came from a Supply Box, it would be impossible for her to have only ever seen them from Pretty Guardian.

’Besides, my strength is obvious. If Pretty Guardian took my supplies and then fobbed me off with such a line, they’d risk retaliation from me in the future when I eventually learned the truth.’

’Their approach was actually a pretty good way to handle it.’

Seraphina Sinclair didn’t say anything more. She simply pinched the Space Crystal and used it.
