Survive in the Black Mist: My Sunflower Can Navigate
Chapter 346: Who Exactly Is Fayestar
Chapter 346: Chapter 346: Who Exactly Is Fayestar
"Naive. If it were that simple, someone would’ve done it long ago. Believe it or not, the first person to publicly protest will immediately receive an arena challenge."
"So this won’t work, and that won’t work. Are we just supposed to wait to die?"
"At least... let’s see what the reward is this time. What if we can get something good out of it?"
"Dream on. The drop rate for that thing has to be abysmally low..."
Seraphina Sinclair quietly watched the text scroll rapidly past in the Zone channel. It was like watching a swarm of insects trapped in a glass jar: agitated, colliding, and tearing at each other, yet fruitlessly searching for a crack that didn’t exist.
She knew this metaphor would sting quite a few people.
But the gap between them, whether in resources or progress, had already grown far too wide.
After entering this world, blueprints, due to their unique nature, became the resource that was most quickly snatched up.
If someone had asked Seraphina Sinclair how to obtain blueprints right after they entered this world, she would have said it probably required a bit of luck and, beyond that, a sufficient number of moves.
But if someone were to ask Seraphina Sinclair how to obtain blueprints now, she too would be at a loss, because she hadn’t found a single blueprint in a Supply Box for a very long time.
But she knew of another way to get blueprints—a path that required risking one’s life.
The Black Mist Coliseum stood there silently, welcoming every warrior who dared to accept its challenge.
Perhaps it was because their ability to adapt was poor when they first entered this world, or perhaps because they had slacked off and hadn’t moved every day. Regardless, the gap had already widened. To catch up to the progress of the survivors ahead...
Fighting with everything you had was the best way.
Seraphina Sinclair knew that most of the people speaking in the Zone channel seemed to be alive and well, but in reality, death already hung over their heads like a Sword of Damocles.
It could be a monster entering their cabin during a move, a bad run in an instance, or a simple injury. Surviving in this world was, in itself, a difficult thing.
She knew even better that such a sword hung over her own head as well.
In a way, she was no different from those people. They were all ships sailing on a vast ocean. Some were just canoes, others were rafts, while she, being slightly better off, was merely a boat.
What made her feel worse was that, for the others, the swords hanging over their heads were invisible and intangible.
But the sword above her own head was very much real and present at this very moment.
As her thoughts reached this point, Seraphina Sinclair’s gaze subconsciously shifted to the Gloomdrake, curled up asleep in the corner.
It had grown quite a bit bigger than before.
This meant Seraphina Sinclair had to race against time to grow stronger. Otherwise, what awaited her was...
Seraphina Sinclair let out a cold laugh, infused one hundred sunshine into her door card, and began today’s move.
The black mist hadn’t surged in yet when the announcement for the distribution of instance Evaluation rankings was finally released.
[Based on the above criteria, the distribution of Evaluation results for this official instance in the Drakonian Sector, Zone 666 is as follows:]
[F-level Evaluation: 958 people!]
[E-level Evaluation: 2,121 people!]
[D-level Evaluation: 1,075 people!]
More people received E-level and D-level Evaluations than F-level.
Seraphina Sinclair wasn’t surprised by this result. After all, this was the third official instance. Even those who had been slacking off the whole time should have figured out a thing or two by now.
What was worth noting was that the first three tiers of this instance, when added together, already totaled over four thousand people—eighty percent of the remaining survivors in the Zone.
Seraphina Sinclair continued to read.
[C-level Evaluation: 788 people!]
The number of people with C-level and D-level Evaluations wasn’t that different, but compared to the sea of people in the first three tiers combined, reaching this position already marked one as part of the elite.
[B-level Evaluation: 290 people!]
[A-level Evaluation: 48 people!]
[S-Class Evaluation: 2 people!]
Seeing the last two lines, Seraphina Sinclair’s gaze sharpened.
Only two people in the entire Zone had received an S-Class Evaluation.
One of them was her. The other, it went without saying, was Fayestar.
Lyra Lowell’s posts in the Zone channel had already convinced many people. After he was silenced by an arena challenge, his words became an undeniable fact.
Now that the numbers for each Evaluation level were out, it provided circumstantial evidence that what Lyra Lowell said was true. Consequently, the discussion in the Zone channel about the two mysterious top players grew even more fervent.
Seraphina Sinclair glanced at the Zone channel again. After confirming there was no more valuable information, she opened the group chat created by Chrona.
As expected, it was bustling with activity here as well.
"Two S-Class. Looks like that person who dropped the bombshell in the Zone channel was telling the truth."
"How could it not be the truth? He was taken out for saying it."
"Those two have to be in our group chat, right? Wanna take a guess who?"
"I think... one of them has to be Master Blacktiger. There’s no way Master Blacktiger didn’t get an S, right? Didn’t I hear someone say that Master Blacktiger always got S-Class Evaluations in previous instances?"
"That wasn’t for an instance Evaluation; it was his survivor Evaluation on the leaderboards. Anyway, Master Blacktiger is still a badass."
"A high survivor Evaluation doesn’t mean you get a high instance rating. My Evaluation is S too, so how come I didn’t get an S score for the instance?"
"Give me a break. You know perfectly well how inflated your S Evaluation is. If you ask me, one of these two S-Class players has to be Master Artemis. Everyone’s seen how strong Master Artemis is. People like Seawatch or Zane Pierce are nothing in front of her! Master Artemis is the undisputed number one!"
Everyone in the group chat knew who that comment was indirectly aimed at.
Seraphina Sinclair had no interest in arguing with this person. She just pretended she hadn’t seen the message and kept scrolling.
"I agree, Master Artemis has to be one of them. So who’s the other one? Blacktiger? Mountainwind? Or Cloudmute? We all know it’s definitely not one of us."
"Hey, if you’re gonna guess, can you leave out that last sentence? It kinda hurts."
Just then, the very people they were talking about spoke up:
[Cloudmute]: I only got an A.
[Mountainwind]: I got an A too. Why are you guys even guessing me? Isn’t everyone here stronger than I am? I gotta say, the people in this group chat Chrona made are all high-class. Just look at how humble everyone is.
The moment he spoke, the serious discussion ground to a halt. A few of the more tactful members started exchanging pleasantries, and just like that, there was no more valuable information to be found.
Seraphina Sinclair thought for a moment, then silently closed the group chat.
’Just who is Fayestar?’
The people in the group chat were wondering, and so was she.
Before Mountainwind spoke up, the others’ speculations weren’t without reason.
Though they were all considered top players, they each had their own internal ranking based on their survivor Evaluations.
Seraphina Sinclair had triple-S ratings in several categories, making her the undisputed number one.
Counting down from there...
Weren’t the next ones in line just Artemis, Mountainwind, and Cloudmute?
