Survive in the Black Mist: My Sunflower Can Navigate
Chapter 341: 90% Confidence
Chapter 341: Chapter 341: 90% Confidence
Fayestar was so taken aback by this that she was at a loss for words. She stared at Seraphina Sinclair for a long moment before finally forcing out through gritted teeth, "Serafelle Sinclair, you’d better not die in there."
She spoke through clenched teeth, but her words carried a hint of concern.
Seraphina Sinclair stared back at her for a while, confirming that the concern she’d detected wasn’t just her imagination.
’Perhaps it’s because I saved her life,’ she thought, ’and she doesn’t like owing anyone a favor. That must be why she said it.’
Seraphina Sinclair stood up, did a few simple stretches, and replied, "This time is different. This time, I’m ninety percent sure."
’She had dared to gamble with only a ten percent chance; there was no reason to be timid with ninety percent certainty.’
Fayestar’s eyes lit up. "Really?"
Though she asked, the look on her face showed she already believed it.
To this question that sought reassurance, Seraphina Sinclair showed uncharacteristic patience. "What you need to do is ensure your own safety as much as possible while you sever the monster’s tentacles."
As she spoke, Seraphina Sinclair glanced at the wound on Fayestar’s leg.
Fayestar followed her gaze down to her own leg. She frowned at once, her expression turning grave. After a moment’s thought, she pulled another Healing Potion from her boot, unhesitatingly twisted off the cap, and tilted her head back to drink it.
The dark bruises on her leg immediately faded quite a bit.
The effect of this Healing Potion was even more pronounced. Only a faint mark remained on her leg, looking like a slight blockage that hadn’t been fully cleared.
Now, it certainly wouldn’t affect Fayestar’s movements.
As Fayestar pulled open her boot, Seraphina Sinclair saw that she had a half-circle of Potions tucked inside.
’This woman is pretty interesting.’
It wasn’t that Seraphina Sinclair had never seen people bring Potions into a dungeon, but they usually carried a small bag, wore a tactical vest, or put on a waistcoat with extra pockets.
Someone like Fayestar, who stuffed so many into her boots, was one of a kind.
However, it also indirectly demonstrated her professionalism.
Seraphina Sinclair sighed inwardly once again. ’As expected, no one who can hold the number one or two spot in the Zone is ordinary.’
"Alright," Fayestar’s gaze swept past Seraphina Sinclair and once again fell on the increasingly impatient Rotsea Emberfiend. "You won the gamble with a ten percent chance. With ninety percent... I’ll bet with you one more time!"
"Serafelle Sinclair, don’t you let me down."
She spoke this line softly, but it was laden with great hope.
Seraphina Sinclair followed her gaze to the slightly berserk Rotsea Emberfiend and gave one last instruction: "Protect yourself."
If it were anyone else, they would probably be moved by her instruction.
But Fayestar knew clearly that Seraphina Sinclair was just afraid that if she died, the rewards would be greatly diminished.
She curled her lips into a smile, not a trace of displeasure on her face. Instead, her gaze toward Seraphina Sinclair held a glimmer of mutual appreciation, as if looking at a kindred spirit.
Seraphina Sinclair took out several Attribute-boosting Potions she had acquired from Pretty Guardian and unreservedly gave one to Fayestar.
As the Potion went down, a gentle yet powerful warmth surged through their limbs.
Seraphina Sinclair could clearly feel her Strength and agility increase to a certain degree.
Fayestar obviously had the same feeling. She gripped her dagger, her gaze growing even sharper.
"Go!"
This time, Fayestar didn’t charge in recklessly.
She took a deep breath, her figure flickering like a phantom. Following an extremely erratic and unpredictable path, she was the first to rush into the room!
The Rotsea Emberfiend was instantly activated. All its tentacles immediately changed direction, bringing with them a poisonous mist as they whipped toward Fayestar in an overwhelming onslaught! The concentration of the toxic mist intensified, and the tentacles’ speed and power seemed to have grown even more frenzied from being invaded again!
Fayestar pushed her agility to its absolute limit.
She no longer sought to inflict substantial damage on the monster. Instead, she moved like a butterfly flitting between flowers, weaving through the gaps between the tentacles and the toxic mist. Her dagger became flashes of cold light, striking at cunning angles, specifically targeting the weak points where the tentacles connected to the main body or the still-tender, newly regenerated tissue!
Whether the beast lived or died didn’t matter; Fayestar had only one goal!
Annoy it to death!
"SHLIIICK!" "SQUELCH!"
Every time her dagger sliced through, it flicked away a trail of dark green ichor and a small piece of rotten flesh.
Although she couldn’t sever the tentacles outright like before, this kind of continuous and precise, "death by a thousand cuts" style of attack had a similar effect.
The Rotsea Emberfiend let out increasingly frantic roars. More pustules burst, spreading the toxic mist, and its writhing tentacles formed a nearly impenetrable thicket!
The pressure on Fayestar skyrocketed. She had several close calls, barely dodging by relying on her superb reflexes and the speed boost from the potion.
She gritted her teeth and pushed her speed to the limit, even deliberately revealing openings to bait the tentacles into attacking. Then, at the last possible second, she would narrowly evade, causing several tentacles to whip into each other with excessive force or slam against the walls!
The entire room was a vortex of chaos—toxic mist churned, tentacles danced wildly, and roars echoed without end.
And in the midst of this extreme chaos, Seraphina Sinclair charged in after her.
Unlike the conspicuous Fayestar, she suppressed her presence to a minimum. Following the principles of Basic Concealment, she hid her aura completely. Her footsteps were as light as a cat’s as she moved along the shadows at the edge of the room, slowly but surely circling toward the rear flank of the Rotsea Emberfiend’s bloated main body.
On her chest, the Sunflower in the small leather pouch was growing slightly hot. Its head uncontrollably tried to turn toward the monster, its eager emotions clearly transmitted to her mind.
"Yummy... So much... Smells so good..."
Seraphina Sinclair’s heart pounded powerfully in her chest. She gripped the Abyssfrost Watersplitter Spear tightly, its tip pointed diagonally at the ground, her eyes locked on the massive body looming in and out of view amidst the toxic mist and shadowy tentacles.
Closer... even closer...
She could smell the nauseatingly thick stench of decay, feel the slight sting and mental interference from the toxic mist, and hear the whoosh of swinging tentacles and Fayestar’s ragged breaths.
Now!
To evade the encirclement of several tentacles, Fayestar executed an extreme backflip, perfectly drawing the attention of most of the tentacles to the other side of the room!
A sharp glint flashed in Seraphina Sinclair’s eyes. Spiritual Power erupted from her legs, and she shot out from the shadows like an arrow released from its bow. Her spear pierced through a tentacle like a precision bullet.
The severed tentacle twitched twice on the floor before falling still.
The Rotsea Emberfiend let out a roar of both shock and fury. Several tentacles frantically coiled back, attempting to regrow the severed limb.
In that critical instant, the Sunflower’s head shot out like a great beast’s, its two deceptively fragile leaves clamping tightly onto the Rotsea Emberfiend’s tentacle.
