Chapter 310: Chapter 310: Compressed Energy Block

’I have to get to the bottom of this first.’

She thought for a moment before sending a message in the group chat:

[Blacktiger Ford]: Selling the Path Boss’s weakness. Comes with two useful runes.

After Seraphina Sinclair sent the message, the group chat fell silent for a brief moment.

Someone couldn’t help but exclaim, "That’s Master Blacktiger for you! She already took care of the Path Boss."

"Master, is this info legit? If it really works against the boss, I’ll buy it right now!"

"And it comes with two useful runes? With all this stuff, does that mean we can easily take down the boss just by getting your package, Master?"

Seraphina Sinclair wasn’t the least bit modest. She replied, "As long as you’re not an idiot, taking down the boss without getting hurt shouldn’t be too hard with my information and runes."

Her words carried her usual confidence, bordering on arrogance. Yet, strangely, they managed to reassure many in the group. Compared to the vague conspiracy theories about the "number two hunter’s" death, a walkthrough from a top-tier expert who had already defeated the Path Boss was undoubtedly more tangible.

For the survivors in the group chat, any of whom could run into the boss at any moment, the need for this information was naturally far more urgent.

Immediately, several people sent her private messages asking for the price.

Seraphina Sinclair didn’t reply to them one by one. Instead, she posted a clear price in the group chat: "Weakness info + two Heavenly Light Runes, package deal: any ten D-level materials."

The price was surprisingly fair, even cheap.

Although D-level materials were still relatively rare at this stage, it wasn’t too difficult for the players who had made it into this group to gather ten of them.

Immediately, even more people were tempted.

"Master Blacktiger is so generous!"

"I’ll take one!"

"I sent a PM, Master, please accept!"

Trade requests flooded in, and Seraphina Sinclair accepted them all.

In just a few moments, she had completed over a dozen trades.

The D-level materials people offered up for trade were a motley collection.

The most common, of course, were compressed energy blocks. You got five at a time when you found them, making them the most frequently seen material.

From these trades alone, Seraphina Sinclair received over a hundred of them.

They piled up into a small mountain inside her Silver Moon Earrings, leaving Seraphina Sinclair a bit dazed.

She remembered that the blueprint for her Basic Training Room only required 100 compressed energy blocks.

Seraphina Sinclair had thought it would take her a long time to collect them all, but she’d gathered enough just like that.

Now, the only thing she needed to build the Basic Training Room was Iron Ingots.

She had previously dismantled a Holy Dagger and gotten five Iron Ingots, so she only needed five more.

Besides those, there were materials from monsters—or prey, rather.

There were slimy, slick scales from strange fish, animal bones as smooth as jade, and twisted plant roots that emitted faint energy fluctuations.

Seraphina Sinclair took everything. Her storage space was large enough that these materials wouldn’t go to waste, whether she used them herself or traded them for other supplies in the future.

What surprised Seraphina Sinclair was that there didn’t seem to be any crystal-type materials at the D-level.

Before, she could have chalked it up to just not having found any herself. But after this round of trading, Seraphina Sinclair was certain that D-level materials didn’t include crystals.

She completed a few more trades until most of those who wanted to buy had done so, and the flurry of activity subsided.

The praise in the group chat for the great-value deal gradually died down, and the topic subtly shifted elsewhere.

[Shatterer] sent a new message, his tone still carrying that same unpleasant, careless air:

"Blacktiger sure knows how to do business. Trading a bit of intel for materials is quick and safe. But for all of you who bought it, do you really think a little cleverness and a few runes are enough to let you rest easy? The Path Boss isn’t that simple. Who knows, maybe that number two on the leaderboard was killed by the Path Boss."

The words were barbed. On the surface, he was warning about the dangers of the Path Boss, but he was implicitly questioning the reliability of Seraphina Sinclair’s information. Combined with his crude attempt to blame the boss for the death of the number two player, it was all very strange no matter how you looked at it.

The group chat went quiet for a few seconds. Seraphina Sinclair narrowed her eyes, thinking.

’Why is someone so eager to provoke me?’

’Wasn’t Rex Shaw enough of a lesson?’

Seraphina Sinclair wasn’t angry. In fact, she found it a little interesting.

This Shatterer seemed very eager to muddy the waters. Or rather, he wanted to firmly pin the focus of the number two player’s death on the difficulty of the Path Boss.

Her fingers tapped lightly on the virtual keyboard as she replied in a calm tone, "My intel is based on my firsthand kill of the Eye of Root Binding. The weakness is valid, and the runes work. As for the cause of death for number two..."

[Blacktiger Ford]: Shatterer, you seem very keen on stopping everyone from discussing this.

Seraphina Sinclair’s message was like a stone tossed into a stagnant pond. Before any ripples could form, it provoked a reaction from Shatterer.

[Shatterer]: Not wanting to discuss it? I just think it’s a waste of energy on baseless talk! We’d be better off spending this time figuring out who’s monopolizing the Expansion Crystals!

He replied quickly. Almost as soon as Seraphina Sinclair’s message was sent, his voice message followed. His speech was a fraction faster than before, a hint of urgency hidden beneath his usual casual tone.

’He’s definitely hiding something!’

Before anyone else could react, Seraphina Sinclair immediately followed up.

[Blacktiger Ford]: You know, people only get flustered and reply so hastily when you’ve hit a nerve.

The statement was so direct it was practically a provocation.

The group chat fell completely silent. Everyone held their breath, watching the two top-tier players face off.

A silent tension filled the air.

A few seconds later, Shatterer’s voice message arrived.

He seemed to have realized his mistake; the few seconds of silence were likely spent composing his tone.

His voice in the message returned to its usual lazy drawl: "Of course I’m anxious when a big shot like you, Blacktiger, falsely accuses me. If I don’t defend myself, everyone will start thinking I’m the murderer, and I won’t even get a chance to object."

He had adjusted his tone back to that careless manner, even adding a hint of aggrievement in an attempt to frame Seraphina Sinclair’s pointed questioning as a case of "a big shot bullying others."

’Nice try turning the tables on me.’

But would Seraphina Sinclair let him get his way?

She typed unhurriedly:

[Blacktiger Ford]: Oh? Falsely accused? Which part of my message called you the murderer? I only pointed out that you don’t want people discussing the death of number two. But here you are, jumping straight to the "murderer" identity yourself. Are you that eager to implicate yourself?

This kind of bickering was pointless.

But the reason Seraphina Sinclair was still here arguing with him was because she knew that to solve this, she had to start with this person who was clearly suspicious.

Seraphina Sinclair could have just ignored all of this, but she had a nagging feeling.

It felt as if someone was walking the same path as her, with the same goal, but had somehow gotten a step ahead of her without her knowing.

The Legendary Equipment Lottery Ticket was right there in front of her and this other person. Who would be the one to get it...?

Seraphina Sinclair let out a soft laugh, her fingers pausing on the keyboard.

Shatterer didn’t reply for a long while.
