Chapter 254: Chapter 254: East Wind

Out of desperation, some people started trying anything, even tagging Blacktiger Ford.

"Stop tagging him. Why would a master like that bother with us? Let’s just wait for death... Heh, maybe it’s for the best. An early release from this misery."

"You have to be an idiot. Tagging Master Artemis would be more useful than tagging Blacktiger!"

Blacktiger personally agreed with that message.

Spurred on by that comment, the regional channel actually did tag Master Artemis a few times. But now, that renowned do-gooder was acting as if she couldn’t see the messages, not saying a single word.

Seeing this, how could Seraphina Sinclair not understand?

Artemis had an excellent reputation, which led everyone to believe she was the type of magnanimous person who would share anything and willingly contribute everything.

In reality, though, she was holding back. ’For all I know, she has just as many secrets as I do.’

"The trade channel has exploded! It’s all requests for weapons and healing supplies, but no one is selling even though the prices have multiplied!"

"I’ll trade two E-level materials for a basic Bandage! Anyone? I’m not going to make it!"

"E-level materials? Who cares about those now? You have to be alive to use them! I only want E-level weapons or defensive blueprints! Don’t DM me with your F-level garbage!"

"Everyone’s gone crazy, completely insane... I just saw someone trade three days’ worth of food for a broken dagger. It was E-level, sure, but the blade was snapped!"

Seraphina Sinclair’s eyes narrowed as she read this. She truly hadn’t expected a day like this to come.

She had originally thought that after entering the new area, the supply of E-level equipment would increase, making it less valuable. But she hadn’t considered that if these people lacked the strength to kill E-level monsters in the first place, how could there be any E-level equipment drops?

Still, it was normal that she hadn’t thought of this.

Summer insects cannot speak of ice. She could only see her own supplies and assess her own situation. It was only natural that she would make an incorrect judgment about the other survivors based on her own circumstances.

These were minor issues. The important thing was that Seraphina Sinclair still had an E-level foldable military knife she hadn’t sold yet.

’Prices are skyrocketing. If I don’t sell it now, when will I?’

Seraphina Sinclair opened the trade channel and, just as expected, saw a scene of utter chaos.

Buy requests were flooding the screen, each price more ridiculous than the last, but the transaction history was nearly empty.

Occasionally, an E-level weapon would be listed, only to be instantly sniped at an absurdly high price.

She hesitated no longer. She listed the foldable military knife, setting the trade conditions to: "Best offer. Only accepting E-level or higher materials or special items."

The moment she posted it, her private message channel exploded.

"Master! I’ll trade three Black Fog Crystals and a Blood Moon Crystal for it! That’s four E-level materials!"

"Give me a break. I’ll offer a can of coke plus two Self-heating Hot Pots for the Master’s knife!"

"You know a Master is selling this, right? You think a Master is short on stuff like that? I’m offering Expansion Crystals! Pick me, Master! I’ll give you five!"

"The stuff the guy above offered is essential, sure, but it’s still garbage compared to my D-level material. One D-compressed energy block for an E-level foldable military knife!"

Seraphina Sinclair raised an eyebrow slightly.

’A D-level material?’

That was a pleasant surprise.

’Although I need it to build the Basic Training Room, I’m missing too many other materials. This one piece is useless on its own.’

’For me right now, Expansion Crystals are more useful.’

She didn’t accept immediately, deciding instead to wait and see.

Soon, another message caught her attention: "[Damaged Engraving Scroll Fragment (D-level)]. This is all I have, plus two E-level Crystals."

’An Engraving Scroll fragment? What is this?’

Seraphina Sinclair’s interest was piqued.

She clicked to view the details.

[Damaged Engraving Scroll Fragment (D-level)]

[Description: Seems to contain a mysterious power. Collecting a certain number may allow you to synthesize a complete scroll? Current Progress (1/?)]

’Just a fragment is D-level? And it’s an Engraving Scroll...’

As far as Seraphina Sinclair knew, an Engraving Master could improve blueprints, so the purpose of this scroll seemed self-evident.

Although it was only a fragment, it started at D-level. The complete scroll would likely be an even higher level.

But... Seraphina Sinclair frowned.

She found it truly strange.

’If the complete scroll is C-level, am I really going to use such a rare C-level item to improve the F-level blueprints I have?’

’It feels like too much of a mismatch, doesn’t it?’

Seraphina Sinclair suppressed the absurd feelings welling up inside her. ’As long as this thing’s function is more or less what I think it is, I need to get my hands on it first.’

No longer hesitating, she replied to the other party: "Deal. But I need two Expansion Crystals on top of it."

The other person replied almost instantly: "No problem! I happen to have them."

The trade was completed smoothly.

A fragment shimmering with a dark gold light appeared in Seraphina Sinclair’s hand. It was warm and smooth to the touch, its surface covered in indecipherable runes.

In addition to that, there were two E-level Crystals and two Expansion Crystals.

’A price like this is a rare sight.’

Seraphina Sinclair stared at the items for a moment, thinking. She decided to ride this favorable wind and make a few more trades. She didn’t have any more weapons to trade, but weren’t runes the best weapons of all?

She actually had a batch of F-level runes on hand, but those were already earmarked for this week’s delivery to the Traveling Merchant.

Besides, they were F-level runes. They were already inadequate against E-level monsters, let alone D-level ones.

If she listed them now, they probably wouldn’t fetch a high price.

She carefully put away the F-level runes and took out the materials for drawing E-level runes. If she was going to take this opportunity to trade, she naturally had to offer something truly valuable.

An hour later, ten E-level Purifying Flame Runes and ten E+ Level Heavenly Light Runes were complete.

Seraphina Sinclair looked at the twenty freshly made runes and nodded in satisfaction.

’Now, I’ll post a sale announcement in the regional channel and hold a small-scale auction in my private messages!’

’Something this good should naturally go to the highest bidder.’

Seraphina Sinclair didn’t list the runes directly on the trade channel. Instead, she posted a short message in the regional channel:

"Selling E-level Purifying Flame Runes and E+ Level Heavenly Light Runes. Best offer wins. Bid via private message."

The moment the message appeared, the already chaotic channel erupted.

"Master Blacktiger is selling stuff again!"

"And it’s runes this time! Even more practical than weapons!"

"Master, please give us a starting price!"

"I sent a PM! Master, look at my offer!"

"Runes! It’s runes! Master Blacktiger is finally selling runes!"

"I keep hearing you guys talk about how awesome these things are. Can someone give me an example using a Rotting Corpse? I’m not familiar with other monsters, only Rotting Corpses."

"I’ll humor you!! You know what a Fire Drawing Rune is? Oh, of course you don’t. The servers hadn’t merged yet when Master Blacktiger sold them before. A Rotting Corpse, you say? One Fire Drawing Rune will insta-kill it!"
