Chapter 227: Chapter 227: The Residual Heat of the Foldable Military Knife

Seraphina Sinclair read the contract carefully. Only then did she discover that, just like a trade agreement, this thing was bound by the system.

Trying to back out of the deal was definitely impossible.

She felt a twinge of regret but didn’t dwell on any negative emotions. After another glance, she put it away.

The system announcement had now completely finished. ’But... where are the rewards?’

Puzzled, Seraphina Sinclair opened the regional channel.

"I ranked exactly 100th. May I ask, have any of the top players gotten their rewards?"

As soon as this message appeared, a string of replies immediately followed.

"Same question. I’m 98th, and I haven’t gotten anything."

"I’m 53rd. Haven’t seen a damn thing."

"Did the system forget?"

"No way. They probably just haven’t been distributed yet."

"@Blacktiger Ford, Master, have you received anything?"

"@Frostleaf, @Azura, @NotTryingToday, @Zeke the Passerby, have any of you masters heard anything?"

"What is this, a roll call from the great Khan? Isn’t tagging one person enough? You had to tag so many."

"Isn’t Zeke the Passerby not on the leaderboard?"

"Huh? Isn’t he a top player? He’s not even on the leaderboard?"

The conversation in the regional channel was starting to get off-topic. Just as Seraphina Sinclair was thinking this, a private message popped up. It was from Frostleaf.

[Frostleaf]: Master Blacktiger, have you received the leaderboard rewards?

There was no reason to hide the answer to a question like this.

[Blacktiger Ford]: No.

[Frostleaf]: That’s strange... It was clearly mentioned before that there would be rewards for the leaderboard. Could it be they’ll be sent out after the merge?

’After the merge?’

’Tomorrow morning?’

[Blacktiger Ford]: Possibly. They’ll definitely send them eventually.

Seeing this message, Frostleaf felt much more at ease. After sending her thanks, Frostleaf stopped worrying about it.

Seraphina Sinclair also knew that waiting around was pointless, so she took out the rewards she’d received for completing the instance.

The items were the same as last time—all necessities.

Downing the three Random Attribute Potions increased her Strength by two points and her Speed by one.

She received 30 new Advanced Meal Vouchers, which was a welcome resupply.

Adding the nine Expansion Crystals from the Advanced Survival Pack, Seraphina Sinclair was now only seven crystals away from upgrading.

At this thought, she didn’t rush to open the random item supply box. Instead, she opened the regional channel again.

’Being just seven short is still being short. If the shelter can be upgraded, it should be done as soon as possible.’

’Besides, this upgrade is a tier-up. How could I not be excited?’

The E-level foldable military knife she had gotten from her first E-level Supply Box was now completely obsolete. There was no point in keeping it, so she might as well trade it for some Expansion Crystals.

Right now, E-level weapons were still quite rare. But once they officially entered the new region, they wouldn’t be so rare anymore.

By then, E-level Supply Boxes would be everywhere, and E-level weapons would naturally become more common.

[Blacktiger Ford]: Selling one E-level foldable military knife. Only accepting Expansion Crystals. PM me with offers; I’ll choose who to trade with.

Attached to the message was the foldable military knife’s details panel, so potential buyers could confirm that the weapon was genuinely E-level.

"An E-level weapon?! The master is even selling an E-level weapon?"

"Holy shit, it really is E-level! I’ve never even seen an E-level weapon before!"

"Only accepting Expansion Crystals? About how many? I only have ten in total, I wonder if that’s enough."

"The master must be in a hurry to upgrade his shelter. He’s even putting a weapon like this up for sale. He must be really anxious."

There were smart people, too: "Of course he’s in a hurry. The new region is full of E-level monsters, so the supply boxes they drop are E-level too. This military knife is about to become worthless. If he doesn’t sell it now, won’t it just be a dead asset in his hands?"

"Haha, the person above is funny. You make it sound like the new region is paved with Gold. Yes, they drop E-level Supply Boxes, but don’t you have to fight for them? So many people are still using F-level weapons. It’s easy for you to talk."

"Yeah, yeah, I want to buy an E-level weapon too. I heard the good ones have attribute point bonuses. This one from the master might not have any, but it’s still the best weapon I’ve seen after watching the chat for so long. The last few people who claimed to be trading E-level weapons, you’d click and they were either damaged or just barely E-level trash. The Description for this one is at least ’standard.’ That’s incredibly rare."

"Too bad I haven’t saved up enough crystals, or I would’ve bought it instantly!"

"Sigh, the master says he’ll ’choose who to trade with,’ but doesn’t that just mean he wants us to bid? Highest bidder wins."

’What else would it be?’

Seraphina Sinclair couldn’t help but twitch the corner of her mouth. Looking at the dozen or so private messages that had instantly flooded in, she began to sift through them one by one.

Their demand for an E-level weapon was much higher than Seraphina Sinclair had expected. At first, there were people offering one or two crystals, trying to lowball her under the pretext that the crystals and the weapon were the same tier.

Then the offers suddenly started to increase: four, five...

Seraphina Sinclair waited patiently, showing no reaction. When the bidders saw she wasn’t replying and desperately wanted the weapon, they had no choice but to bid blindly.

"Master Blacktiger, I’ll offer ten. That’s all the Expansion Crystals I have on me. I don’t have any more."

"I really need this weapon, I’m begging you, please trade it to me!!"

Seraphina Sinclair watched the bids in her private messages climb higher and higher, accompanied by pleading tones, but she felt nothing.

She knew very well that for these survivors who had yet to find their footing in the new region, this E-level weapon meant a higher chance of staying alive.

And survival was priceless.

She ignored the emotional pleas, patiently waiting for the highest bid made in a moment of desperation.

Soon, a number popped up.

"I’ll give you twelve Expansion Crystals! Give me the weapon!"

Although the person’s tone was a bit forceful, Seraphina Sinclair wasn’t going to argue with twelve Expansion Crystals.

[Blacktiger Ford]: Deal.

She replied succinctly and immediately sent the trade agreement. The other party seemed to have been waiting, as they completed it almost instantly.

It was only then that Seraphina Sinclair noticed the person’s ID: Zeke the Passerby.

"It’s him?" Seraphina Sinclair murmured softly, staring at the chat box and falling into thought.

’If this guy doesn’t even have an E-level weapon, how did he clear the instance?’

’Does he have something else good up his sleeve?’

’Or did he just give up and get carried by a nice master?’

’But that master would have to be a little *too* nice...’

"Interesting," Seraphina Sinclair chuckled, making a mental note of her suspicion for later.

Delving into it now was pointless. The most urgent task was to improve herself.

Without further delay, she immediately brought up the mobile shelter’s upgrade page.

Everything was ready. With a hint of trepidation, Seraphina Sinclair clicked "Upgrade."

A new page popped up immediately, but it wasn’t an upgrade countdown. It was a notification.

[Prerequisite conditions not met. Unable to upgrade!]

’Prerequisite conditions?’

’What the hell are those?!’
