Survive in the Black Mist: My Sunflower Can Navigate
Chapter 155: Making an Example of You
Chapter 155: Chapter 155: Making an Example of You
"A grudge for a grudge, a wrong for a wrong? That suits me just fine. @Marcus Vance, your time is up."
"Um... Are there any powerful survivors willing to protect me? I can give you half my supplies... I’m so scared of being challenged..."
"Buying Arena Proofs for a high price! If you have one, name your price. Honest trades only! Also selling Master Blacktiger’s Fire Drawing Runes, guaranteed to help you achieve victory in the arena! It’s do-or-die time, don’t be stingy with your supplies! After all, staying alive is what matters most!"
"Yeah... If I just took care of you myself, would I even need to buy it?"
...
The commotion in the Zone channel had nothing to do with Seraphina Sinclair. Perhaps others were wary of the strange runes in her possession, so for the time being, no one came knocking on her door to offer themselves up for slaughter.
Seraphina Sinclair ate her sashimi, waiting for Sunflower to spit out some sunshine.
The little guy had been force-fed half a bottle of water yesterday and was still muttering this morning, "I hate meanies."
Who knows what it dreamed about last night. Maybe it didn’t sleep well. It was still holding a grudge.
Seraphina Sinclair picked up another piece of sashimi with her chopsticks, savoring it leisurely. She was utterly at ease.
Suddenly, her private messages began to DING.
Seraphina Sinclair was a bit confused. If someone wanted to contact her, they would usually just send a single message and wait for a reply.
She suddenly had a bad feeling, a sense that she might have been targeted by some lunatic.
She opened the chat window and saw that her premonition was correct.
The notifications were from a group chat created by Frostleaf:
[Clueless]: @Blacktiger Ford! You told me to choose Quicksand Valley, and now I have no water! You should be taking responsibility for me.
[Clueless]: @Blacktiger Ford, get out here! Stop f***ing playing dead! What kind of master are you?! It’s because I f***ing listened to you that I ended up in this mess! I’m dying of thirst! Get out here! Compensate me!
[Clueless]: @Blacktiger Ford, stop playing dead! I know you saw this! You coward! Aren’t you usually so arrogant? Why are you silent now?!
[Bluebird]: @Clueless, that’s completely unreasonable. Master Blacktiger was just sharing the path they chose, not holding a knife to your throat and forcing you to follow. You made the choice yourself, who else is there to blame?
[Frostleaf]: @Clueless, your impotent rage is pathetic to watch. If you’ve got the skills, go find water. If you don’t, then just wait for death quietly. Stop acting crazy in here.
[Nightingale]: Driven mad by thirst, so now you’re lashing out at people? I think you’ve just got your eyes on Master Blacktiger’s supplies. You’re trying to use the threat of an Arena Proof to extort some water, aren’t you?
[Bluebird]: +1. Master, just ignore him. You have to walk the path you choose, even if you have to crawl.
After sending her message, Frostleaf kicked Clueless out of the group.
’Was he kidding?’
Blacktiger Ford had been willing to share their chosen path for free, which had been a huge help to them.
’That guy’s brain is either completely smooth, or he doesn’t have one at all!’
’Did he think no one could see his real intentions?’
’The moment the system announced the Arena Proofs, he jumped out to verbally threaten the number one ranked player.’
’If the number one player turned out to be a Paper Tiger, he would have hit the jackpot.’
’But he didn’t stop to think! How could a Paper Tiger solo a D-level monster? How could a Paper Tiger take down a path’s boss without any prior knowledge? How could a Paper Tiger kill so many Rotting Corpses in the novice instance to become the only person to reach the tenth tier?’
Frostleaf’s original intention for creating the group was to save some of her own supplies. And even though Master Blacktiger had caught her red-handed, that only proved how capable Master Blacktiger was!
People have a natural admiration for the strong, and Frostleaf was no exception.
Ever since she had personally witnessed the Singer in the Mists, her feelings toward Blacktiger Ford had turned into blind worship.
Now, seeing her idol being so openly insulted by an idiot, how could she possibly stand for it?
Seraphina Sinclair was unaware of Frostleaf’s inner thoughts. To her, Frostleaf was no different from a stranger.
So, this defensive behavior from the other party...
Although Seraphina Sinclair was confused, she still sent a "thank you."
’Besides... why kick him out?’
’I haven’t even cursed him out yet!’
Just as she was about to search for the person’s ID to make an example of them, she saw a new message from Nightingale.
[Nightingale]: That guy’s back on the Zone channel, cursing you out again. He really won’t give up until he’s staring death in the face.
’Perfect timing.’
Seraphina Sinclair opened the Zone channel. His tirade had already attracted a lot of attention—after all, the other main character in this drama was Blacktiger Ford.
[Clueless]: Blacktiger Ford! You coward! You gutless piece of trash! @Blacktiger Ford
[Clueless]: Everyone, look closely! This is the so-called "master" who gets people killed! I listened to him and chose Quicksand Valley, and now I don’t have a single drop of water! He’s a fraud! What bullshit master! He probably got where he is by scamming people out of their supplies, right? Playing dead now? Just you wait! If I don’t make it, I’m taking you with me!
[Clueless]: If you’ve got the guts, let’s meet in the arena! Don’t you sell runes? Aren’t you supposed to be so tough? Get out here! I’ll bet my life against yours!
[Clueless]: Coward! All you know how to do is hide behind women! Is that Frostleaf your lapdog? She sure was quick to kick me, wasn’t she? So diligent in protecting her master!
"Holy crap, someone’s trying to scam Master Blacktiger? What a brave soul!"
"Choosing a path? What’s this all about?"
"LMAO, is this human nature? When your own life sucks, you just have to find a target to blame."
"@Blacktiger Ford, Master, come out and say something! Are you just gonna let this guy run his mouth? You saving him for New Year’s dinner?"
"Speaking of which... the reason he’s popping up now, is it because he has one of those Arena Proofs?"
"This is obviously an attempt to force the Master to give him supplies. He’s even threatening him with the arena? Is Master Blacktiger scared? If Master Blacktiger is scared, hehe, maybe I can get a piece of the action too?"
"A piece of the action? I think you’ve gotten cocky and don’t know who you’re messing with!"
But Seraphina Sinclair wasn’t in a hurry at all. Since she had decided to make an example of him, it was better for the commotion to get bigger and for more people to find out.
Frostleaf and the other two were surprisingly righteous, explaining the whole story clearly in the Zone channel. The indecisive onlookers, who were just there for the drama, instantly switched sides.
"So you’re telling me everyone begged Master Blacktiger to reveal his chosen path, and after he did, this guy turned around and bit the hand that fed him?"
"Wait! Are you telling me... this guy, who seems kind of dumb, is also one of the top thirty in our Zone?"
"Holy hell! It’s a clash between masters! I’m on Master Blacktiger’s side! Master Blacktiger, come on out!"
"No wonder he dares to issue a challenge. He’s one of the top players too. He must have some kind of ace up his sleeve."
Just as the discussion among the survivors in the Zone channel reached its peak, Seraphina Sinclair finally made her grand entrance with her first reply.
[Blacktiger Ford]: @Clueless You made your own choice, so you bear the consequences. I have plenty of supplies, but I won’t give you a single drop of water.
Her reply was direct and unyielding, leaving no room for negotiation.
