Chapter 145: Chapter 145: Farewell

"Got it. The brave get reincarnated first."

...

Seraphina Sinclair fell silent. The comparison made her seem rather reckless.

’But... was it really reckless?’

Seraphina Sinclair tried to recall what had happened. Thinking back carefully, she realized she had no idea how she’d even gotten outside. It was as if she had subconsciously followed the System’s suggestion, pushed open the door, and walked out.

Just like that.

Frowning, Seraphina Sinclair finally realized something about her earlier actions hadn’t been quite right.

’Why, though?’

’Was the Moonlight Jellyfish’s Blessing at work?’

As Seraphina Sinclair was pondering this, the culprit itself suddenly floated out.

It drew close to Seraphina Sinclair and nuzzled her cheek with its radiant glow.

For Seraphina Sinclair, such an intimate gesture was pure terror!

If the Description couldn’t be trusted, Seraphina Sinclair would have started to suspect the creature was plotting something nefarious.

’But the Blessing is just a Little Light Ball. What harm could a Little Light Ball possibly do?’

As she was thinking, Seraphina Sinclair suddenly sensed a stir in the fog.

She glanced at the time. Sure enough, it was nine o’clock.

Then, she saw light.

At first, it was just a few scattered specks, like the first stars awakening in the night sky, faint yet determined as they lit up the black fog.

Then, the points of light rapidly multiplied, converging into streams until they formed a boundless, slowly flowing ocean of light!

The Moonlight Jellyfish had begun their migration.

Their bodies were like the finest crystal, sparkling and translucent. The edges of their bells were traced with a fine, bright, silver-blue light, as if kissed by the Moonlight itself. Countless long, supple tentacles, like a fairy’s ribbons, swayed elegantly in the black fog, trailing fine, meteor-like tails of light.

They moved in silence—tens of thousands, perhaps millions, even tens of millions of them—forming a vast and mighty legion of light.

They emerged from the depths of the black fog, heading toward some unknown, distant destination—unhurried, tranquil, and magnificent.

The light from the Moonlight Jellyfish wasn’t harsh. It was a soft, cool radiance, as brilliant as Moonlight.

Layer upon layer of light intertwined, illuminating the fog-shrouded world and transforming it into a dreamscape.

The light streamed past the outer walls of her mobile cabin and washed over Seraphina Sinclair’s stunned face.

She was captivated, her eyes glued to the unfolding spectacle.

The exquisite bodies of the Moonlight Jellyfish, the dreamlike halos they cast in the black fog—the sights of this night would be forever etched into Seraphina Sinclair’s memory.

Occasionally, an exceptionally large or unusually shaped jellyfish would drift by, close enough for Seraphina Sinclair to clearly see the threads of light flickering within its body and perceive its indescribable, yet supremely elegant, rhythm.

In that moment, the gloom of slaughter, struggle, and death seemed to be dispelled by the gentle yet powerful radiance.

The regional channel fell from shock into a deathly silence. No one argued or complained anymore.

All words felt pale and powerless before this natural wonder. Only silent awe reverberated in the hearts of every survivor.

Seraphina Sinclair stood leaning against the doorframe, gazing for a long time at the river of light flowing past.

She spotted a particularly small Moonlight Jellyfish, seemingly newborn, struggling to keep up with the swarm. Its light was a bit dim, but it pressed forward with determination, drifting slowly past her door.

Its soft tentacles swayed gently, as if offering her a silent thank you.

’Is this... the reward for clearing the way?’

But that wasn’t the only reward. After the last of the light vanished, a panel popped up in front of Seraphina Sinclair.

[The Moonlight Jellyfish are grateful for your send-off. They have sent you a gift!]

[Strength +1, Constitution +1, Speed +1!]

’They even give attribute points!’

Seraphina Sinclair wiped the corners of her dry eyes, deeply moved all the same.

She looked up at the starry sky, revealed by the migration, and took a deep breath of fresh air for the first time in what felt like ages.

’Alright! Time to keep working hard!’

While she was in high spirits, some people in the regional channel were absolutely losing their minds.

"GODDAMMIT, SYSTEM, YOU MOTHERF—! Attribute points! They actually gave attribute points! All Attributes +1! WHY DIDN’T YOU SAY SO SOONER?!"

"Shit, what a massive loss! I just hesitated for a second and didn’t open the door! Just one second! And All Attributes +1 just flew away like that?! This is infuriating!"

"SOB... I was so scared. It’s so dangerous outside at night, who would have thought... SOB, my attribute points... I feel like I just lost out on a billion dollars..."

"I told you so! The System might be a bastard, but it doesn’t usually lie in its official quests and announcements! But you guys wouldn’t believe me! You just had to be cowards hiding in your shells! HAHAHA, thank you, System! And thank you, Boss Blacktiger Ford! All Attributes +1 feels amazing!"

"Who the f*ck are you showing off to, you smug prick upstairs? You just got lucky and had bigger balls, that’s all! Ptooey! What a load of dumb luck!"

"The System definitely did this on purpose. It used our fear and mistrust to filter us. The brave get rewarded, and the cowardly get nothing... but this ’getting nothing’ feels awful..."

"Is there any way to turn back time? I’ll trade all my wood and stone for it! Can anyone sell me a pill for regret?! AAAAAH!"

"@System You did this on purpose, didn’t you? Playing word games, huh? What was that crap about ’appreciating the spectacle’? Would it kill you to just say there was a reward? HUH? WOULD IT?!"

"Huh? You can @ the System?"

’Good point.’ Seraphina Sinclair was also a little confused. Just as the regional channel was about to erupt into another argument over this, the one who had been tagged spoke up.

[System]: If you want to curse the System, curse the System. Why the hell are you @’ing me?

’Oh, so that’s his ID?’

The regional channel was now in complete chaos. Some people, who just loved to stir the pot, were even saying things like "let’s all have a drink to the chaos."

Seraphina Sinclair shook her head. Dragging her utterly exhausted body, drained after all the excitement, she forced herself to wash up in the bathroom. Returning to her mobile cabin, she collapsed face-first onto the bed, pulled up the covers, and was instantly asleep.

Early Sunday morning, Seraphina Sinclair opened her eyes.

After a good night’s sleep, she was now brimming with Spirit.

’Breakfast was a meal ticket again. What she ate didn’t matter, but could she get that waiter to spawn one more time?’

’Seraphina Sinclair had something important to ask it.’

Perhaps her wish was heard. When Seraphina Sinclair used her meal ticket, it wasn’t a simple food tray that appeared, but a familiar figure.

Dressed in a crisp butler’s uniform, a standard smile on his face, the waiter appeared silently once more inside her mobile cabin, pushing a serving cart.

"Good day, esteemed guest. I present today’s breakfast: Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup, served with traditional Ma Lai Go and Iced Lemon Tea."

The waiter elegantly placed the fragrant dishes on the small table, one by one, before standing aside in a flawless posture.

Seraphina Sinclair didn’t immediately pick up her chopsticks. She looked up at the waiter. "We meet again. As your guest, I have a few questions."

"I would be delighted to assist you," the waiter said with a slight bow, adopting a posture that showed he was all ears.
