Survival of the Nation: I Can Specify the Items That Will Drop
Chapter 718: Blood Spider Cloud Ladder
Only a few innate masters escaped by jumping off ladders after the shelling, scrambling and crawling towards the cloud ladders behind them.
Thousands of ladders advanced under artillery fire, and once they entered the range of the Wraiths, tens of thousands of shadow projectiles separated from the Wraiths on the ice wall. The densely packed dark purple orbs of light collided with the membrane surface, creating ripples.
The protective barrier has 200 points of defense. When the Shadow Bolt hits it, the damage is all 0, and it can't even crack.
The Blood Spider Ladder, braving a barrage of shadow bullets, had its eight supporting legs' gripping claws embedded in the frozen ground, while its forelegs rested on the ramparts.
The main ladder was steadily placed on the city wall.
The first group of demonic sect disciples rushed up the wall using bone ladders.
A disciple who had just climbed over the ramparts hadn't even had time to stand properly when a shadow wolf pounced on him, tearing open his wounds and causing his health bar to drop.
He stabbed Shadow Wolf in the side with a backhand stroke.
"superior!"
The Blood Demon Sect disciples roared as they charged up the ladders, and the moment they stepped onto the city wall, a Nightmare Cavalryman's scythe swept across them.
Blood splattered everywhere!
The battle has begun.
On the ice wall, Nightmare Clan soldiers and Blood Demon Sect disciples clashed, their dark purple shadow energy and dark red blood energy intertwining and colliding, creating a cacophony of explosions, screams, and the clash of weapons.
More disciples surged up the main ladder and the two secondary ladders.
The disciples of the Innate Realm charged ahead, clearing the way with Blood Coagulation Claw and Blood罡 Finger, while Blood Shadow Step left afterimages on the city wall.
Nightmare soldiers surrounded them from all directions. Nightmare cavalrymen swept their scythes across, cutting down a row of demonic disciples. The knockback effect of the scythes pushed those behind them off the city wall.
But new disciples are still pouring in.
"Charge! Each soldier killed in this battle will receive a hundred Blood Crystals as compensation!"
"Damn it, don't push! Let me go first!"
"I'm going to chop these monsters down today!"
Just as the battle on the city wall was at its most intense, a series of rapid winch turning sounds came from behind the Blood Demon Sect.
The Flying Tigers armored vehicle has reached the 500-meter mark.
Tens of thousands of heavy armored vehicles were lined up in a row, with giant hooks made of black iron on the launch pads. Behind each vehicle were hundreds of post-natal disciples waiting to be launched.
"emission!"
With a "click," the winch launched the hook, carrying a cable as thick as an arm, and precisely hooked it three meters below the battlements. The cable tightened, pulling out tens of thousands of diagonally upward iron cables between the ice wall and the chariot.
"superior!"
The day after tomorrow, the disciple stepped onto the winch, as if stepping on a taut steel wire, and ran diagonally towards the city wall with the pull of the winch.
The winch swayed beneath their feet, the wind and snow stung their faces, and below lay a gap of hundreds of meters. People kept slipping and falling, their screams echoing long and drawn out, but many more people blindly rushed upwards.
The master of innate skill was even more agile. He used the Blood Shadow Step to tap the noose repeatedly. Before the afterimage had even dissipated, he had already leaped to the middle of the city wall.
"I'm going in!"
"kill!"
"Charge with me! Break through their lines!"
"Damn it, I'll risk it!"
The Flying Tiger Chariots allowed Blood Demon Sect disciples to continuously climb the city walls, instantly overcoming the slow speed of the ladders. On the city walls, gaps were torn open in the Nightmare Soldiers' defenses.
The Nightmare Shadowweaver uttered chaotic and overlapping whispers, its mental pulses reverberating throughout the army: "Flank the left flank! Concentrate fire on the Innate Masters scaling the wall! Corpse Men, push forward! Shadow Wolves, flank and attack!"
Nightmare cavalry glided in from behind, their long-handled scythes sweeping across, their terrifying charge sending a group of Blood Demon Sect disciples flying.
A Blood Demon Sect master of innate level scaled the city wall, but before he could even get his footing, he was struck head-on by a Nightmare Cavalryman.
The cavalryman's lower body was fused with the nightmare horse; beneath the tattered black iron armor, only two dark purple spots of light were visible inside the visor.
The long-handled scythe swept across, its blade wreathed in flowing black mist, slicing towards his neck.
With a single step of the innate master Blood Shadow Step, his figure shifted half a foot to the side, the scythe grazing his shoulder armor and leaving a white mark on the surface.
He swung his Blood Coagulation Claw into the Nightmare Horse's foreleg, the bloodthirsty energy from the claw's strike seeping into the carapace's cracks and triggering a tear.
Nightmare Horse's front legs buckled, and the cavalry's charge veered off course.
He leaped into the air, his Blood Qi Finger pointing through the air, and crimson energy pierced through the cavalryman's chest, dark purple blood gushing out from the gaps in his mask.
"The first one!"
As he landed, a bone knife came crashing down on his head.
A rotting human body lunged at us from the side, its eye sockets empty, its mouth sewn shut, and its breath coming in rapid, turbid gasps.
He tilted his head to the side, and his bone-crushing whip kick swept across the side of the decaying man's knee. The hidden force penetrated deep into the bone, and the knee joint shattered inch by inch from the inside.
The decaying man knelt down, and his elbow slammed into its skull, causing its entire head to cave into its chest cavity.
The corpse of the rotting man left a corrosive area on the ground. If his feet touched it, 10 points of damage per second would be generated, and healing would be reduced by 20%.
He spat, rubbed his foot on the nail surface, and continued pushing forward.
"Senior brother, to the left!" a disciple from the latter shouted.
He turned his head, and three shadow wolves pounced out from the inside of the rampart, forming a fan-shaped encirclement. The pack hunting was stacked five times, and the attack power of each wolf had increased significantly.
He activated his innate qi to its fullest extent, a dark red light shield enveloping his entire body. Instead of retreating, he advanced, charging headlong into the shadow wolf at the very front.
The Blood Coagulation Claws tore at the Shadow Wolf's wounds; let's see who can't withstand it first.
His claws arrived first, his five fingers digging into the shadow wolf's neck. Bloodlust poured in, and a string of blood bubbles swelled up under the shadow wolf's fur. After struggling a couple of times, it stopped moving.
The second wolf lunged at his calf from the side, and he raised his knee to strike the shadow wolf's jaw with a crisp cracking sound.
Seeing the situation was not good, the third wolf tried to retreat, but he used his Blood Shadow Step to catch up and struck the shadow wolf in the lower back with a palm, breaking its spine. The wolf collapsed to the ground and twitched twice.
"Awesome!" He wiped the dark purple blood from his face and shouted to the disciples behind him, "Don't stand there, follow me and push to the left!"
Blood flowed like a river atop the ice wall.
Dark purple nightmare blood intertwined with dark red bloodlust, forming a viscous stream on the frozen stone slab.
The corpses were piled up in layers, and the corroded areas left by the dead corpses mixed with the bloody liquid left by the Blood Howl Cannon, emitting a nauseating smell.
