Chapter 1176 - 788: The Yin Family Couple’s Dilemma
"Isn’t it so? Playing the violin like slaughtering a pig... and still having a good time."
"Pfft..."
Prince Huang said with disdain, while Su Xiaomeng found it amusing, "Same age as you? Or older?"
"Definitely younger than me, such a tiny figure..."
"Tsk tsk, just because someone is shorter doesn’t mean they are younger than you, right? Look, you’re not that tall either, but Ma Siyuan is the same age as you and much taller."
Prince Huang’s ears immediately turned a shy red.
"See, I didn’t bring up such a sensitive topic about height." Su Xiaomeng quickly cleared herself.
Prince Huang held his breath and strode quickly forward, Su Xiaomeng hurried to keep up, "Son, slow down... Okay, Mom won’t say anymore, Huang Huang still has room to grow... haha..."

The next day, Yin Shixiu cleared out some time, and Mr. Ke came over to their home to discuss Yin Huaiyu’s piano learning situation.
He admitted that he could continue teaching Yin Huaiyu, but Yin Huaiyu had exceptional talent in piano, and he worried about leading him inadequately, meaning... he felt pressure.
Yin Huaiyu was sitting by the side, listening. The smart little guy figured it out quickly—Mr. Ke probably didn’t want to be his piano instructor anymore.
Mr. Ke’s sudden remarks left Su Xiaomeng and Yin Shixiu a bit bewildered. Mr. Ke was Aunt Shaoqun’s student. Technically, teaching Huang Huang should be a piece of cake, right? Initially, when she sent Prince Huang to Mr. Ke, she was worried he’d be overqualified.
But then...
"Mr. Ke, is it difficult for you? Isn’t Huang Huang learning well with you? He seems quite happy learning..."
"Mrs. Yin, your son will easily pass next week’s Level 10 exam. I don’t need to publicize it; once he gets his Level 10 results, half the community will know. He’s only seven years old. So many gifted children become mediocre because they don’t get guidance from a great teacher. I really like Huaiyu, but I also know my teaching ability is limited... so..."
Mr. Ke spoke sincerely, and Su Xiaomeng and Yin Shixiu exchanged glances, then looked at the silent Prince Huang. After a long while, Yin Shixiu finally asked,
"So, Mr. Ke, do you have any suggestions?"
"Matthew Moore."
Mr. Ke firmly stated this name, and the little guy’s body tensed up.
"If Huaiyu starts learning with Matthew Moore now, his future will be limitless."
"Mr. Ke, are you suggesting that Huaiyu should become Matthew Moore’s apprentice? Become Matthew Moore’s student?" Yin Shixiu furrowed his brow, and in his peripheral vision, the little guy remained silent, though his fists were tightly clenched, visibly tense.
"Yes, Aunt Shaoqun and Matthew Moore are close friends. Huaiyu is Aunt Shaoqun’s youngest student; he should have met Matthew Moore a few times, right?"
Mr. Ke looked at Yin Huaiyu and asked.
Yin Huaiyu pressed his lips together and nodded, "Twice..."
Mr. Ke smiled gently, "Compared to Schumann, Mozart, Haydn, and Chopin, Huaiyu prefers Matthew Moore, doesn’t he?"
Yin Huaiyu didn’t speak, but his reddened ears gave away his thoughts.
Su Xiaomeng and Yin Shixiu saw it clearly, and Su Xiaomeng wondered if Yin Shixiu had ever thought about this possibility; she certainly hadn’t.
When Huang Huang was three, Aunt Shaoqun was eager to keep Prince Huang by her side to teach him piano. At the time, she and Yin Shixiu both refused, firstly because Prince Huang was too young, and secondly, they thought it seemed overqualified use.
Little did they know that Aunt Shaoqun had already found out she had a terminal illness. She knew her time was short... so after her tour in Germany, she went to London and resided there to start Prince Huang’s piano journey...
Aunt Shaoqun’s strictness was evident to Su Xiaomeng and Yin Shixiu. Three-year-old Huang Huang had to practice piano for more than ten hours a day. They felt sorry for Prince Huang, but this little guy didn’t complain and was more stubborn than anyone else. Sitting on the piano bench, his small body seemed stubbornly embedded with tenacity. Even when Aunt Shaoqun relented, if he felt his playing was subpar, he’d stay glued to the bench, refusing to be dragged away.
Skipping grades to pass exams, Level 6 and above are basically passed by the youngest candidates.
"Mr. Ke, do you really think Huaiyu has the qualifications to study under Matthew Moore?"
Yin Shixiu asked again, and although he asked, he had somewhat of an answer himself... Huang Huang was talented, as Aunt Shaoqun had long said. The kid with talent was also exceedingly stubborn and willing to work hard.
"I think he does, but whether Matthew Moore thinks so, I can’t judge. I just think that no world-class pianist would want to miss out on such a promising talent."
Matthew Moore, one of the greatest pianists of our time, internationally renowned... native to Vienna.
Su Xiaomeng and Yin Shixiu knew little about this person.
After sending off Mr. Ke, Su Xiaomeng and Yin Shixiu sat down; this was truly a rare situation that left the couple both feeling troubled and conflicted.
"Huang Huang... what about you? Any thoughts?"
Prince Huang scratched his head, his ears still tinged red...
"If you had the chance to study under Matthew Moore, would you be willing?"
Yin Shixiu rephrased the question. Prince Huang looked elsewhere but still nodded honestly.
Su Xiaomeng muttered, "This awkward kid, speaking a few honest words seems as fatal as asking for his life. In the future, if he pursues a girl, she might be driven crazy!"
Prince Huang still had a face that asked you to guess.
"Alright, your dad and I will discuss this further, you just go do your thing."
Su Xiaomeng sent the little poker face off.
The overall tone of the Jun Garden living room was rather quaint. On a wooden loveseat, Su Xiaomeng let out a soft "Oops" as she leaned on Yin Shixiu, batting her innocent starry eyes at him...
"Say what you want to say..."
"Honey... I’m just a university lecturer, not even officially permanent yet. Someone like Matthew Moore is way beyond my reach..."
"..."
"Well, we’ll have to use your vast network for this... I wonder if people in the music world would even care about the president of an empire like you..."
Su Xiaomeng spoke, her words playfully teasing, her large eyes glinting with mischief and cleverness.
Yin Shixiu raised his hand and tapped her nose, "You sure know how to shove things off."
"Well, you tell me, who knows what approach a piano master takes, we don’t even know him... Just that Huang Huang seems to really like him, otherwise—"
Su Xiaomeng’s words suddenly stopped, and then swiftly shifted,
"Oh? You think if Huang Huang really becomes a pianist... how much pride will I, as his mom, feel?"
