Supremely Talented Tyrant
Chapter 2202 - 2403: Thirty Thousand!!!
Hao Jian was formidable on his own, but what if the Gangster Boss called in a huge crowd? No matter how strong one person is, they can't possibly fend off so many at once. If reinforcements really came, they'd be doomed, so everyone had worried expressions, wondering whether it was time to leave, too scared to stay.
However, Hao Jian's face bore a smile; he didn't regard any of this as a big deal. Not only could he handle it if people showed up, but ever since that night, the underworld dynamics in Yun City had been redefined. This area belonged to Baldy, Big Rotten Fortune, Qiu Lang… it was all their territory. Could these small-time gangsters really call in someone more powerful than them? If they found out the Gangster Boss dared to call others to deal with him, wouldn't they skin him alive first?
Of course, that wasn't the main concern. The main point was that he had just accidentally discovered that this KTV belonged to Wumao.
The commotion caused by the fight was enormous, so it wouldn't be long before Wumao's people showed up. They'd met him that night, so they'd definitely recognize him. If the Gangster Boss had provoked Hao Jian here at Wumao's place, the outcome would be clear.
So regardless of his own strength or other factors, Hao Jian was supremely confident; dealing with a few small-time gangsters was a piece of cake for him.
Hearing Hao Jian's brazen tone, the Gangster Boss immediately applauded and then waved his hand, pointing at a few underlings, saying, "You guys guard the door for me, don't let this group try to run away in fear later."
A few underlings, enduring the pain, rushed to the door to keep guard. At this moment, the Gangster Boss was earlier thinking about Zhang Danlin, Liang Xiaohan, and the other girls, having some dirty thoughts, but now, because of Hao Jian's appearance and the situation's development, his thoughts were utterly disrupted.
Now, his only desire was to teach Hao Jian a lesson, to regain his honor, or else leading so many brothers here and lying on the ground, utterly unsuccessful, was disgraceful with no chance to retaliate.
One of the underlings finished a call and walked up to the Gangster Boss, raising his voice specifically for Hao Jian to hear, saying, "Boss, I called them, they said they're coming right away."
The Gangster Boss nodded with satisfaction, then lifted his head to look at Hao Jian, wearing a disdainful expression as if imagining the scene of him teaching Hao Jian a lesson shortly.
But then, suddenly, there was a stir and sounds of footsteps coming from outside. In less than a second, the door to the private room was pushed open, and a large group of people barged in, all wearing menacing expressions. The door was almost kicked open.
"Damn! Who's causing trouble here?" The person's face was displeased, and they were aggressive as a group.
Seeing this, the previously arrogant Gangster Boss suddenly looked frightened, his heart beginning to panic. Although he had some clout, compared to the boss overseeing this place, he was nothing. He hadn't expected that his actions would draw their attention.
Dealing with someone like Hao Jian, he hadn't been concerned, believing him just a student with no real strength. But if it were Wumao's people covering this place, then he would be frightened. He dared not offend Wumao, knowing that offending him could lead to unpredictable consequences.
Previously, Wumao was at most slightly stronger than him in terms of manpower and strength, but now, it was said that Wumao had led people in a fiercely fought battle at the Axe Gang's turf one evening, and now had a voice in Yun City's underworld. How could he dare offend Wumao now? Offending him was tantamount to seeking death.
So, when that group entered, his face turned grim, with the word "trouble" flashing in his mind. He didn't know how to respond, and the other seven or eight small-time gangsters were even more flustered, caught off guard.
Hu Lai, Zhang Danlin, and the others didn't understand what was happening, and seeing someone causing trouble again amidst ongoing chaos, they too wore uneasy expressions, growing even more worried.
However, the leader of the intruding group looked at the Gangster Boss and Hu Lai, scanning past Hao Jian but ignoring him completely, eventually also disregarding Hu Lai's group, then walked up to the Gangster Boss, asking, "Is it you causing trouble here?"
The Gangster Boss, who had been arrogant, now deflated like a leaky balloon, losing his temper and confidence, stammering, "Boss, it's not me causing trouble, it's them."
Immediately, he pointed backward at Hu Lai and the others, implying Hu Lai and Zhang Danlin's group was causing trouble. But before he could finish speaking, that person kicked him in the leg, causing him to stagger back several steps before stopping.
At this moment, the leader of the intruders, with a hint of anger, said, "Damn it, do you take me for a fool? I heard you calling for help outside. If it's not you causing trouble, then who? Just look at them; they're obviously students. Do you think students would dare mess with you, you bum?"
The Gangster Boss was at a loss for words, and although being kicked openly was humiliating, since this person was with Wumao, he dared not offend him. Even if he felt agitated, he had to suppress it, unsure of what to say, sensing that saying anything might lead to more kicks and punches.
"Uh..." The Gangster Boss was speechless.
At this point, the leader looked at him, arrogantly saying, "Daring to cause trouble at Brother Wumao's place, you've got some guts. How do you propose resolving this? If Brother Wumao finds out, you know what your fate will be — Brother Wumao doesn't go easy on people like you."
Bringing up Wumao only made him look worse, silencing the Gangster Boss even more, who kept his head down and said nothing, "Well..."
The leader raised an eyebrow and suddenly beckoned to the Gangster Boss, clearly meaning, "Cough up some cash to resolve this, or if Brother Wumao finds out, you won't walk away unscathed."
The Gangster Boss hadn't expected this outcome, so he turned towards Zhang Danlin, Hu Lai, and the others and said, "Boss, they're the ones causing trouble..."
"Boom!" The Gangster Boss hadn't even finished speaking before getting kicked in the stomach, his face turned color in pain before crumpling to the ground, in agony. The person looked at him coldly, saying, "Cut the crap, or I'll finish you on behalf of Brother Wumao!"
The Gangster Boss was truly scared now, not expecting to be beaten before even finishing his sentence, clenching his stomach in pain and saying, "Boss, I was wrong, name your price."
The leader smiled, saying, "Thirty thousand!"
"Thirty thousand!" The Gangster Boss showed a terrified expression, just like the few other small-time gangsters, faces full of shock.
They only collected a small amount of protection money monthly, and not even that much, as it had to be passed up to higher powers, leaving even less. Now to suddenly hand over thirty thousand, it was like having their skin flayed — it hurt more than death.
"What, you don't want to?" The leader glared at the Gangster Boss, scaring him into silence.
The Gangster Boss pleaded, "Boss, isn't that a bit too much? I can't come up with that much, could you lower it a bit?"
He never imagined just passing by to tease a few girls could turn into getting beaten by a student only to now pay thirty thousand to buy this lesson — otherwise, the consequences were unthinkable. He was in bitter agony, not knowing what to say, full of grievances.
However, the leader angrily said, "Damn, it's already good at this price. Daring to cause trouble at Brother Wumao's spot, you're lucky I'm not taking half your life. Are you looking for death?"
As he spoke, he prepared to kick again, scaring the Gangster Boss into retreating several steps, frightened. Immediately nodding, "Thirty thousand! Thirty thousand! I'll pay!"
The leader finally smiled, nodding, retracting his leg, and said, "Damn! Try that next time, and I'll cripple your legs."
The Gangster Boss was filled with lingering fear. Wumao's people were definitely different; their threats weren't mere taunts. If Wumao's people said it, it was true and nothing to joke about. To think what might happen if his legs were truly crippled filled him with dread.
Afraid to speak, a group of them held their silence, never expecting such a small matter to turn into such a mess, not even getting the slightest touch of any girls, and then being hit by a series of misfortunes, forced to spend money to avoid disaster — this really was a day of bad luck.
Despite everything, they dared not utter a word, or truly a disaster would befall them, all of them looking utterly defeated.
But just then, the door suddenly banged open once more, and two to three more people walked in. Though few, the sight of them immediately scared the Gangster Boss and his eight or so men, their complexions changing with fright.
