He originally thought Hao Jian was just a student, and crushing him would be as simple as crushing an ant. But he did not expect the power on the other side to be so formidable; just one phone call immediately put him in a dire situation, now he could say he was already on the brink of death.

In the face of absolute power, he had to bow his head. Even after undergoing such dramatic changes, given that Hao Jian was just a student, and there were so many people present, he was pressured into bowing to Hao Jian.

After what seemed like a long yet actually brief psychological struggle, he admitted defeat and lowered his head.

He didn't pick up the phone that had fallen on the ground but looked at Hao Jian with an expression both pitiful and wretched. He approached Hao Jian without his previous arrogance and pleaded, "Brother, I was just joking with you earlier, can you make that phone call again and reverse all this?"

Everyone watching was astounded, surprised that the previously arrogant Father Gu had lowered his posture so much this time. The attitude he had before and now was such a stark contrast.

They were all astonished, not knowing just how powerful Hao Jian's phone call was to make Boss Gu, renowned for his formidable business presence in Yun City, bow his head in apology.

Too astonishing, all of this was truly incredible, everyone was stunned watching this, partly disbelieving yet unable to react.

Hao Jian wore a mischievous grin, facing Father Gu's pleas, he laughed and said, "Oh no, it's just a surprise. Uncle, no need to be like this; if you think it's not enough, I can surprise you with a few more!"

Upon hearing this, Father Gu lost all his previous aura, hurriedly shaking his head and saying, "No, no, this one is enough."

With just one phone call, his business empire was on the verge of collapsing, now just barely clinging to life. If there were another surprise, another phone call, wouldn't he be utterly finished? Although he still didn't know who exactly Hao Jian was, as Old Yu had said, he had kicked an iron plate this time, causing all his long-term business partners to leave him one after another.

So, no matter what, Hao Jian was someone he couldn't afford to offend.

Once again, he pleaded, "Brother, Uncle was just joking with you, this surprise isn't necessary, you see, why not take it back."

Upon hearing this, Hao Jian immediately showed an angry face, glaring and saying, "If you say it like that, doesn't it mean you don't like this surprise!"

Father Gu hurriedly changed his words, "No, no, it's not that, it's that I can't bear it!"

Though in his heart he was thinking otherwise, who would like such a surprise? Those who enjoy such surprises are simply not normal people. However, these words he only dared to think in his heart, absolutely not daring to say them out loud, otherwise, all would be lost.

Hao Jian coldly laughed, saying, "So, you do like it, right? If you like it, I'll immediately send you another one."

Father Gu was terrified, and even Mother Gu was deeply frightened by Hao Jian's words. Despite being just a woman, with her experience shared alongside Father Gu in the business world over the years, she could clearly see that the student she had dismissed earlier was someone she absolutely couldn't afford to offend now.

Because just at that instant, her years of built business empire was nearly crumbling.

Father Gu dared not even say anything further, standing there in shock. Meanwhile, others listening to their exchanges were a bit lost, not knowing what they were discussing, only aware that the previously arrogant Father Gu was suddenly left speechless by Hao Jian.

From this conversation, Father Gu understood Hao Jian couldn't be easily dismissed like an ordinary student. Typically, when a student was nudged by him, they surely would let him go, but Hao Jian didn't; he wasn't at all swayed by Father Gu's words. Instead, he maintained an unfathomable demeanor, making Father Gu fearful, deeply fearful. For decades, he rivaled seasoned figures in the business world, yet now he couldn't read the thoughts of a student, couldn't discern whether his smile was genuine or fake—deep fear engulfed him completely.

Perhaps others couldn't comprehend his mindset now, but he himself knew all too well just how afraid he was at this moment.

He dared not continue his chicanery with Hao Jian anymore; as an experienced person, he knew that continuing these meaningless conversations would only humiliate himself. So, he looked at Hao Jian and straightforwardly said, "Brother, isn't it better to have another friend than an enemy? There's no real deep grudge between you and me, why not let me off the hook this once? I, Gu, apologize for previous matters, wouldn't you give me face, forgive and forget, retract the call for the sake of selling me face?"

Hao Jian originally thought Father Gu had intentions to beat around the bush with him for longer, surprised to find him so impatient, revealing the topic so directly after such a short time. He had intended to continue bantering for a while, to see what dribbles might spill from Father Gu's mouth.

Upon hearing this, Hao Jian's face turned sour immediately, with no intention of saving face, saying, "Sell you face? What weight does your face hold, does it weigh the same as a dog's?"

This time Hao Jian blatantly compared Father Gu to a dog, which was traditionally a method of humiliating someone. What was crucial was that he questioned whether Father Gu's face weighs more than a dog's. Meaning overtly, Father Gu's face is less valuable than a dog's.

This was humiliation, live humiliation, entirely putting Father Gu down before everyone present. Even the simplest individuals, upon hearing Hao Jian's blunt words, could understand.

"Pfft!" Liang Xiaohan among the crowd couldn't contain herself anymore and laughed.

She knew Hao Jian best among them, knowing fully well that once someone offends Hao Jian, and if he retaliates, he will make that person feel utmost ashamed, a sight she loved witnessing. Therefore, witnessing Hao Jian retaliate and shame Father Gu, she immediately began heckling him from the sidelines.

Initially, she only intended to rile up at the right moment, but hearing Hao Jian compare Father Gu to a dog, she simply couldn't help but laugh out loud.

Following Liang Xiaohan's lead in laughter, a large group followed suit, leaving Father Gu looking embarrassed. Yet he knew clearly, at this moment, he couldn't lose his temper, as losing it would mean all his years of effort were in vain.

Thus, he had to hold back.

Nevertheless, at this instant, Mother Gu couldn't restrain herself upon hearing Hao Jian's mocking comparison. She rushed forward, pointing and cursing at Hao Jian, saying, "You shameless fellow, who let you speak like this, if you continue like this, I'll have someone break your filthy mouth."

"Smack!" Yet, before her words finished, suddenly a slap landed on her face with a loud smack heard by nearly everyone present.

Then immediately, Father Gu's voice roared in anger, "You wretched woman, who told you to speak nonsense, shut up, you hear?!"

Mother Gu held her face, in disbelief; for many years, Father Gu never hit or scolded her, yet at this moment, he not only hit but scolded her too—she couldn't contain her anger.

Holding her face, she asked Father Gu, "You actually hit me?"

Father Gu was furious, although Mother Gu indeed assisted him in business, effectively being a supportive wife, yet he didn't understand why at such a critical moment she couldn't keep her calm, nearly ruining things. Therefore, he couldn't restrain himself, slapping her.

Afterwards, regret welled within him, privately cursing that indeed women are women, hard to present at such critical junctures. Yet when Mother Gu obliviously questioned him again, he found himself unable to control his temper.

"Smack!" Another vehement slap landed on Mother Gu's face.

Mother Gu was bewildered, those beside looked equally bewildered, wondering at this development—how mere words from Mother Gu led Father Gu to slap her.

Moreover, he appeared truly furious, rage-filled. Weren't they a couple, wasn't it expected they'd be aligned, yet the plot had suddenly taken an opposite turn.

Including the principal and vice-principal, they knew this couple best. Normally, if their son bullied others, they'd remain indifferent likely resolving things with money as long as their son was fine. But if anyone dared bully their son, they would ensure that person faced double punishment.

This time was the first they'd seen the couple quarrel over a single individual, and Father Gu even slapped Mother Gu directly, and twice at that.

Previously, this was utterly impossible.

Everyone showed astonished expressions, including Mother Gu, unsure why Father Gu suddenly hit her.
