Supremely Talented Tyrant
Chapter 2186 - 2387: My Money Will Last Me Several Lifetimes!
Because of the big fuss Hao Jian caused on Friday, when he came to class today, the whole class's attention was basically focused on him. Ever since he entered the classroom and sat down, although dozens of pairs of eyes weren't staring at him all the time, nor dared to do so, many people were still observing him from the corners of their eyes.
So, when Li Weiwei suddenly appeared in the classroom shouting Hao Jian's name, almost everyone's gaze in that moment was drawn to Li Weiwei by the sound. Then, all at once, they shifted towards Hao Jian.
"I..." Hao Jian stood up surprised.
"Come out with me!" Li Weiwei's temper was explosive, and she said it before directly walking out.
Hao Jian was still dumbfounded at his spot. Although he wasn't afraid of Li Weiwei, he was a bit unsure of how to deal with her in this state. He hesitated a moment, then organized his words in his mind, because Li Weiwei would surely come to hold him accountable for skipping class yesterday. When he had prepared his response in his mind, he walked out.
Li Weiwei was waiting outside; she gave him a look and walked toward the office. Hao Jian followed her.
At the moment, there were no other teachers in the office; Li Weiwei directly sat down in the chair looking quite angry. Hao Jian hurriedly closed the door, then nodded and bowed as he approached Li Weiwei, almost in a posture of begging for forgiveness. But he wasn't really apologizing; he was just lowering his own status.
"Speak, whatever you have to say, say it quickly, explain everything clearly. Otherwise, you won't have a chance later. If you say it now, you might salvage the situation a bit. If I say my piece, humph, then bear the consequences!" Li Weiwei immediately adopted a confrontational stance.
Hao Jian was bewildered. Speak? Speak what? Weren't you the one who called me over? Why, when I get here, am I the one who has to speak? Although Li Weiwei called him over, it couldn't be for anything else but skipping class yesterday. So, he quickly reorganized the set of words he had prepared just now in his mind.
He smiled and said, "Well... On the day before yesterday, everything was fine, but yesterday morning, I woke up feeling dizzy, feverish, with a cold. I felt terribly unwell, nearly fainted in the bathroom while brushing my teeth. I forced myself to take some medicine and even forgot to ask for leave, then I just fell asleep on the bed."
"After falling asleep, I woke up in the evening, saw your numerous missed calls and messages, and only then did I remember the matter. If it weren't for the illness and fever making me nearly faint while walking, I definitely wouldn't have skipped class yesterday." After a pause, Hao Jian expressed with apparent sincerity.
Unexpectedly, Li Weiwei wasn't buying it. She slapped the desk with her palm all of a sudden, shaking the table, which startled Hao Jian.
"Am I talking about this matter!" Li Weiwei was clearly furious, "Let's put this aside for now and first clarify that other matter."
That other matter? Which matter? Hao Jian originally thought Li Weiwei summoned him over, fuming, because of skipping class yesterday, but hearing her, it seemed like it wasn't just skipping class that got him here. Something else was going on.
He was puzzled; another matter? What matter? Although he had an inkling about something, he couldn't connect the dots, thinking it couldn't be that issue, so he pretended to be clueless.
"What matter?" He asked aloud.
"Which matter?" Li Weiwei suddenly stood up, "You say, which matter!"
Before Hao Jian could say anything, Li Weiwei was already glaring at him in anger, saying, "What did you do on Friday? Don't you know in your heart? And now you're pretending, thinking that nobody knows? With this matter causing such a fuss, how could it be that nobody knows!"
Baffled, Hao Jian was instantly dumbfounded. He completely didn't expect Li Weiwei to angrily summon him for this matter; how did she know about this?
What Hao Jian didn't know was that, in fact, Li Weiwei didn't exactly know about it either. It's just that on Friday, because she had some matters, she stayed at the school a bit longer, leaving later than usual. By then, there were hardly any teachers left, and students who wanted to cause trouble would choose that time, when there were no teachers to stop them, to act.
Unexpectedly, it happened to be that day when Li Weiwei had affairs making her leave late, and as soon as she left the school gate, she saw a large group of students gathered, discussing something unknown. As a teacher, she found such scenes familiar; a group of students meant something was up.
Originally, she didn't want to meddle and planned to drive off directly. But suddenly, she heard Hao Jian, Gu Peng's names being discussed in the crowd. Surprise overtook her as she parked her car and observed for a while, only then learning what had transpired. However, by the time she knew, the matter had already concluded, leaving her unable to intervene.
She secretly remembered Hao Jian's name; oh, how it troubled her —new to the school, already causing such a big ruckus. Immediately, she resolved to find Hao Jian for a good talk come Monday's class. But who would've thought, Hao Jian directly skipped class Monday, so her anger was enormous today.
But as for Hao Jian, he was bewildered—the time and location entirely isolated in a way hard for him to suspect; how did Li Weiwei know about it? He felt a bit dazed, could it be Gu Peng lacked Jianghu ethics, lost the fight, and then reported to the homeroom teacher for revenge?
"How do you know?" Hao Jian asked curiously.
Li Weiwei directly knocked on his head and said, "How do I know? Shouldn't you be giving me a reasonable explanation? As a student, to be involved in fights at school, and even send the person to the hospital, you're quite something, aren't you? Instead of telling me what is going on, you're questioning me?"
Hao Jian quickly waved his hands and said, "I wouldn't dare!"
From Li Weiwei's tone, it was clear something was off, so how could he dare say more? At this moment, Li Weiwei stared at him and said, "If you were going to fight, you fought. But how did you put them in the hospital? Now their parents know, what are you going to do? How will you explain it to their parents?"
Hearing this, Hao Jian had a helpless expression. This... it seemed he hadn't thought about it.
Li Weiwei suddenly became much more serious, and asked in a stern tone, "And how did you get to know those street gangsters? I heard you didn't call anyone from school to back you up, but instead got those street gangsters. Do you have that kind of influence? Then why are you still attending school and taking classes? Just go mix in the streets, wouldn't that be more dazzling?"
Upon hearing this, Hao Jian just laughed. He knew Li Weiwei was concerned about him, otherwise, she wouldn't put on such a serious face; she was worried about this matter. He smiled and had already thought of the wording in his mind, then explained, "Hey, calm down first, I'll slowly explain it to you."
Though Li Weiwei still looked angry, she sat down when Hao Jian said this.
Hao Jian said, "This is how it went down, Gu Peng, relying on his family's influence, swaggered around school, and repeatedly came to trouble me. You know, I'm quite impulsive, and I'm certainly not going to let it go if someone messes with me, so I fought back. He was the one causing trouble initially."
Hao Jian particularly explained, "Then the grudges accumulated over time, and he challenged me to a duel at the back mountain. I thought it would be great to solve the problem once and for all, so I agreed. You know he's got a lot of people in school, and I've only been here a month and don't know anyone. Of course, he could call people from school, so I had to call people from outside."
"How did you call them? Just by talking?" Li Weiwei asked suspiciously.
Hao Jian made a money-counting gesture with his big hand and said, "Money makes the mare go. There's nothing in this world money can't solve."
"Money?" Li Weiwei furrowed her brows, "How much money could you, a student, have? It's all given by your parents anyway."
Hao Jian made a negating gesture and said, "No, no, no, all the money is earned by myself. It's not much, just enough for a few lifetimes of extravagant living without running out."
Although he said it like that, he wasn't lying. If you talk about his money, it could really last a few lifetimes without running out now.
Li Weiwei just took it as if Hao Jian was joking and said, "Go lie to ghosts, speak the truth quickly, or I'll get angry with all this nonsense."
Hao Jian shook his head helplessly, what he said was really the truth, how else could he make her believe?
He made a gesture as he said, "Believe it or not!"
Li Weiwei was angry and slapped the back of Hao Jian's head, saying, "Say that one more time, I dare you!"
Hao Jian looked aggrieved and said, "I'm really telling the truth, I didn't lie to you."
"Didn't lie to me?" Li Weiwei was clearly not convinced.
In her eyes, Hao Jian was just an ordinary student, rich? Enough to last several lifetimes? Go lie to ghosts! If you're really that rich, why are you even attending school, and she's been to places where Hao Jian went. Would a rich person live in such a place? She clearly didn't believe it.
Hao Jian nodded seriously with a straight face, saying, "Really, why would I lie to you?"
Li Weiwei deeply believed Hao Jian was lying to her, so she stopped repeating the topic with him.
