Chapter 2864 - 2864: Guardian Gods in Retreat

The crowd was stunned, feeling that the Dragon Emperor used those Guardian Gods like donkeys to pull a cart.

"Dragon Emperor, you're being too outrageous!" The Eternal Divine Emperor curled his lips: "I sent you to capture people, why did you do this?"

"This is something I've wanted to do for a long time!" The Supreme Dragon Emperor said triumphantly: "These Guardian Gods captured so many of my people to use as beasts of burden. Now that I, the Dragon Lord, am also the Strongest, it's time for revenge for my people. In the future, I will capture the strongest Guardian Gods to pull my cart—now that's imposing!"

The crowd was speechless for a moment, realizing the Supreme Dragon Emperor harbored deep grievances.

Among the Guardian Gods brought back by the Supreme Dragon Emperor, there were two at the Heavenly Realm level, considered the strongest among these Guardian Gods.

Su Yang dispersed these people and specifically brought those two Heavenly Realm experts over to inquire about what had happened.

Of the two, one looked utterly blank, clearly knowing nothing. But the other one seemed to know something, yet pretended to be ignorant, acting deaf and dumb in front of Su Yang.

Su Yang did not hold back with him, promptly torturing him a bit, and this Guardian God immediately became honest.

In fact, this Guardian God was also previously imprisoned in the dungeon, but his location was relatively close to the outside. Therefore, he was aware of some of the outside events.

According to this man, when they were initially locked in the dungeon, there suddenly was a huge sound coming from the air outside, telling all the Guardian Gods to immediately leave their original position and flee into the Great World. Otherwise, everyone would die there.

And the person who said this was none other than the First God!

If anyone else had spoken these words, the Guardian Gods surely wouldn't have taken it seriously, thinking it was a deliberate scare tactic. However, coming from the First God, the impact was different.

Thus, the outside Guardian Gods couldn't care about anything, not even packing their things, and fled in panic.

And those of them imprisoned in the dungeon were naturally left unattended.

Some were either killed by enemies taking advantage of the moment or rescued by their own, joining the main troop to escape.

The rest were either rootless without enemies, or enemies were too lazy to deal with them, so they remained in the dungeon.

Later, as the outside people left, the sealing power of the dungeon weakened, allowing these people to break free.

However, after they emerged, having been gone for a long time, they had no idea where the previous escapees had fled. So they wandered aimlessly, running in all directions.

When Su Yang and his group arrived earlier, the reason they hadn't encountered these people was that some had indeed fled in the direction they were coming from.

As a result, after running for a period, they discovered traces of a great battle. The aftermath of that battle crushed many people, causing those in later waves to refrain from advancing further, instead heading in the opposite direction.

Listening to what this person described, Su Yang suddenly understood and gained a rough understanding of the situation in the Guardian Land.

It seems that the Heaven Slayer and Buddha Venerable have turned the Guardian Land upside down.

The First God ordered everyone to leave the Guardian Land; this is no small matter.

If it were earlier times, these Guardian Gods leaving the Guardian Land would not have mattered. After all, throughout the Great World, there was sufficient Spiritual Energy for them to use.

However, now, after so many World Trees have fused, the Great World's space has expanded significantly, and its Spiritual Energy has become extremely sparse.

Even the Strongest cannot absorb enough Spiritual Energy to sustain themselves, let alone ordinary cultivators.

If these ordinary cultivators went into the Great World, aside from those at the Heavenly Peak or the Advanced Heavenly Realm, others basically have no survival ability. Once their Spiritual Energy is depleted, they are as good as dead.

Even for Heavenly Peak powerhouses, in the Great World, safety is not guaranteed. With countless such Blood Shadows in the Great World, one encounter can instantaneously wipe out even Heavenly Peak powerhouses.

Thus, at this point, the First God having these Guardian Gods scatter and flee into the Great World is effectively akin to killing them.

Out of all these Guardian Gods fleeing into the Great World, how many would ultimately survive? A few percent, or maybe one in a thousand, or possibly one in ten thousand?

The First God decided this course of action, showing just how perilous the situation was. So many Blood Shadows surged into the Guardian Land, threatening to quickly massacre all the Guardian Gods here. If the First God had not quickly made a decisive decision, how many Guardian Gods would still remain now?

The Guardian Gods observed Su Yang fall silent, each one shivering in fear. Surrounded by the Strongest all over, any one of them could easily crush them; they had absolutely no idea what fate awaited them.

Judging by the enmity between the Guardian Gods and the Human Clan, the probability that the Human Clan would spare them was very low indeed!

So, these people's hearts were full of anxiety. In the face of absolute power, who wouldn't be afraid?

After a long time, Su Yang finally spoke, saying softly, "Continue onward, to the Immortal Palace!"

"And what about these people?" The Supreme Dragon Emperor glared at those Guardian Gods: "Should I deal with them all?"

The Guardian Gods almost lost control, trembling in fear at the Supreme Dragon Emperor's imposing presence that made standing nearly impossible.

Su Yang glanced at them and shook his head: "They were abandoned by the Guardian Gods; there's no need to kill them. Besides, with the Three Thousand Great Worlds today, who knows how many lives remain? Killing them all would just leave us—we wouldn't have any purpose left."

"Then what should we do?" The Supreme Dragon Emperor's eyes widened immediately: "Should we keep them here? Su Alliance Leader, these are all Guardian Gods!"

The Eternal Divine Emperor also quickly chimed in: "Su Alliance Leader, the enmity between Guardian Gods and the Human Clan is irreconcilable. Although they were abandoned, their hands aren't free from the blood of the Human Clan!"
