Supreme Swordsman System

Chapter 86 New Mission

After eating for two hours straight, the amount of food the three of them had eaten had to be measured in tons.

It was hard to understand how three tiny humans could eat so much without even needing to use the bathroom.

What was even more ridiculous was that their bodies didn’t seem to change at all. The main point was their stomachs. They had eaten that much, yet their stomachs hadn’t even bulged a little.

Damn, how long have I been eating? Eating feels great, but my old body had a very limited capacity. With my current body, I can really eat as much as I want.

Just eating had somehow made King think about all sorts of things. At one point, he even wondered whether the appetites of high-level cultivators could cause a global food crisis.

“Hey, don’t cultivators cause a food crisis by eating so much?”

Thinking about it himself was less useful than asking the locals. This random, tricky question had no deeper purpose, but King wanted to know the answer.

“Tsk, you’re even curious about something as simple as eating?”

Since Iris was eating, she had no interest in thinking about these headache-inducing questions. Ever since she became a cultivator, she had always spent more time using her hands and feet than her brain.

“Haha, it’s not that bad. We still know our limits. As long as we’re enjoying ourselves, there’s no need to eat until we’re actually full.”

Unlike Iris, Mateo answered quite casually. He even said more than King needed to know.

“It’s not like there are no problems. Low-rank cultivators with low talent recover spiritual power rather slowly, so they need to eat to replenish it. But don’t worry, humanity’s current level of farming and animal husbandry is probably far beyond what you can imagine.”

After hearing Mateo’s words, a very ‘saintly’ thought suddenly popped into King’s head. It was so ‘saintly’ that even he found it ridiculous.

But this overly ‘saintly’ question also made him curious. More precisely, he wanted to know whether this Earth was similar to the Earth he used to live on.

“Hey, if high-level cultivators don’t eat excessively, could they put an end to world hunger?”

As soon as he asked this question, Mateo and Iris immediately widened their eyes. The most absurd thing was the person asking the question, not the question itself.

“Have you eaten so much that your brain’s gone fuzzy?”

Iris stared at King with wide eyes as if she were looking at an alien. Mateo’s expression wasn’t much different.

“Hey, are you serious? Are you trying to become a politician or a philanthropist?”

I was just asking casually. Why are you two making such a big deal out of it?

Seeing the strange looks on their faces, King’s eyelids twitched.

“Hmph, I’m just curious. I’m comparing two worlds. If this world doesn’t have any famine at all, then it’s definitely much better than the place I used to live in.”

Hearing King speak as if he had so much life experience, Iris frowned and asked.

“Have you ever gone hungry?”

“Mm…”

King immediately nodded, making Iris suddenly feel a little sorry for him… just a little. After all, going hungry was no pleasant experience for an ordinary person.

But before she or Mateo could say anything comforting, King immediately shattered the feelings that had just arisen in their hearts.

“That day, I was so engrossed in reading a novel that I read straight from morning until night. Nobody was selling food at that hour, and there was nothing left at home either. So I had no choice but to drink water, endure the hunger, and try to sleep until the next day.”

As he spoke, King sighed as if he had truly suffered. With that punchable expression on his face, Iris immediately realized he was deliberately messing with her.

“Hmph, I knew it. You bastard aren’t someone worth feeling sorry for.”

“Me? Feeling sorry for? That’s nonsense.

I’ve never known what sadness feels like in my entire life. The power to choose has always been mine!”

A man who had never once experienced what it was like to be rich or successful before transmigrating was now speaking so boldly, as if he had once had everything.

“It’s not that serious. The main issue is that no one knows how to rescue tribes or groups of people living in remote places cut off from the outside world. Besides, there are also a bunch of idiots who are human but live like wild beasts and don’t know how to appreciate kindness.”

Although Mateo knew King wasn’t being serious at all, he still answered seriously. He had plenty of free time right now, so saying a few more words wasn’t a problem.

“Tsk, what’s the point of talking about idiots? There’s trash like that everywhere. I can’t be bothered to care.”

The disdain on King’s face was obvious. His contempt seemed to have very clear levels for different types of people in this ‘fictional’ world.

“Forget these unpleasant things. Are you two free? I’m planning to go to London for some fun later. Going to an underground arena to fight or gamble sounds pretty interesting too.”

When talking about the underworld and gambling, Mateo had such a cheerful smile that he sounded like he was talking about some healthy pastime.

“There’s a place like that in London?”

For a moment, King was surprised that he knew where London was. But after thinking it over, in a world where humans possessed godlike power, organizing some unofficial fistfights wasn’t anything unusual.

“Of course. This place runs a proper business, offers fun entertainment, has real fights, and even knows how to put on a show while fighting. Anyway, it’s a lot of fun. Coming with me? I’ll pay.”

Money wasn’t a problem for Mateo. As long as he found something fun, he was willing to spend money no matter how unreasonable the cost.

“How could I not be free? As it happens, I want to travel abroad too.”

King had never been to London in his entire life. He hadn’t even seen Big Ben with his own eyes before.

[Master!]

As soon as King finished speaking, the system suddenly shouted. There was no red alert or anything else that suggested a problem, making King frown.

“What?”

[The protagonist of the Flat Sea World is about to face danger. You need to go and save him.]

[You don’t have much time left. Please prepare your outfit and teleportation destination carefully before departing.]

“Hey, what are you talking about? Are you talking to that system?”

Judging by King’s gaze, Mateo immediately realized he was looking at something invisible. The existence of the system made him very curious.
