Chapter 25: 25 - You Know Too Much

Things were getting more and more strange, but Elias just kept grinning like an idiot and believing everything Pip and Bob said.

King’s eyes looked like they were about to burst into flames at this moment. The frustration in his heart kept rising like when he read novels with extremely frustrating plots.

"Damn it! Is this guy the protagonist? Is he blind, deaf, or stupid? One guy is tall and skinny, the other is fat and round, and their faces look extremely cunning. Fuck, even without an introduction, any normal person can tell those two are bad guys. Yet this idiot just blindly does everything they say."

Even though he now possessed rank III, 3-star strength, King felt like he was about to have a heart attack from anger.

The ’peak’ intelligence of the great reader now felt extremely insulted. Was this world’s Heavenly Dao insane or something to choose someone like this as the protagonist?

[Master, please calm down. Isn’t it precisely because the protagonist is a little stupid that he needs your help?]

The moment the system finished speaking, it saw King roll his eyes at it. The contempt on his face was so obvious that the system had to fall silent.

"You call this a little stupid? I think he’s intellectually disabled."

King curled his lips in disdain. As for some protagonist or whatever, he only looked at him with half an eye.

Between the protagonist and the reader, who was better? Of course, the person paying the authors had a much higher status.

Even while cursing, King kept staring at Elias. No matter how stupid this protagonist was, he still had to save him to complete the mission.

"System, is this the danger Elias will encounter? Then I can just kill those two right now and be done with it, right?"

[No. This isn’t any danger at all. When there is real danger, the system will notify you. Only then can you complete the mission.]

Hearing the system say that, King didn’t rush and continued watching the show. He wanted to see how this stupid protagonist would fall down such a steep cliff and still survive.

Just as expected, Elias really stood in front of the steep cliff like an idiot and lowered his head to look around.

"Where is it? My eyesight is a little bad, so I can’t see it."

At this point, he still thought the problem was with his eyes rather than Pip and Bob. This innocence had probably reached its absolute limit.

"Hmph, idiot."

Pip sneered, then he and Bob kicked hard, sending Elias straight down the cliff. From this height, Elias was definitely dead, so the two of them didn’t bother checking and just laughed loudly together.

"Hahaha, what a piece of trash. Someone like you could never become a mage. Why would our goddess Seraphine ever waste her time on you?"

"Hmph, the more I think about it, the angrier I get. This bastard dared to have designs on our goddess, so he deserves to die."

"Now this is great. Without him getting in the way, goddess Seraphine will shine even brighter."

The two crazed fans had just finished killing someone, yet they high-fived each other and laughed loudly to celebrate their victory. Of course, the goddess in their hearts knew nothing about this, and they didn’t even bother taking credit for it.

That’s how brainless fans are. They secretly act for their idol without caring about what their idol actually thinks.

Watching the protagonist of this world get tricked like a three-year-old, King’s eyelids twitched a few times. His reaction wasn’t too big because he hadn’t expected much from Elias.

"Seraphine is the female lead, right? Is she blind, or is there something wrong with her head that she’d fall for him?"

From the information Pip and Bob provided, King roughly guessed that the female lead was a genius mage from the academy.

This was probably the usual trope where the genius female lead falls for the trash protagonist early on, then the protagonist rises up and takes her to the top with him.

[That’s right. As for her intelligence, I think you’re judging her a little too early. What if the protagonist has some amazing quality? After all, how could a real idiot and piece of trash possibly be the protagonist?]

Hearing that, King gently stroked his chin with a thoughtful look on his face. What the system said made a lot of sense. Usually, protagonists looked like complete trash at first, but after getting their cheat, they became very active.

Seeing Pip and Bob about to leave, King felt that now was the time for him to step in. This time, he chose to step in very humbly.

First, he had no reason to use a divine skill to kill these two the moment he arrived. Second, transforming into the Heavenly Dao Swordsman state consumed a lot of stamina.

"Skinny bastard, fat pig. You two idiots see me and don’t even say hello?"

The moment he appeared, King didn’t give them any face at all. This was normal. After all, he didn’t even respect someone as powerful as Iris, the strongest human, let alone these two small fry.

Pip and Bob were startled when a young man suddenly appeared, smiling as he blocked their path.

Their eyes quickly scanned King’s strange outfit. No mage robes, and more importantly, no wand... So he was just a trash swordsman.

In this world where mages held the highest status, someone like King who used a sword was trash in everyone’s eyes.

"Tsk, I thought you were someone impressive. Turns out you’re just a lousy knight who can’t even afford a proper sword."

Bob had been startled just a second ago, but in the next second he spat on the ground to show his contempt for someone who only knew how to use a sword.

"I think he just insulted us, right?"

"Idiot! It’s that obvious, and you’re still asking?"

Pip slapped Bob on the head, then stared at King with a murderous gaze. This strange man had definitely seen them kill someone, so they couldn’t let him live.

"Hmph, you bastard know too much. Don’t even think about leaving here."

As they spoke, the two of them pulled out their wands, but before they could cast a spell, King suddenly appeared in front of them.

The wands in their hands had somehow already been cut in half before they could even react.

"Oh, you want to kill me?"
