Supreme Sword Exalt
Chapter 541 - Atavism, Great Demon Bloodline!
Upon hearing that name, Gu Han fell silent for a moment. “Tell me about her.”
The Hehuan Sect Master couldn’t figure out his intentions. “Mo Chenyin seemed to have come from a second-rate force called the Mo family. She had some fame back then too, but for some reason, the Mo family was wiped out, so Master took her in. I’ve seen her once before. She was very, very beautiful. If you searched the entire Tiannan Realm, you wouldn’t find anyone more beautiful than her.”
At this point, her true nature surfaced. “Even though I’m a woman, I couldn’t help but want to... Unfortunately, just like with Leng Yushu, Master kept her under close watch. We could only look but couldn’t taste. And she mysteriously disappeared a thousand years ago. If she were still around, we might’ve had the chance...”
She suddenly felt a chill. Gu Han stared calmly at her, the killing intent in his eyes almost tangible. It was far stronger than when they had fought earlier.
However, she had already retreated to a thousand zhang away from Gu Han, feeling that it was a relatively safe distance. She gritted her teeth. “You’ve asked so many questions. Are you planning to move against the Emotionless Sect?”
Once again, Gu Han’s black sword was shrouded in a layer of red intent.
That young man was scared out of his wits. “Fellow Daoist, think twice!”
The Hehuan Sect Master’s tone shifted sharply as she snapped. “You’ve got some nerve, daring to make an enemy of the Emotionless Sect. Do you really think you have me in your grasp?”
She flipped her hand, and produced that half strand of colorful thread. “Ah Gou, kill them! Otherwise, you’ll never see this thing again!”
Following that, she glanced at Chongming again, reluctance and resolve warring in her eyes. “If I can’t have you, I’ll destroy you!”
From far away, Chongming’s furious voice came over. “Kid, kill that stinking woman!”
Gu Han flickered as he slashed at her.
The Hehuan Sect Master’s expression changed dramatically as she burned the colorful thread again. “Ah Gou, make your move!”
The moment the colorful thread was lit, a towering demonic qi erupted.
That shadow once again took the form of Ah Gou, fixing his gaze on the Hehuan Sect Master. “Give... it... back!”
Demonic qi gathered behind him, transforming into a great demon projection. Chongming tumbled dozens of somersaults and went flying. Even Gu Han was forced to retreat, unable to approach for the time being.
Covered in dust, Chongming cursed loudly, “Fuck! How did this little dog get so strong?!”
As the colorful thread visibly shortened, the Hehuan Sect Master gnashed her teeth. “I told you to kill them! Kill them and I’ll give it to you! If I die, you won’t get it either!”
Something inside Ah Gou seemed to snap. A demonic qi ten times more violent than before exploded, and his appearance underwent a tremendous change.
He had been a boy of eleven or twelve, but his body rapidly expanded, growing into that of a gigantic beast. Over a zhang in length, he was covered in black fur, with sharp fangs and four razor-sharp claws. He kind of resembled a wolf. A single horn sprouted from his head. His black eyes were filled with brutality and savagery. Demonic qi surged to the heavens, almost blotting out the sky itself.
By then, the colorful thread had nearly disappeared.
The Hehuan Sect Master raised the red jade talisman again and barked, “Make your move now, you dog! Or you can forget about getting this thing and keeping your life!”
The giant beast raised his head and howled at the sky. The wild demonic qi scattered in all directions. His black eyes turned blood red, which made Gu Han’s scalp go numb. The giant beast gave him a feeling almost no less than Yun Tu at his peak.
Not far away, that young man had already collapsed into a frightened heap.
Only Chongming remained unfazed. He stared at the giant beast with great interest. “So is this a wolf or a dog? He’s quite a stubborn one... I like it!”
The Hehuan Sect Master felt something was wrong. “Hurry!”
That giant beast had ignored her completely, as though he possessed no rationality whatsoever. His gaze swept over the three people and one rooster, panting heavily, as if wanting to swallow them all at once.
The Hehuan Sect Master was more anxious than anyone else. After all, the moment she lit the colorful thread, she knew there was no turning back. “Make your move! If you don’t kill them, I’ll kill you!”
She gritted her teeth and sent a technique into the jade talisman. A flash of pain passed through the giant beast’s eyes, and the great demon projection began to disperse. With another roar, the projection merged into the giant beast.
As the demonic qi grew even more violent, the giant beast raised his four claws, leaving behind a massive pit thousands of zhang wide and of unknown depth where he had stood. When he reappeared, he was already before the Hehuan Sect Master.
At that moment too, her red jade talisman cracked. Her face went pale. “No way! That’s impossible!”
Looking up at the giant beast looming over her, she offered the fang with only a cun of thread left, pleading, “A-A-Ah Gou, I-I’ll give it back to you, just... forgive me, alright—AAAAH!!”
The giant beast completely ignored her, his gaping maw opening wide before clamping down around her.. Blood sprayed downward, the fang and red jade talisman tumbling down with it.
Chongming’s eyes lit up. He lunged with all his might, swallowing the fang and jade talisman, then sprinted vigorously toward Gu Han.
Gu Han’s scalp went numb again. “Master Rooster, what are you doing?!”
He could clearly see that the giant beast had completely gone berserk, attacking indiscriminately. Chongming’s actions were just asking for trouble.
Chongming was excited. “I am going to raise a dog! This little dog is no ordinary creature!”
Gu Han exclaimed, “What?!”
Chongming glared at him. “What’s with that look! I suffered for over a thousand years. Can’t I enjoy myself a little? Is raising a little dog to play with too much to ask?!”
Gu Han was dumbfounded. He’d heard of people raising dogs, but a rooster raising a dog... Also, this dog was anything but small!
Just as he was about to speak, a sound that made one’s scalp crawl came from nearby. The giant beast was chewing nonstop. Aside from the Hehuan Sect Master’s two long legs, her upper half was mangled beyond recognition. Even Gu Han, who had been through countless battles, couldn’t help but draw in a sharp breath because it was just gruesome.
Her pained, weak voice kept coming out. “Save... save me...”
A Feather Transformation realm cultivator wouldn’t die so easily by nature. Under normal circumstances, she could’ve abandoned her physical body and let her divine soul escape. Yet by some bizarre power, her divine soul was trapped within her body, almost completely fused with her flesh. The giant beast seemed to be devouring both her physical body and divine soul. Hence, her cries were especially miserable.
Not far away, that young man was so enraged his eyes were splitting, almost going mad. “Sect Master, hold on! I’m coming to save you right now!”
He pushed his cultivation to its limit and ran off in the opposite direction until he was out of sight.
Gu Han was speechless.
However, Chongming was thoroughly satisfied. “Serves you right, you stinking woman! That’s what you get for trying to use me as a cultivation vessel! Karma’s come for you! Little dog, bite her! Bite her hard—”
Before he could finish, Gu Han had already grabbed him by the neck and also disappeared into the distance. He could sense that the giant beast’s eyes were turning a bit green, as if he had been hungry for many years.
