Chapter 2408: Overwhelming isn’t it?
"Look who decided to show up, eh?"
Then, Melia heard another voice.
"Brother!"
She rushed into his arms, surprising him as well.
"Woah? You are hugging me? You?"
Lazarus blinked.
It was usually him hugging her, not the other way around.
But—
"Take it."
Melia just glared at him and—
"O-Okay."
Lazarus hugged back obediently.
The next instant, Orpheus appeared as well. Together with him, Lazarus’s wives, Luciana, Esme and Claudia came as well.
"Melia! You are back!"
All of them hugged Melia, who hugged them back with a big smile on her face.
The next instant, the entire family was staring at Noctis, who was watching everyone with a curious gaze.
Melia gently walked towards him and held his hand—
"This is Noctis Leander.
My son."
She introduced and the instant she did, the entire family surrounded the poor boy, showering him with countless questions.
Duke Orpheus, who was usually unfazed by most things, was the first one to pick his grandson up in his arms, while others fought for their turns.
...
Rune and her daughter Sable were standing in front of Oberon and Felix Feline, both of them were staring at the two with shocked looks on their faces.
Rune’s ears lowered as she saw them, for all her strength, for all she had become, seeing the two of them still touched something old inside her.
"Rune..."
Oberon walked forward slowly, his old body trembling.
"Father."
Rune greeted, her emerald eyes turned moist. In the end, she dashed towards him and jumped into his embrace while making sure she didn’t hurt him.
Felix looked at her, then at Sable and...
"I have many questions."
He spoke. Rune, still hugging her father, looked at him, then she wiped her eyes and—
"You always do."
She smiled.
Felix laughed gently as he picked Sable up in his arms, he could tell who the little thing was without Rune’s introduction.
"Hello~"
He greeted.
Rune smiled at that.
Felix then started introducing his own family.
...
"You seem nervous, Mother."
On the other side, Frostra noticed as they stood in front of the Elven Castle.
"..."
Lyriana didn’t say anything.
Was she nervous?
She was.
She had practically abandoned her daughter to go with Nux and now that she was here, she felt... complex.
She didn’t even know if it was a good idea to be here.
But—
While Lyriana was thinking about all that—
"Mother...?"
A voice was heard.
Lyriana turned and her eyes fell on a woman who seemed like her exact replica.
It was Ariana.
Lyriana’s eyes widened, Ariana was no different.
"It really is you!!"
Ariana exclaimed as she rushed towards her.
Lyriana flinched, not knowing how she was supposed to react, Frostra gently held her hand, nudging her forward.
Lyriana felt strange being supported by an eleven-year-old, but in the end, she stopped thinking about it altogether and just hugged her daughter who had already jumped into her embrace.
"I missed you!!"
Ariana spoke as she tightened her hug around her. Those words pierced through Lyriana’s heart—
"I am sorry for leaving you."
She spoke with moist eyes as she gently patted her daughter’s hair.
"No. You have nothing to be apologetic for."
"I—"
"Mother, you chose yourself for once in your entire life, you deserved it."
Ariana spoke with a serious look on her face. Then, she smiled and—
"And look at you now, you now seem stronger than any being I’ve met, even Lady Vyriana that I knew wouldn’t be your match right now."
Ariana praised as she hugged her again.
Then, her eyes fell on Frostra, who was observing her silently and she blinked.
"Mother...? Is she...?"
She looked at Lyriana although she had already picked it up.
Lyriana nodded with a light smile—
"She’s your sister, Frostra Leander."
Ariana’s eyes brightened.
"Frostra..."
She repeated the name as she pulled her cheeks.
"Aahh!"
Frostra pouted and Ariana laughed.
"Wait a minute."
She looked at her mother with an excited look on her face and brought out a Call Artifact.
[What is it?]
A voice was heard.
Lyriana recognized it.
It was Elijah Sky, the Vampire Prince and Ariana’s husband.
"Come back."
Ariana ordered.
[I can’t. You know I a—]
"Boy, I told you to come back, so you better and bring Lyriana with you. There’s someone I want her to meet."
Lyriana raised her eyebrow at that, Ariana grinned at her and nodded.
[Who are you thinking of flexing your daughter in front of now?]
The Vampire Prince sighed.
"Just come quickly okay? Pleasee?"
[Alright, alright, I am coming.]
Elijah nodded and the call ended.
"Just wait."
Ariana looked at her mother and grinned.
"You will love her."
Lyriana didn’t know how to react.
Ariana then took Lyriana and Frostra to the Royal Mansion, showing everything to Frostra on her way.
Within a few hours, Elijah came with their daughter, Lyriana Frostwillow. Lyriana met her granddaughter and felt overwhelmed. Frostra and Lyriana, since they were nearly the same age, quickly became friends as well.
Other women who were simply moving around Yrniel together with their children were having a great time as well.
Yrniel was... definitely different than other worlds they had been to.
It was home to most of them, so it had a form of nostalgia to it, others simply found it amusing that this was where Nux and others from his family were from.
Yrniel’s blue sky, despite being much smaller than most worlds Nux had been through at this point, had... a strange sense of ease around it.
A place where he didn’t have to worry about anything.
A place where old family members, old friends, old names they had not heard for a long while could gather together.
Some of these people recognized Nux and were shocked by how different he felt, some did not even understand what he had become, some looked at his wives, some stared at his children.
Nux’s family saw a lot of new faces as well, Royce, Rislith, Maline, Lazarus, Felix, Ariana, they all had new family members in their families, many children were of the same age as Nux’s children, so new friends were made.
Questions came from every direction, tears fell, laughter followed, for once, no one was fighting, no one was dying, no Universe was collapsing.
Azriel stood a few meters away from the gathering, watching Samael talk with other children with... a complicated look on his face.
"Overwhelming isn’t it?"
