Chapter 2327 It has been a while, Tenzin.
"I do not know what he does with those worlds, or how he even devours them in the first place, but whatever it is—
It is making him stronger.
And your war is only lowering the defenses of other Worlds, making it easier for him to devour more, while you should be doing the opposite and stopping him from devouring any more."
Zylarith spoke with a serious look on his face, as if he were giving them directions. Seraphielle, however, just snorted.
"You talk as if we didn't try it."
Zylarith looked at her and she just sighed—
"He is… quick.
The Universe cannot sense his presence, nor can we.
That is also the reason he can appear in any world, devour it, and disappear. By the time we know what has happened, it is already over.
We have tried everything, we gave our worlds artifacts, even Eternity Relics, to communicate the moment they sensed something was wrong, but they never get the chance to do anything.
From the recordings he has been spreading, it seems like he takes them into a dimension where none of the calling artifacts or relics work.
We assume that this dimension is in another Universe, a Universe he is part of. This is also the reason we aren't able to find it."
The Infinity of Light explained.
Well, more than an explanation, it was like she was ranting about her own troubles. All this while, she had been keeping all this frustration to herself, because she knew the other Infinities would just laugh at her situation.
But now…
Now as she talked about the Anomaly and how every single one of them listened with serious looks on their faces—
She felt… validated.
That she wasn't in this problem because she was weak, she was just… facing a pesky enemy who could not be caught.
But then—
"He is not part of any other Universe."
Zylarith corrected confidently.
"He is my son. I met him, I sensed his presence, I sensed his connection with our Universe."
"Then why does the Universe consider him to be a threat?"
Seraphielle countered.
"I do not know."
And Zylarith answered honestly.
"You said it yourself, Zylarith. The last time you met him, he was barely a Sovereign. Now he is at the very least an Eternal, even if not a long time has passed since then, your child has changed. Admit it, there are things about him that you do not understand."
Ul'Thakar spoke with a serious look on his face.
Zylarith wanted to counter those words, he wanted to say that he was still in control but…
He would be lying if he said that, he had lost control over Nux the moment that boy broke his connection with the system he built and freed himself.
Since then, things have only been going awry and at a certain point, even he couldn't sense him. At first, he thought that Vampire was protecting him but…
That doesn't seem to be the case now.
Another Universe…
Zylarith began thinking.
Was it really possible?
Was his son… truly connected with another Universe…?
But why?
Zylarith had more than one conversation with that boy, and those conversations were more than enough for him to understand that the boy was… stubborn.
He wouldn't work for someone—
Not unless he got something incredibly valuable from them.
Is it a woman…?
Zylarith wondered in his head.
He had already seen how much of a fool that boy was when it came to his women.
Did the other Universe have one of his women?
Or had he fallen for one from the other Universe and was being used?
The moment Zylarith started thinking from that angle, his face turned even more solemn. If there really was another Universe behind that boy, they needed to stop him even more urgently.
"We need to move."
After a few minutes of silence, Zylarith spoke up.
"What do you mean? Move where?"
Ul'Thakar narrowed his eyes.
"We need to capture him."
"The Anomaly?"
"Yes."
Zylarith nodded.
Then, he began explaining.
"If there truly is another Universe behind him, then we need information regarding that Universe, information only he has. We need to prepare for a far worse war than the current one."
The rest of the Infinities stayed silent. Zylarith continued—
"If there is one good thing that can be derived from him, it is that the other Universe is weaker than us."
"How can you be so sure of that?"
The Infinities questioned.
"They have been attacking our Universe for more than a hundred years now, they have spies, they have people that Nux has devoured for them, they have basic knowledge regarding our Universe.
Especially the number of Infinities we have, yet even then, they haven't attacked. Instead, they are trying to weaken us. It is obvious, if they were stronger than us, they wouldn't waste time with these trivialities and give us time to prepare for their attack."
"What if… they simply wish to weaken us so it would be easier to sweep through our Universe in one go without incurring their own losses?"
Orravyn pointed out, pointing out flaws in Zylarith's theory but Zylarith just waved his hand at those words—
"If you continue to think that way, you will remain frozen your entire life.
You focus too much on the negatives, you will almost never find a situation with no downsides or assumptions.
Take action, planning is good, but adapting that plan according to the situation is a better, more important skill to have."
"I am not here to seek your guidance."
Orravyn spoke bluntly. Zylarith looked at him and just shrugged.
Then, he answered Orravyn's question—
"Our assumptions don't matter, once we capture him, we can get all the information we need from him."
"Again, catching him isn't as easy as you think it is. Even if we work together, there is no way for us to sense him or predict his movements."
Orravyn countered.
"All you have done since you contacted us is talk, most of which is empty. You bring information that is outdated, most of it just sounds completely bogus, and now you are trying to command us while bringing absolutely nothing to the table."
He let all his frustration out.
And this time, the other Infinities were with him. Even they were getting tired now, Zylarith acted like someone who understood the situation better than they did, revealed some information, half of which couldn't even be used, while his mind wasn't able to comprehend the core of the problem.
Or at least, that was the impression they had but—
"Who said I bring nothing to the table?"
"Huh…?"
Orravyn tilted his head in confusion. Then, as if he wanted to entertain this line of thought—
"Then what do you bring to the table?"
He asked.
And Zylarith—
"A way to capture the Anomaly."
And the moment he said those words, the Four Infinities present all widened their eyes in surprise.
…
"AAGGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!"
Inside a simple, regular-sized room, with normal beige walls, a mat placed on the floor instead of a bed, and a small window, a woman with no hair screamed in horror.
A little further away from her, a purple-skinned being with long ears, a bald head and a white mark on his head, was sitting with his eyes closed, meditating silently, but the instant he heard the woman's scream, he instantly opened his eyes and looked at her in panic.
"What happened?"
He asked in a hurried voice, but even when he spoke quickly, the sense of calmness in his tone couldn't be hidden.
However, the moment his eyes fell on the woman beside him, who had already brought a knife near her throat and was ready to sever her head—
He activated his powers and slowed the time around her to the point where she stopped. He then stood up and grabbed her hand. The time around the woman returned to normal, but the only difference was that the purple-skinned man was now holding her hand.
And that made her horrified eyes panic even further—
"Master Tenzin! Please! Please let me die, I beg you—"
She practically begged as tears came out of her eyes. Tenzin read her face with the same calmness, almost as if calmness had been instilled into him for trillions of years and—
"What happened? Why are you doing this?"
He asked calmly.
"You do not understand! They are coming! They are coming for me!!"
"Who are you talking about?"
Tenzin asked again, wanting a clear answer. The woman, however, did not answer, she tried to self-explode, to end herself in one of the most painful ways possible.
But again, Tenzin simply slowed the time inside her body, making it so that the self-destruction wouldn't even be activated for the next thousand years.
"Master! Please!—"
The woman begged.
She knew she was powerless against her Master, that if he wanted, there was nothing she could do. She knew that she needed to explain the situation to him.
But there was no time.
And her Master did not understand that—
Tenzin, however, remained calm and—
"I have already slowed the time around us, a hundred thousand years here will only be a second outside. You can talk freely, even if what you have sensed is coming, we still have time."
He spoke in an easy tone, thinking that would calm the panicking woman but—
"No! You don't understand! These are not beings you can resist!!"
"Beings I cannot resist…?"
Tenzin frowned in confusion, who exactly was it that terrified his student so much. He thought inwardly, and just as he did—
"Yes, beings even you cannot resist."
He heard a voice from behind, a voice that was extremely, extremely familiar.
"It has been a while, Tenzin."
The Infinity of Eternity spoke calmly.
