Chapter 2259: I’m here to end the hypocrisy of Light.
Chapter 2259: I’m here to end the hypocrisy of Light.
The recording did not end with the second clip; it continued, and this time, it was even worse.
Inside a massive chamber, a temple vault, piles of resources were stacked like mountains.
Food.
Medicine.
Warm cloth.
Shelter stones.
Supply crystals.
Enough for billions of districts.
A group of starving people knelt outside a gate, begging. Inside the vault stood Auren. Beside him stood beings wearing banners of Light, their heads bowed.
“My lord, the southern district is collapsing. The children are dying.”
One priest spoke lightly.
Auren stared at the supply mountain.
His expression was thoughtful.
Then he nodded slowly.
“Release aid,”
He said calmly.
The beings exhaled in relief, feeling at ease for their people.
“Praise Light—”
The priest bowed deeply, but before he could even complete the sentence, Auren raised a finger.
“Release aid,”
He repeated his words, and then—
“To the districts that have met their Faith quota.”
The priest blinked.
“My lord… they cannot meet it.
They are starving.”
Auren’s expression did not change.
“Then they are unworthy,”
He shrugged.
“My lord, they will die.”
The priest’s face went pale.
Auren smiled faintly, as if he was doing them a favor.
“Then Light will take them.
And those who survive will learn.”
The recording changed again—this time, it was a prison.
A prison deep underground. The white walls here were stained with… dark marks.
Chains were hung from hooks, and… people were strapped to them.
Their bodies shook.
Light ran through the chains like lightning, convulsing their bodies with pain so strong they nearly lost their minds.
The worst part?
They couldn’t even scream.
Their voices were suppressed.
Auren walked through the prison like he owned the place. A prisoner raised his head and, with great difficulty, spat blood.
“You’re not holy,
You’re a monster.”
He glared at Auren.
The Strongest Child of Light stopped. He looked at the prisoner, then grinned. A grin that… wasn’t his usual gentle grin, but something far more monstrous.
A grin filled with his sadistic impulses and… dark, broken mind.
“How long do you think I have been ’holy’ for?”
The prisoner froze at those words, unable to react, but Auren—knowing no being could see him here—continued.
“Holy is boring.
A sham that doesn’t exist.
A sham that… only fools believe.”
Then, he walked toward the prisoner, leaned forward, and whispered softly:
“Only power is exciting.
Power to do anything you want.
Power to…
Be whatever monster you desire to be.”
Auren’s grin widened.
If it wasn’t for his golden-white hair and the pure, holy Light coming from his body, with his current smile, he looked… like a being of darkness.
Then Auren stepped back, as if staying in the prisoner’s lowly presence would harm him somehow, and with a flick of his finger, the chains holding the prisoner shined even brighter and—
“AAAAGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!”
The prisoner screamed in extreme agony as his very soul was being scorched without letting him die.
And this time, Auren let him scream.
After all—
“It is fun to see insects wail as you crush them.”
Auren spoke as he walked away with a smile.
Then the recording shifted.
This time, it was a grand balcony.
Auren stood above a sea of people, shining like a saint.
He raised his arms and the crowd cheered.
“LIGHT! LIGHT! LIGHT!”
“We are righteous.”
Auren’s voice echoed across the city.
“We are pure.
We are… blessed.”
The crowd roared.
“And because we are blessed,
We have the right to judge those below us.”
The crowd screamed in worship.
Auren’s eyes gleamed.
Then the recording zoomed in slightly, showing something behind him.
A door slightly open.
A private chamber.
Inside it—officials knelt before Auren, hands full of… gifts.
Rare artifacts.
Treasures.
One official whispered,
“My lord, the tribunal… my son was accused—”
Auren’s smile stayed gentle.
He touched the official’s head.
“Your son is innocent,”
He said softly.
The official cried in relief.
“And you will double your offering,”
Auren added.
The official nodded desperately.
“Yes! Yes!”
“Then Light forgives,”
Auren whispered with the same smile.
The recording shifted again.
This time, it was a battlefield.
A High Level World whose protection barrier had just disappeared—a world that had just been opened to the Universe with no knowledge whatsoever.
A world that…
Refused the rule of Light because their beliefsdid not match.
And in this world—
Light armies clashed with… rebels.
The rebels who were once the denizens of this very world.
Yes, after refusing Light’s rules, they were labeled rebels in their own world, and the Light’s army chased them.
And Auren…
He floated above them like a sun.
He looked down.
He raised a hand.
And the entire battlefield went white.
The rebels did not die like warriors.
They did not fall with honor.
They simply disappeared in a wave of Light, erased so completely the ground beneath them was left untouched.
Yes, in just one move, the entirety of the world’s population was… wiped clean.
Auren turned his head slightly to a general.
“Take the Will. Begin a new race here.
One that follows Light.”
He said, and the general bowed.
“Yes, my lord.”
The recording shifted again.
And now, it was a school.
Children sat in rows, wearing white robes.
Their faces were thin.
Their eyes were hollow.
A teacher stood at the front, and in a cold voice, he ordered:
“Repeat.”
The children repeated:
“Light is mercy.”
The teacher closed his eyes.
“Again.”
“Light is mercy!”
The teacher nodded.
“Now repeat the truth.”
The children hesitated.
The teacher’s eyes hardened.
Auren stood at the back of the room, watching quietly.
The teacher spoke again.
“Repeat the truth.”
The children whispered,
“Light is obedience.”
Auren smiled.
And finally, the screen went dark.
The series of recordings that were shown one after another finally ended and…
Silence hit the void like a hammer.
The Light Borns stood frozen.
If they were in another’s presence, they would have denied it instantly.
It’s a forgery.
It’s false.
An enemy’s attempt to weaken people’s Faith.
But…
Deep down, they knew it as well.
None of it was false.
Heck, some of them were in the recordings that were being shown—they had witnessed it happen right in front of them, and of course, they never said a word because…
It was normal.
The strong suppress the weak; that was how the Universe worked.
Even the Light Borns understood that. But…
What surprised them even more was how… detailed the recordings were.
And that was impossible unless the one who recorded everything was there as well.
Or…
The recording was taken out from someone’s memories.
The Light Borns gulped at that possibility. They already knew Auren had disappeared, that the Anomaly had probably taken him, but seeing the physical proof of it right in front of them was… something that shifted something in their hearts.
Not to mention…
All these were comparatively tamer memories. If the Anomaly actually had access to Auren’s memories, then this would only be the beginning.
When the Light Borns thought about it, their faces turned solemn as they considered the impact this would have on the rest of the Universe—and on the Light Authority that came from it.
No.
That cannot happen.
The Light Borns shook their heads, their minds already searching for ways to stop the Anomaly but—
They weren’t given any time.
Because the screen lit up again.
This time, a new face appeared.
And it wasn’t Auren’s.
It was the Anomaly.
He looked directly into the recording, as if he were staring at the Light Borns through space, and he—
“Hello,”
He greeted in a calm, warm, and even friendly voice. Like a sweet next-door neighbor you cannot help but love.
And that tone alone felt like an insult.
Especially after everything the Light Borns had just seen.
After all, they understood the meaning behind it—showing these recordings to them was no different than a threat.
And Nux, who knew exactly what the Light Borns were thinking, grinned.
“I hope you enjoyed the truth,”
He said with a chuckle.
“Not that you didn’t know it already.”
He shrugged.
The Light-born commander’s jaw clenched.
One of the soldiers raised his weapon at the screen like it could do something.
Nux’s gaze shifted slightly, as if he noticed them.
Then he looked forward again, as if he were addressing the entirety of the Universe itself.
“Light calls itself justice.
Light calls itself… good.
But Light is the biggest liar in existence.
And the funniest part?”
He paused for a moment as he leaned closer to the recording, his devilishly handsome face filling the screen even more.
“Light truly believes its own lies.
People suffered,
Not because darkness attacked them.
But because Light needed to stay beautiful.”
He paused, letting the words sink in.
Then his tone turned colder.
“I’m here to end the hypocrisy of Light.
I’m here to drag every ’holy’ act into the open.
I will reveal everything they did in the name of justice.
And I…
I will stand against them—
Till one of us perishes.”
