“Take care of my daughter.”

Nux and the others blinked in surprise. They were in utter disbelief.
They even thought that they had heard it wrong.
Did… this man just give his permission?
Did he accept Nux as his son-in-law?
A frown appeared on Nux’s face. He didn’t think it would be that easy.
“What happened?”
He questioned directly.
For some reason, he didn’t like this.
“Tell me if this does not have ‘flag’ written all over it!
Nux thought inwardly.
Despite having millions of years of knowledge in his head, he still hadn’t forgotten the divine knowledge, the knowledge he inherited from Earth, the knowledge from all the manga, anime, and other cultural stuff.
When has a character who said something like this not died?
It clearly looked like Azriel was prepared to do something and was leaving Aeliana in his care since he knew he wouldn’t return.
Every cultured man could see that.
Nux, however, couldn’t allow this to happen. After all, Aeliana was deeply connected with her father. If something happened to this man, she would break apart, and Nux could not let that happen.

The Vampire spoke. Then, after a slight pause, he continued,
“I only have one request.”
“Request’ was a strong word, especially when it came from someone like Azriel. Right now, however, Nux could see it. The man in front of him was not the strongest being in the entire Universe, he was just a father who loved his daughter more than himself.
“Please take care of my daughter.”
Azriel spoke. The Vampire even went ahead to bow his head, but before he could, Nux appeared in front of him.
“Lord Azriel.”
He called out, this time, there was no hint of playfulness on his face.
“Please do not bow your head,
It will break Acliana’s heart.
She is the daughter of the strongest being in the entire Universe, and she is very proud
of her father. Don’t ruin it for her.”
Nux then looked into Azriel’s eyes and,
“The strongest does not bow. Especially not to his stupid son-in-law.
If there is something you want, do not request it of me, order me with authority.”
The absolute seriousness as he said those words surprised not just Azriel but even Nux’s
wives as well.
They understood, this was Nux’s respect, not just for his father-in-law, but for the
strongest being in the universe.
“Order you, huh…”
Azriel muttered, slightly amused.
“Would you leave my daughter alone if I order you to?”
The Vampire tried his luck, using this one last chance to save his daughter from falling into the deepest pit that existed in this Universe, or in this case, outside of this Universe.
“I won’t. Your authority doesn’t extend that far.” Nux’s answer was instantaneous.
“You are an insolent one.”
Azriel chuckled.
A sight that surprised all that were present.
“This is the first time this man has laughed in a non-threatening manner, isn’t it?”
The moment they heard those words, once again, Amaya and Felberta’s mouths
twitched.
They really needed to keep Shadow in check. Yes, the two women were now understanding Lane’s troubles. They felt like Shadow was speaking whatever was in their minds, and it wasn’t a good feeling at all. Especially when they felt like they might die for
it at any moment.
Azriel, however, ignored Shadow’s words. He glanced at Nux, and Nux nodded,
“I assure you, Lord Azriel. I will never let your daughter down. In life or death, I will never leave her alone.”
Azriel smiled. For some reason, those words relieved his heart. Suddenly, he turned
towards Amaya and the others and,
“Please take care of her.
“She will be like our sister, a part of our family. Of course, we will take care of her”
Felberta nodded with a smile. On the other hand, Amaya had already moved towards Shadow, forcefully closing her mouth. The devourer even used her ability to cut Shadow
off from the surroundings, making sure she had no way to give her input in the situation.
Azriel just ignored that. He was familiar with this family’s antics. He just turned around, but before he disappeared, he glanced at Nux and,
“I know you have a few things you need to take care of right now. Do that, and once you are about to leave Yrniel for good, come to me. There are some things we need to talk
about.”‘
“I understand, father-in-law.”
Nux bowed his head, and Azriel disappeared.
