A Handsome Stranger Enters the City

"Halt, wait for inspection," a loud voice came from outside.

"Don’t worry, it’s just a formal check-up before entering the city," Violet explained, seeing the curious look on Victor’s face.

Soon, the door of the carriage opened.

A soldier guard glanced inside the carriage.

He was a little surprised by the appearance of Victor and the two girls, but he didn’t neglect to perform his duty.

He scanned the interior, noting the three familiar guild waitresses and the striking young man and his companions.

His eyes lingered on Victor for a moment.

The young man was too handsome.

Too perfect.

After checking that there was nothing suspicious inside the carriage, the guards let the carriage enter through the city gate.

As the carriage passed by the city gate, a middle-aged man who was the captain of the inspection team frowned slightly.

He was a Fifth Layer Spiritual Adept warrior and had sensed two strong auras from the carriage.

His instincts were sharp.

He had been a guard for decades.

He knew when something was unusual.

"Darius, you inspected that carriage. Who was inside?" The middle-aged man called out the soldier who had inspected Victor’s carriage.

"Captain, there are six people inside that carriage—five girls and one young boy," Darius replied truthfully.

"Hm? Six young people? How could this be? I just sensed two strong auras from that carriage," the captain exclaimed after hearing the words.

He was a Fifth Layer Spiritual Adept warrior.

Just now, he had actually sensed two strong auras from that carriage that were slightly inferior to his.

This meant those two auras should belong to Spiritual Adept stage warriors as well.

Spiritual Adept stage warriors were considered strong people in Suncloud Kingdom.

If it had been some elderly figures, he might have ignored it.

But knowing that these auras were coming from two young people, it aroused his attention.

"Captain, I think I know the identity of three of the girls. They work in the Alchemist Guild. I’ve seen them before when I visited the guild. So the strong auras should belong to the other three young people. I also found them a little unusual," Darius thought for a second, then spoke and described their appearance.

His words were careful.

But captain not satisfied.

After thinking little he said.

"You go and keep an eye on them from a distance. They should be disciples of a strong sect," the captain immediately thought of the possibility and said.

His eyes narrowed.

His mind was calculating.

If they were from a powerful sect, it would be dangerous to offend them.

But it was also dangerous to ignore potential threats.

"Understood, Captain. I will follow them discreetly," Darius replied.

He bowed.

Then he moved away.

His figure disappeared into the crowd.

The captain watched the carriage disappear into the city.

He had a bad feeling.

Something was coming.

He could feel it.

But he pushed the thought aside.

For now.

He would wait. And watch.

On the other side, Victor’s carriage entered the city.

Not long after, the carriage stopped.

Victor and the others came out of the carriag e.

The three girls had already paid their travel fee to the old man.

The old man was a little hesitant to ask for money from Victor.

The girls also wanted to pay for him, but Victor stopped them.

Victor reached into his storage ring and found many gold coin s inside.

Taking a gold coin from the storage ring, he moved to give it to the old man.

The old man was stunned after seeing the gold coin and immediately refused to take it.

"Young Master, this is too much money. I can’t take it."

His voice was filled with shock.

A silver coin was enough to feed him and his four family members for a few days.

While one gold coin was enough to feed his whole family for months.

"Grandpa, you don’t have to refuse. Just take it as a gift for helping us," Victor smiled lightly and said.

His golden eyes were warm.

The old man reluctantly accepted the gold coin and bowed down to thank Victor.

His hands were trembling.

"Thank you, Young Master. May the heavens bless you."

Victor nodded.

"Take care of yourself, Grandpa."

After that, Victor and the girls started walking on the street.

The city was alive with activity.

People bustled everywhere.

Merchants shouted their wares.

The air was filled with the mingled scents of spices, herbs, and street food.

Victor looked around in wonder.

This was nothing like Earth.

No cars.

No traffic lights.

No skyscrapers.

Just ancient buildings.

Horse-drawn carriages.

And people in flowing robes.

This is insane, he thought to himself.

I’m actually walking through a fantasy city.

If my college buddies could see me now...

They would never believe it.

"Little Brother Victor, you have a kind heart," Violet said, walking beside him with a warm smile.

Her silver hair swayed gently in the breeze.

Her purple eyes sparkled with admiration.

"It’s nothing. He worked hard to bring us here. It’s only fair," Victor replied modestly.

Ruby giggled.

"Modest and handsome. What a rare combination."

Her crimson hair bounced with her laughter.

Her green eyes twinkled with excitement.

Sasha nodded in agreement.

"Indeed. Most handsome men we meet are arrogant. But you’re different."

Her yellow hair shone in the sunlight.

Her yellowish eyes were warm.

Victor chuckled.

"I’m just an ordinary person."
