Chapter 609: Private Jet, Welcome Home

However, she had never brought this up with Lin Chu. Compared to before, she had “compromised” a great deal, after all.

“Sorry for the wait. I was going to head straight to the garage, but I wanted to feel the atmosphere in the main hall, so I took a quick look… Let’s go.”

Lin Chu said with a faint smile.

“You’re certainly in a leisurely mood. Most people can’t wait to go straight home from the airport… Let’s go. Where are we headed? Are you hungry?”

Yang Huixian teased with a smile, naturally taking his arm. She then casually greeted Lu Ming and Wu Hao, who were nearby, displaying a kind of “leading lady” air.

Lu Ming chuckled. “Sister-in-law, you’ve gotten even more beautiful… Don’t mind us; we’ll be leaving in a bit. Hey Wu, why don’t you come with me? No need for a bodyguard back in the country.”

Wu Hao glanced at him, then his eyes shifted to Lin Chu.

Lin Chu said, “That works. For the next couple of days, go ahead and stay at his place. And while you’re there, whip him into shape a bit… Boss Lu, your gut has gotten bigger these days. Shouldn’t you lose ten pounds or so before the New Year?”

Lu Ming: …

“Who in their right mind diets during the New Year?! I’m not losing a single pound! I’m outta here. Let’s go, Brother Wu! Don’t you dare listen to him!”

Wu Hao shot him a somewhat disdainful look but didn’t seem to have any objections. He now had a bit more insight into Lin Chu’s private life.

‘So there’s another “sister-in-law” back home!’

‘But then again, this is probably standard practice for the super-rich,’ he mused. ‘Nothing to be surprised about.’

…

They got in the car.

On the way back from the airport to Swan Castle, Yang Huixian drove, chattering away in a cheerful tone.

She talked about everything from the company to her family, recent activities, people she’d met, and even Uncle Nine and her various political and business connections.

This had been her main focus recently.

Previously, the group had always been lacking in this area, falling far behind other companies of a similar size.

This was mainly because Lin Chu had deliberately avoided it.

For many minor matters, the operations from the club’s side were sufficient.

As for major matters… there hadn’t been any that required intervention from a higher level.

But after what happened abroad, Lin Chu’s mindset had changed, and he had given the green light.

So, Yang Huixian had naturally thrown herself into it. With Uncle Nine helping to pull strings and build bridges, her progress had been quite good so far.

And of course, the strength of the LC Group spoke for itself.

Their overseas ventures were also blossoming. The development of the low-altitude aircraft industry was a huge bright spot, burnishing their reputation considerably.

Listening quietly, Lin Chu felt the tension inside him gradually begin to ease.

It wasn’t entirely because of what she was saying. Half of it was probably just the fact that he was back home.

The feeling was completely different.

It seemed like even the wind blowing in through the window carried a sense of security.

Hmm?

As Yang Huixian continued talking, she glanced over at a red light and was surprised to see Lin Chu had already fallen fast asleep.

For a moment, she couldn’t help but smile faintly.

The car stopped as they arrived at Swan Castle, and Lin Chu woke up.

He got out of the car, and just as he walked through the door, a half-grown Five-Red Dog came running toward him, whimpering, its tail wagging like a pinwheel.

He hadn’t seen it in over two months, and while it had grown quite a bit, it still remembered him.

Watching the scene unfold, Yang Huixian’s face was all smiles, but she also felt a wave of emotion.

A little over two months ago, they had left this very house together for Dubai. They had planned to celebrate a birthday, to take a trip, but who could have known so much would happen along the way?

“Welcome home.”
