Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts
Chapter 558: Stirring Up Trouble, Arrogance, Big Shots, Money Power
Chapter 558 -329: Stirring Up Trouble, Arrogance, Big Shots, Money Power
In the performance hall, not far from where Lin Chu and Liu Chenhui were seated, a handsome man in a floral shirt and brown sunglasses, flanked by two female companions, would occasionally glance their way.
Watching Lin Chu toss money onto the stage moments ago, and now seeing him surrounded by a bevy of beauties, a faint, almost imperceptible smile touched the corners of his mouth.
‘How flashy.’
A hidden camera, concealed in a shirt button, had already recorded everything as evidence of his completed mission.
As his boss’s most reliable operative, Han Xingmin had received this mission a day ago. He had departed from Seoul, traveled to Rotterdam as quickly as possible, boarded the ship, and, following his instructions, confirmed the target’s identity.
His mission was simple and clear: observation.
Just observation.
Observe this man named Lin Chu, then provide a comprehensive analysis from every possible angle.
So far, he had seen him three times.
The first time was in the arcade this morning, the second was in the restaurant just a moment ago, and the third was right now.
Han Xingmin had already formed a preliminary assessment of Lin Chu.
He doesn’t gamble.
‘He has some principles, at least. As expected of a businessman from China—the kind who treats gambling and drugs as mortal enemies.’
He drinks.
‘Still in the mood to drink at a time like this. He’s not a cautious man.’
Women.
‘Clearly, everything happening right now proves it: this man’s greatest weakness is women.’
‘The bodyguard beside him is probably very skilled. His eyes are alert, and he’s constantly scanning the area.’
‘And it’s highly likely there are others like me—my “colleagues”—around them too.’
Han Xingmin lifted his glass for a sip, nonchalantly observing his surroundings as well.
As for the situation with the higher-ups…
Although his boss hadn’t explained the details, Han Xingmin had his own assessment.
This Lin Chu was clearly embroiled in a huge scandal; there was even a video of a murder circulating online.
‘Another Chinese billionaire, worth tens of billions, getting set up.’
Ha.
Han Xingmin had seen similar stories so many times they no longer surprised him.
These so-called big shots, despite having wealth that could rival a nation and considerable power, were just as easily constrained when facing even bigger predators.
He had understood this point clearly many years ago, back when Mr. Lu was driven to his death.
All these years later, the world hadn’t gotten better, only more chaotic. Internationally, “honey traps” and “pack hunts” targeting wealthy Chinese were now commonplace.
A few years ago, that one Chinese internet tycoon from a humble background was caught in a honey trap across the ocean.
It wasn’t just China, either. Most of Seoul’s chaebols were nothing more than Wall Street’s dogs.
Lighting a cigarette, Han Xingmin exhaled a long stream of smoke. His gaze seemed profound as it drifted through the rising wisps.
He felt no sympathy for the young Chinese billionaire, only a sense of detached wistfulness and the eagerness of someone watching a good show. ‘It’s all just dog eat dog.’
It wouldn’t be surprising to see any of them get torn to shreds.
‘Better if they all died.’
He slipped his hand into the bosom of the woman beside him, eliciting a peal of wanton laughter from her.
…
After just two more rounds, the better part of the Maotai bottle was empty. Lin Chu felt fine. He had a high tolerance and had only drunk about three glasses’ worth, so his mind was still perfectly clear. He didn’t even feel slightly tipsy.
The Broadway actors in front of him seemed to be clean; he could tell from their eyes and subtle mannerisms.
As for the surrounding crowd, Lin Chu didn’t pay them much mind. That was Liu Chenhui’s job.
Lin Chu glanced at him, and their eyes met for a few seconds.
Liu Chenhui licked his lips and, pretending to move with the music, gave a subtle shake of his head.
He hadn’t found anything.
Nothing at all.
There were simply too many people. Lin Chu’s little stunt had been far too conspicuous and had drawn a lot of attention.
Amidst so many stares, trying to pick out a single malicious observer was nearly impossible; it was too difficult to tell them apart.
He had identified a few potential targets, but he couldn’t be completely certain.
Seeing Liu Chenhui shake his head, Lin Chu couldn’t help but smile and shake his head as well.
“It’s too noisy here. Let’s go somewhere else. Follow me…”
Lin Chu said to the actresses. Without waiting for their reaction, he stood up with a smile and clapped Liu Chenhui on the shoulder.
Liu Chenhui rose with him.
The actresses looked at Lin Chu, exchanging glances. The shifting lights of the hall played across their faces, which flickered between light and shadow. After a moment’s hesitation, two of the more outgoing ones stood up to follow.
To be fair, their earlier conversation hadn’t gone particularly smoothly.
The tall, handsome, blond-haired, blue-eyed man claimed he had grown up in China, which explained why his English was halting while his Chinese was fluent. His brawny physique, however, didn’t look very East Asian, which they found rather sexy.
Of course, none of that mattered. The most important thing was that he was rich.
Very rich.
Lin Chu slung an arm around Liu Chenhui’s shoulders and whispered, “See anyone who looks suspicious?”
‘I don’t need evidence. I’m not a damn court. Right now, anyone suspicious is guilty.’
Liu Chenhui’s lips barely moved. “Yes. Six of them.”
He wasn’t sure what Lin Chu was planning. Then he heard Lin Chu’s voice again. “Which one’s the closest? Go punch him.”
Liu Chenhui: ?
His eyes shot wide open.
