Super Soldier in the City
Chapter 2811 - 2873: Sharing the Same Bed
"I’m in awe, of course I’m in awe, you’re amazing!" Wu Shuwei immediately said.
"Then keep admiring for a bit longer, let me bask in it a little, sigh, I’m really exhausted, it’s like a high-precision computer running continuously for over ten hours without making any mistakes. Can you imagine how tiring that is?" Li Yifei said, eyes closed. He wasn’t complaining, he was truly tired so he just voiced it out.
Wu Shuwei pursed her lips, softly replied with an "Mm," and seeing Li Yifei’s eyes closed, she came up with a bold idea, "So, how can I help relieve your fatigue?"
"Relieve my fatigue? I don’t know," Li Yifei said.
Wu Shuwei lifted herself, suddenly leaning forward. She was originally sitting to the side, and this forward move naturally brought her towards Li Yifei as her lips landed on his cheek with a crisp "pop." Li Yifei’s cheek got kissed, and that spot suddenly surged with electricity, making him freeze momentarily, eyes quickly wide open with surprise. After the kiss, Wu Shuwei quickly distanced herself, mumbling, "Don’t misunderstand, it’s... it’s just a reward!"
A reward, yet claiming not to be misunderstood? Where is such a reward found? Or in what way is this fatigue relief done like this?
But it must be said, after that kiss, an electric current spread through his entire body, making Li Yifei feel genuinely less fatigued; a smile spread across his face, he licked his lips, saying, "If only I could get kissed a bit longer!"
"Stop saying that. Don’t fantasize, I won’t... kiss you again!" Wu Shuwei said while cautiously eyeing the fainted little girl’s mother, fearing she’d suddenly wake up and uncover this.
Li Yifei laughed heartily, looking very cheerful because it was Wu Shuwei who initiated the kiss, making it different in significance. Of course, it wasn’t their first kiss, but recently it surpassed their previous threshold, truly an ice-breaking kiss.
Of course, if it were a mouth-to-mouth passionate kiss, it’d be even better, creating stronger electric currents and more invigorating energy.
It could be said to be incredibly comfortable. Li Yifei couldn’t think of anything else to relieve fatigue as much, well maybe there’s something; that’s OOXX, but that’s too urgent. Scientifically, it’s because of instant secretion of body hormones, adrenaline release promoting excitement, thus reducing fatigue.
Wu Shuwei already turned her face away, not daring to look at Li Yifei, while he restrained his laughter, softly saying, "Thank you, I really liked that way of relieving fatigue. With this method from you, I can handle even more tiredness."
"Oh, who wants you to be so tired? Watching you makes me feel... Anyway, just this once, it’s not frequent!" Wu Shuwei reconsidered what she almost said to be causing heartache, quickly amending her words.
"Have you eaten?" Li Yifei suddenly asked.
"Yes, oh, wait a bit, I’ll order food for you," Wu Shuwei said.
Li Yifei already stood up looking towards the dining table; there were dishes, still plentiful, indicating that the three had barely eaten anything. So he said, "It’s late, don’t bother, I’ll eat a bit."
"Okay, I’ll go heat it up for you." Wu Shuwei said.
Li Yifei nodded, letting Wu Shuwei heat up the food. After a few minutes, once the food was warm, Li Yifei began devouring it heartily. Haicheng, being an economically thriving international metropolis, might have been sparsely filled with Spirit Qi possibly due to the high population? It would be more apt to say it is indeed very thin. Meditating for an hour to restore True Qi was less effective than meditating ten minutes at home.
It can be seen that more people isn’t always a benefit, even ordinary people consume Spirit Qi between breaths, so Li Yifei was starving, hoping to feel some comfort by filling his stomach. Of course, no amount of ordinary food could restore True Qi, only replenishing his strength unless he ate some miraculous elixir.
After getting full and regaining some strength, the little girl’s father hurriedly descended, intending to kneel again thanking Li Yifei. Although uncertain about his daughter’s actual condition, he witnessed the effort put forth.
Li Yifei declined his kneeling, saying, "No need for thanks, just hope you keep this secret. When you return, claim it’s Haicheng doctors healing that’s the miracle of life, or say it was misdiagnosed initially!"
"Ah? Sure, sure, I definitely won’t say otherwise, thank you, thank you!" The little girl’s father, after being stunned, quickly nodded.
"Take your wife to..." Li Yifei initially wanted to say to rest in his room, but thought that wasn’t appropriate as his clothes were still there. So, shifting his gaze to Wu Shuwei, who understood his hint, spoke, "You guys stay in the bedroom across the hallway, all linens are fresh."
"No need, no need, both of us can manage on the sofa for a night. Sir, saving my daughter, we’re eternally grateful!" the little girl’s father hurriedly said.
"Go rest, missing this one night isn’t worth it. Your daughter still needs two treatments, though next ones won’t be as long, just revisit in four to five days." Li Yifei said.
"Ah? Alright, alright,"
"Okay, go ahead!" Li Yifei said, being the good guy to the end.
The little girl’s father carried his wife upstairs, and Li Yifei went to check on the little girl. After coming back downstairs, he told Wu Shuwei to rest in his bedroom.
"What about you?" Wu Shuwei asked.
"I’m fine on the sofa!" Li Yifei chuckled.
Wu Shuwei shook her head, saying, "Who would believe such a thing? To save an ordinary person, a billionaire sleeps on the sofa. Oh, your fans would totally believe it, and they’d worship you even more. You should sleep on the bed; I’ll take the sofa."
Wu Shuwei refused to go, so Li Yifei thought of today’s kiss and hesitated before saying, "How about we share the bed."
"Huh?" Wu Shuwei immediately looked up at him.
"I mean, the bed is big enough for two people to lie down. I’ll just grab an extra blanket; there’s really no need to sleep on the sofa," Li Yifei explained.
Wu Shuwei instinctively wanted to shake her head. Besides Li Yifei, she hadn’t really slept with anyone else since growing up, but it was a special situation with him. Now, should she share a bed with him?
Thinking about it, she hesitated, and seeing her not object, Li Yifei headed upstairs.
"Hey..." Wu Shuwei wanted to say no, but Li Yifei quickly went up the stairs at lightning speed. Wu Shuwei realized he was doing it on purpose, pursed her lips, and muttered, "Such a sly man, sharing a bed with you... what good can come of it?"
Soon, Li Yifei came down with a blanket, seeing Wu Shuwei still standing there, he flicked his head and said, "Come on, let’s get some sleep in the bedroom!"
"If you’re going to sleep, sleep alone!" Wu Shuwei replied.
Li Yifei placed the blanket on the bed, saw that Wu Shuwei hadn’t come in, and took a few steps out to grab her arm. "Come on, don’t hesitate. We’re just sleeping on the same bed, not sharing a blanket. I promise not to touch you."
"You want to touch me? Sly man, I knew there was a catch when you offered your room!" Wu Shuwei objected.
"Heaven knows my innocence; I didn’t mean it!" Li Yifei remembered a popular joke about a man and woman sharing a room. The woman said if he dared touch her, he’d be a beast. The man didn’t touch her all night, and in the morning, the woman slapped him, calling him worse than a beast... Li Yifei wondered if he didn’t touch Wu Shuwei would she slap him the next morning and call him worse than a beast. He laughed, knowing it definitely wouldn’t happen given Wu Shuwei’s personality. So, he dragged her into the room and asked, "By the way, have you washed up?"
"I have."
"Good, go change into your pajamas. Give me a few minutes; I’m going to wash up," Li Yifei said.
"I’m not changing!" Wu Shuwei said, but noticed there was already a set of her conservative pajamas on the bed. She rolled her eyes, thinking how Li Yifei had picked it up when he went for the blanket.
No matter what she said, by the time Li Yifei returned from washing up, Wu Shuwei had changed into pajamas and snuggled under the blanket, facing the inside. Li Yifei came back shirtless, wearing just pajama pants, and Wu Shuwei immediately told him to put on a shirt.
"Why wear clothes to bed... uh, aren’t I already wearing pants? I’ll just cover up with the blanket," Li Yifei said.
Wu Shuwei turned her back, ignoring him. She figured ’out of sight, out of mind,’ but thinking about sharing a bed with a man behind her, she still felt uneasy. Initially very sleepy, her mind grew active once she lay down, especially after turning off the lights. She couldn’t help but stare into the darkness with big eyes.
Li Yifei picked up his phone, finding it dead. After charging it for a while, he turned it on to see a flood of messages, mostly from family. There were a few updates from members of the Flying Hawk Squad from days ago. Li Yifei quickly responded to a few before replying to his family’s messages to reassure them, then noticed several missed calls from unknown numbers.
His cell number was known to a fair number, but few dared to call unless it was urgent. Two numbers were local to Haicheng; one had called four times and the other twice. Li Yifei figured it might be from the Public Security Department but decided not to return the calls given the time.
On Twitter, Li Yifei found he had tens of thousands of @mentions and replies after being offline for only one day, not to mention thousands of private messages. It was impossible for him to read through them all.
