Super Soldier in the City
Chapter 2709 - 2771: Let You Taste It Too
Li Yifei chuckled, clearly skeptical and dismissive of Yang Wei’s words. The security guards he brought spread out to search for the girl’s brother. Li Yifei wasn’t in a hurry. As for the one pretending to be his brother, he had already been taken to the treatment room. Spending more money didn’t mean he would enjoy comfortable treatment. A few men in white coats escorted him quickly to the treatment room, threatening him not to resist, or else there would be serious consequences.
"Let’s do this, let’s go to the office first. This treatment is expected to last about forty minutes; waiting here would be too long!" Yang Wei said with a beaming smile.
Li Yifei nodded, saying, "That works!"
"This way, please; let’s go to my office." Yang Wei led the group, while Li Yifei signaled the security guards to hurry up. But just after walking a few dozen meters, they saw a person dressed as a security guard from the compound running towards them, panting heavily. Ignoring the outsiders present, he shouted, "Director, Director, something happened, the one we caught today... he jumped off the building!"
"What?" Yang Wei immediately raised his eyebrows, then glared at him with some anger, saying, "What nonsense are you spouting? Jumping off the building? What are you doing? Haven’t I told you to watch over and take care of the patients strictly?"
"We... we don’t even know where he got the strength from; he just jumped straight off!" the security guard said, feeling aggrieved.
"I don’t care what your reasons are; how’s the person doing?" Yang Wei wasn’t concerned about it initially. The highest building in the yard was only four floors, counting it as three. Jumping from this height, the person shouldn’t be in serious trouble, even if he broke an arm or leg; they’d just treat him.
Yang Wei knew about the person being talked about, and he was very angry. After the treatment, the person went out and started exposing them, causing an uproar on the internet, bringing them a lot of trouble. Although not major troubles, it was utterly abhorrent. So Yang Wei had him brought back, continuing with electric shock therapy until he promised to leave without saying anything about the place, and only then release him.
Whether doing this was illegal? Hell, in here, I’m the law. My hospital has the local government’s endorsement and reports from multiple provincial and national departments, representing advanced experience.
The security guard continued, "Not good, Director, he’s unconscious!"
"Jumping from such a low height and you tell me he’s unconscious?" Yang Wei raised his voice, no longer caring that there were family members of patients present.
"He... jumped headfirst and shouted he didn’t want to live anymore. We couldn’t stop him, so..."
"Then why the hell are you reporting this? Call 120!" Yang Wei cursed and asked angrily, "Where’s the person?"
"At Building Three!"
Yang Wei immediately sped over, followed by Li Yifei. By that time, no one was paying attention to them. The critical thought was that instinctively, Li Yifei believed the person who jumped might very well be the girl’s brother, whom he was desperately asked to rescue. Li Yifei only hoped it wouldn’t be such a coincidence. It’s fine if he suffered some torment, just don’t let him actually die, or it would be a tragedy.
Rounding Building Three, Li Yifei saw a crowd gathered on the ground. There was no lawn under Building Three, just concrete. If someone really jumped from the third floor, even a normal fall would be quite testing.
Yang Wei pushed through the people blocking in front and saw a bloodied person lying on the ground. He frowned and said, "What are you all standing around for? Hurry and call 120!"
"Brother, is it you?" The girl, following behind Li Yifei, glimpsed the person inside through a gap and couldn’t help but shout. Her voice drew the attention of the institution’s people, and they saw the little girl rush over, throwing herself onto the jumper. But soon she stopped, realizing he wasn’t her brother. Though they wore the same clothes, he was leaner, with a different-looking face.
"Someone, take them to the conference room, and don’t let them cause trouble here!" Yang Wei glared, unable to act out since Li Yifei was a major client, though the girl he brought indeed was a bit strange, making him quite displeased.
The girl quickly stood up, afraid of causing trouble for Li Yifei, but saw Li Yifei staring expressionlessly at Yang Wei, motionless. After more than ten seconds, he suddenly said, "Do it!"
This command was spoken softly, but everyone around heard it, and it even spread far. The Li family’s security guards received the command, and they had already scoped out their surroundings long before. As soon as Li Yifei ordered, they began to act.
They were highly skilled and extremely capable. Once they started, they were unstoppable. Almost instantly, they took down their targets nearby, leaving them unconscious or temporarily unable to resist. Most importantly, two security guards had already located the girl’s brother, who was in an interrogation room—no, it should be called a treatment room. He had been tortured for who knows how long, not unconscious but barely responsive to external stimuli, as he still had high-voltage electric needles in him, causing his body to twitch occasionally, which was heartbreaking to watch.
When Li Yifei commanded action, he didn’t sit idly. The dozen or so institution people in front of him, including Yang Wei, hadn’t yet figured out what "action" meant before they fell into a haze. When they regained consciousness, they found themselves on the ground, unable to move an inch.
Li Yifei walked towards one of the buildings. Within a few bounds, he had reached the treatment room. Looking at the girl’s brother, the electric needles on him had been removed, but his body still twitched, jerking occasionally. His eyes were tightly shut but moved continuously underneath. Checking his condition, Li Yifei found it wasn’t good, though the boy was alive. He had merely been shocked to unconsciousness multiple times, causing internal disorder, with a potential risk of respiratory and organ failure at any moment. Even so, the people hadn’t stopped the electrical shocks.
After a few minutes of stabilizing the boy, Li Yifei stepped aside, telling the girl, "Your brother is okay now, just resting; he should wake up soon, don’t worry!"
"Thank you, Uncle, thank you!" the girl sobbed, knowing that if they’d come just a day or even a few hours later, her brother would’ve suffered more. No one knew whether he could endure such pain, but it’s certain that this electric shock punishment was utterly inhumane and intolerable.
Thus, Li Yifei’s first command wasn’t to have the security interrogate the people but to tie them up individually and bind them to the electric shock devices to start experiencing the electric punishment they had developed. No, it should be said, to "enjoy" it. They might have created these devices but never experienced them over these years, so today, they would get a taste, ensuring there were no regrets left.
By now, Yang Wei had come to, glaring furiously at Li Yifei, cursing, "The hell are you trying to do? This is the Web Addiction Treatment Center, and you’re breaking the law!"
"You know about breaking the law? I thought the concept didn’t exist in your head!" Li Yifei lightly chuckled, saying, "Do you deserve to be human? Even during wartime, electric punishment was considered inhumane. Now, you’re using it on those kids without any remorse! Heh, well, don’t worry, if no one deals with you, I will. Yang Wei, you beasts won’t end well, I guarantee it!"
Li Yifei’s sudden fierce demeanor and threatening words momentarily left Yang Wei unsure of what to do. He blinked, moving his lips, asking with a dwindling spirit, "Who the hell are you? Did we offend you?"
"You did, you bastards offended the entire nation, the parents with children!" Li Yifei said, but then didn’t bother to continue; he waved a hand and instructed all the security through a whisper, "Begin, let them feel the electric punishment’s taste, turn it to the max, if they die, it’s on me!"
With that final sentence, the security acted with more vigor. Of course, they wouldn’t have hesitated anyway. When they got the news, everyone was simmering with anger, finding this utterly vile and baffling. There really were parents foolish enough to send their kids into such a pit. In fact... there were indeed many; Yang Wei claimed to have treated tens of thousands; imagining how many of such parents existed nationwide wasn’t hard.
Most within Yang Wei’s group hadn’t really experienced electric shock’s taste. They were simply responsible for treatment. Watching those kids fall into agony, some to the point of soiling themselves, struggling to the extent of bleeding where restraints cut into their limbs, biting off their tongues, or hoping to die jumping from heights, Yang Wei is certainly a psychological deviant. Upon seeing such suffering, he took pleasure, feeling a thrill comparable to ecstasy, thus addicted, each time personally overseeing treatments, the deeper the misery, the more satisfaction he got.
Feeling satisfied, he naturally had no concerns; they’d been operating under the guise of treatment, and those kids’ lives or suffering weren’t his burden. After all, once the so-called treatment was over, they’d be returned home, seemingly cured. In truth, they were left psychologically scarred, too afraid to touch computers, else they’d face hellish electrocution.
Today, Yang Wei and his people finally got a taste of electric shock, starting with a few volts, already experiencing excruciating pain. It was a bone-penetrating agony that surged into the mind, constant, as though countless branding irons were scorching hot inside their bodies in any location, even hearing a sizzling sound.
