Super Soldier in Campus
Chapter 1403 - 1406: Sneak Attack
"How do you want to change it?" Master Ciyun swept a contemptuous glance at Lin Feng and asked carelessly.
"If you lose, you stay here in Jiangzhou!" Lin Feng stared at Master Ciyun and spoke, enunciating each word.
This was the fairness Lin Feng had in mind. Since Master Ciyun wanted to take Tang Rou away, she had to pay some price. If she lost, she had to stay in Jiangzhou—only then was the wager reasonable!
"You want me to stay?!" Hearing Lin Feng’s demand, Master Ciyun froze for a moment. Lin Feng’s request was clearly beyond anything she had expected!
"Do you dare or not, it’s just one word. A dignified expert of the Buddhist sect wouldn’t be scared, would you?" Lin Feng looked at Master Ciyun with a cold sneer and asked evenly.
"I’m afraid of you? Don’t make me laugh!" Master Ciyun’s expression shifted several times, then she looked at Lin Feng with some suspicion and couldn’t help asking, "What exactly is your goal? Don’t tell me you’re after my life?!"
Tang Rou also looked at Lin Feng in some surprise. Obviously, she hadn’t figured out what Lin Feng was thinking... After all, Tang Rou felt that right now Lin Feng didn’t even want to see this Master Ciyun, so why would he take the initiative to name terms that would make her stay?!
"Why would I want your life? How much is it even worth?! Aren’t you so eager to teach Tang Rou Martial Arts?" Lin Feng’s lips curved slightly, and he said with a cold smile, "Since you keep claiming everything you’re doing is for Tang Rou’s sake, then stay in Jiangzhou and properly teach her Martial Arts!"
Master Ciyun was taken aback; she hadn’t expected Lin Feng to say that. The reason she’d claimed she was forcibly passing the Lotus Sutra to Tang Rou for Tang Rou’s own good was nothing more than a high-sounding excuse to make her actions seem righteous. How could she be that selfless, really spending so much effort purely for Tang Rou’s sake!
Master Ciyun didn’t believe Lin Feng was naive enough to swallow her story. She knew Lin Feng was deliberately saying this just to make her feel humiliated.
Sure enough, as soon as Lin Feng finished, Xu Yishan burst out laughing. "Exactly, Old Nun Ciyun, since you already said you want my niece Tang Rou to become your Buddhist disciple, and it’s inconvenient for her to go back to Harbor City with you, then you stay here and teach her Martial Arts. Wouldn’t that fulfill your wish? What’s there for you to complain about?!"
Only then did Ciyun understand: Lin Feng and Xu Yishan actually wanted to force her to stay in Jiangzhou and teach Tang Rou Buddhist Martial Arts for free!
This was pure delusion! Master Ciyun cursed inwardly. If Tang Rou refused to join Wunian Nunnery, how could she possibly still teach Tang Rou Martial Arts—she’d be doing well not to cripple the cultivation Tang Rou already had!
Though Master Ciyun was furious inside, on the surface she let a very gentle expression appear. She swept a soft glance at Tang Rou, then signaled Ku Zhu and Nun Miaoyu with her eyes, and spoke calmly to Lin Feng and Xu Yishan, "You two make a fair point. In that case, I accept the condition. I’ll engage in a fair duel with Lin Feng; no one may interfere to help. If I win, Tang Rou comes back to Wunian Nunnery with me to cultivate the Buddhist Law. If I lose, I stay in Jiangzhou and pass Buddhist Martial Arts to Tang Rou. Is that correct?"
Lin Feng did not immediately answer Master Ciyun’s question. He turned to look at Tang Rou and asked in a solemn voice, "Tang Rou, do you really trust me?"
Tang Rou gazed at Lin Feng with gentle eyes and nodded lightly. "Of course I trust you. In this world, you’re the only one I trust."
"Good..." Faced with Tang Rou’s soft gaze, Lin Feng felt as if a heavy burden had suddenly been placed on his back, making him unconsciously want to draw out every ounce of strength and swear to protect Tang Rou with his life, never letting her suffer the slightest harm!
Then Lin Feng looked at Master Ciyun again, his face calm as he spoke. "That’s how it is. Do you dare to bet?"
"Fine, I’ll take your bet!" Master Ciyun looked at Lin Feng, and a sly smile suddenly appeared on her face. The next instant, she vanished from where she stood, her figure turning into a streak of white shadow that shot straight at Lin Feng, fast as lightning...
Master Ciyun actually launched a sneak attack on Lin Feng!
"Watch out!" The first to react was naturally Xu Yishan. He had intended to intervene to stop Master Ciyun, but suddenly remembered that Lin Feng had already made a wager with her. If he helped Lin Feng now, he might actually harm him, so he could only grit his teeth and hold back.
The sudden ambush gave Lin Feng a jolt. His feet stamped back one after another as he executed the Willow-in-the-Wind Steps; his evasive movement looked simple yet was extremely odd, his whole body like a weightless willow leaf, drifting aside to evade Ciyun’s strike. Even so, Lin Feng could not completely avoid the Inner Strength that Master Ciyun sent outward. His outer jacket was torn open in a long rent by the claw force that Master Ciyun projected, and a thin line of blood seeped out from within!
The wound wasn’t deep, but it was half a foot long, with four red claw marks clearly visible!
"Despicable! That Old Hag actually dare sneak attack!"
"Brother Feng, be careful!"
Lu Pengju and Xie Nan saw Lin Feng suddenly injured, and their faces tightened as they spoke out in concern. Zhou Yang and Xiang Wang didn’t say anything, but their eyes were already full of anger.
"Kid, your moves are impressive—managing to dodge even that... Not bad." Master Ciyun wore a kindly smile, yet her body once again shot forward with a swish. The five fingers of her right hand took on a faint jade color, looking semi-translucent and extremely terrifying; it was clearly the same technique that had just injured Lin Feng...
"Shattered Jade Hand! That’s not Buddhist Martial Arts, it’s a signature technique of Tiannan’s Eagle Claw Sect! Lin Feng, be careful, don’t take it head-on!" Xu Yishan recognized the Martial Arts Master Ciyun was using and showed a shocked expression, instinctively warning Lin Feng.
"Hmph, Benefactor Xu, since it’s agreed that Ciyun and that junior are fighting one-on-one, you speaking out to aid him like this is rather inappropriate, isn’t it?" Nun Miaoyu gave Xu Yishan a cold glance and said in a deep voice, "Why not let the two of them rely on their own strength and settle it? That would be truly fair!"
"Fair?" Xu Yishan sneered. "A dignified mid-Innate-stage expert sparring with a junior, yet still launching a sneak attack, clearly representing Wunian Nunnery while using Eagle Claw Sect techniques—and you call that fair? I sure as hell don’t see it that way!"
"Heh..." Nun Miaoyu gave Xu Yishan a cold look and said darkly, "That’s not for you to decide."
Miaoyu knew very well that Xu Yishan was an expert with extremely rich combat experience. If he were allowed to freely coach Lin Feng, it was entirely possible Lin Feng might turn the tables. As Master Ciyun’s senior sister, Miaoyu absolutely could not allow that to happen—because Master Ciyun must not lose!
With that in mind, Nun Miaoyu brought her hands together in prayer, looked at Xu Yishan, and began softly chanting Buddhist scriptures...
