Chapter 1509: Chapter 1499: Capability

Zhang Lin listened, then looked up at the kid twice, froze for a moment, shook her head and said, "Alright then, let him stay at our place first. Anyway, a kid this little can’t really do anything, and he seems pretty well?behaved. Our kid is just over one year old, he’ll have a companion too. So leave him at our place for now, I’ll take care of him first. Once the investigation is clear and he can be sent to the orphanage, we’ll send him over."

"Okay, then I’ll have to trouble you for a while." Mu Yu treated the kid like a hot potato and immediately handed him off to Zhang Lin.

That settled the kid problem, after all he’d promised that woman. Even if the woman was guilty, they couldn’t just watch her child go uncared?for.

Close to getting off work, Mu Yu suggested first taking the child to Zhang Lin’s place together. After all, they didn’t live in the same city, it was quite far. Mu Yu invited Jiang Cheng to go with them and help take him over; it was getting dark, and it wasn’t very safe for her as a woman alone.

They said they’d go and went. At first the drive was pretty smooth. Later, because it was rush hour, it easily got congested. Zhang Qiu was holding the child; the child had fallen asleep, squinting his little eyes, looking quite cute. Zhang Lin’s lips curled into a smile as she said, "This kid is pretty cute, but he looks more like his dad, right? Really doesn’t look like that woman."

"Mm, maybe. You’ve had a hard day running around too." Just then, Mu Yu’s phone rang. The sudden urgent sound instantly tightened the previously warm atmosphere.

"Hello! Mu Yu speaking. The team’s network’s been hacked, it’s down now. What do we do?" An anxious voice came through the phone, making Mu Yu’s heart lurch.

"What did you say?" Mu Yu’s pitch shot up a few notches as she asked back in shock.

"The security network’s been breached." The voice on the other end repeated. Mu Yu’s heart instantly lost its steadiness. She slammed her foot on the brake, everyone lurched forward and shot her a dissatisfied look.

A place like the Bureau absolutely cannot have vulnerabilities; someone’s probably deliberately sabotaging it.

"What?" Zhang Lin stared at Mu Yu, her face full of confusion.

"The team’s security net’s been compromised." Mu Yu said, her face full of disbelief, and the rest also looked completely incredulous.

Chang Lin froze for a moment and said, "Why don’t we hurry back to Zhao’s team now, then. A security system problem is no small matter."

Mu Yu jerked the steering wheel, and the car began to speed down the road. Jiang Cheng was sprawled in the seat, eyes tightly closed. He hadn’t wanted to go in the first place and was already exhausted when he got in. After buckling his seat belt, he’d fallen asleep.

Once they reached the Bureau, Mu Yu rushed into the lobby and asked what the current situation was. Seeing everyone busy running around, Mu Yu said anxiously, "Whether or not we can fix the system right now, we need to first back up all our important files. See if we can transfer them to a separate computer. Our classified files absolutely cannot be leaked." Mu Yu barked out the orders in a panic.

"What exactly happened, how could it suddenly crash? The security system was fine this morning, it’s just about quitting time, how could such a big problem pop up? Wasn’t it still fine when we were using it this afternoon?" After giving orders, Mu Yu asked.

·

"No problem this afternoon, but just when everyone was getting ready to clock out, we shut down the computers and found all of them weren’t working—it was like this." Mole explained to Mu Yu.

"No good. We’ve tried countless times and still can’t crack it. The Bureau’s system now has a huge hole, it has to be restored immediately, but all our techs say they can’t fix it." One tech shouted, on the verge of collapse.

"Then what do we do? The situation’s this urgent—no one can fix it?" Mu Yu asked helplessly.

Mole glanced at Mu Yu and said, "Don’t panic, Jiang Cheng is our computer guy. Call him over and see if he can fix the problem."

Mu Yu looked around once and asked, "Where’s Jiang Cheng?" She anxiously called Jiang Cheng, dialed several times, and all she got was "temporarily unreachable."

Now Mu Yu really panicked. At first they’d said Jiang Cheng could help; he was really good with computers. But now he’d completely vanished, nowhere in sight—where were they supposed to find him?

"Wasn’t he with us when we took the kid?" Zhang Lin suddenly asked. Mu Yu quickly followed up, "Then where is he?"

"In the car!" Zhang Lin and Mole shouted in unison. A group of them ran toward the car.

Jiang Cheng was still in the car sleeping soundly. Just now, everyone had been so busy they’d actually neglected him.

"Hey! Wake up." Zhang Lin pushed Jiang Cheng. Jiang Cheng waved a hand, slapped her away, turned his head, and went right on sleeping. Seeing Jiang Cheng like this, Mu Yu felt a pang of guilt. The earlier stretch of work had clearly worn him out like this. Mole pushed Jiang Cheng again. Jiang Cheng looked at the people in front of him, blinking groggily as he slowly opened his eyes.

As soon as Jiang Cheng finished speaking, Rongyu went out. When she arrived at the place they’d mentioned, she saw the child was at the neighbor’s home.

After Mu Yu explained the situation to the neighbor, the neighbor heard the woman was using drugs and immediately became a bit repulsed, asking, "If she’s going to prison, what happens to this kid? We don’t have the money to raise her child for her."

Mu Yu explained clearly to the neighbor, "You don’t need to worry about that. I came to tell you the situation, just to make things clear. The child definitely won’t be left for you to raise. I’m going to take her to the orphanage."

"The team’s network has crashed, come back with us, now!" Jiang Cheng looked at the few people in front of him; hearing this, he jolted in shock.

Jiang Cheng hurried back to the team, opened a computer, and found that almost all of the team’s machines were infected with the virus. He simply hooked up his own laptop to the team’s system to check where exactly the problem was.

And why the security system had suddenly collapsed. After just a glance, the frown on Jiang Cheng’s face quickly relaxed; he even broke into a smile.

"Isn’t this the ’cyber nuke’ I developed? I thought it was something impressive. Even the intrusion is using my own creation—these people must be idiots." Jiang Cheng’s lips curled into a cold, disdainful smile.

"This is what you developed? Then you can definitely crack it quickly. Jiang Cheng, don’t worry about anything else now, just hurry up and break this ’303,’ otherwise in a bit the whole team’s system might completely crash." Mu Yu stared at Jiang Cheng, her face full of shock, and shouted.

"It’s fine, this is easy. They won’t get anything out of it for a while." As he spoke, Jiang Cheng quickly dismantled the opponent’s virus in no time at all.

Jiang Cheng really couldn’t figure out who this person was, to actually know about the cyber nuke he’d designed. He didn’t remember telling anyone. How had this guy gotten it?

He thought, since that’s the case, you’re using my cyber nuke inside our system to sabotage our stuff, then I’ll send you a gift. And at the same time, he wanted to see who exactly had that kind of nerve.

Since they wanted to use the cyber nuke to destroy the team’s system, he planted an intrusion seed in the other side’s network system. When the time came, he could crash their system in minutes. Thinking of that, Jiang Cheng felt a surge of satisfaction.

After finishing, Jiang Cheng said, "Alright, problem solved. Just don’t know who’s behind this or how they got my cyber nuke. I also planted intrusion seeds in their system while I was at it, makes it convenient to see who they really are."
