Mu Yu heard that another person was being assigned here and was quite curious about it. How come the higher-ups are sending another person here? But since they’re already assigned and have arrived, and I’m currently interrogating Mole, it’s better to let Jiang Cheng handle it. I guess Jiang Cheng is probably over there doing who knows what, but you could easily guess he’s definitely not handling proper business.

Thinking of this, Mu Yu started walking towards the room where Jiang Cheng was staying. Upon entering, Jiang Cheng was at the computer playing Minesweeper. Seeing Jiang Cheng’s leisurely look, Mu Yu thought to himself, "Just as I expected, he’s not doing anything serious." Mu Yu then said to Jiang Cheng, "Another person has been sent down from the top. You should go pick them up at the airport."

Listening to Mu Yu’s words, Jiang Cheng looked up at Mu Yu and then asked, "Male or female?" After saying this, Jiang Cheng resumed playing Minesweeper.

Mu Yu looked at Jiang Cheng and said, "You’ll know when you get there, won’t you? Hurry up and go. He’s probably already arrived at the airport, don’t make him wait too long. After all, he’ll be working with us in the future."

Jiang Cheng looked at Mu Yu’s expression, reluctantly patted his own backside, stood up and looked at the weather outside, discovering it was still raining, shook his head and said, "I’m not going."

After saying this, Jiang Cheng sat back down. Seeing Jiang Cheng’s attitude, Mu Yu directly threatened, "If you keep saying that, I’ll have to reconsider how to handle Mole. Moreover, he seems to have agreed to join your company before, but if I keep him detained in the team, I don’t think you’ll be able to get him out, can you?"

Jiang Cheng raised an eyebrow upon hearing Mu Yu’s threat. Although pulling Mole out was easy, Jiang Cheng didn’t want to do that. However, thinking Mu Yu wouldn’t do it, he stubbornly replied, "I’m not going."

Seeing Jiang Cheng’s stubbornness, Mu Yu shook his head and walked outside while saying, "Since you’re not going, I’ll go myself. But I’ve heard the person coming is a great beauty; some people really won’t go, such an opportunity will never come again."

"Oh come on, she’s just an assistant! I don’t want to go!" Jiang Cheng didn’t bother to give the new assistant or Mu Yu any face and directly refused.

Mu Yu slightly frowned upon hearing Jiang Cheng’s unwavering refusal and asked, "Jiang Cheng, what are you trying to do? What’s with your mood today?"

Huh, Jiang Cheng usually isn’t big-headed; what mood is he in today against me? He doesn’t even know the new assistant; shouldn’t have any grudges against anyone, right? It’s so strange!

Jiang Cheng glanced out the window; it was still pouring rain, adding a poetic note as it drummed on the car windows and dribbled down.

"It’s raining so hard outside; stepping out would surely leave one soaked like a drenched chicken! I’m Jiang Cheng, I won’t do such silly things!" he said impatiently, pointing at the window.

Mu Yu looked at Jiang Cheng’s impatient face and could only shake his head, pulling Jiang Cheng up from the chair while saying, "We’ll drive there, you won’t get wet! Let’s go!"

Jiang Cheng was reluctantly dragged into the passenger seat, looking at the rain on the car window with discomfort inside.

Half an hour later, Jiang Cheng was still dragged by Mu Yu to the airport, waiting for the new colleague’s arrival.

The airport was bustling, while Jiang Cheng stood with arms crossed looking out at the rain, his face filled with annoyance. Mu Yu checked her phone now and then, glanced outside, but still hadn’t seen the person.

"Hmm? Did the flight get delayed? We’ve been waiting here for so long, still haven’t seen the one the team mentioned!" Mu Yu complained while standing in the airport hall with Jiang Cheng, holding her forehead.

Jiang Cheng raised an eyebrow and said, "You were the one who insisted we come here to wait! You’ve made your decision, so you’ve got to follow through, right? Hang in there!"

"I’m not really annoyed, I’m just a bit worried. Was there some trouble?" Mu Yu said, stamping her foot on the ground out of anxiety.

We heard the new assistant coming is a girl, just a young girl. If she encounters any trouble during her trip, it would be really worrying! It’s truly driving me crazy!

Jiang Cheng comfortingly patted Mu Yu’s shoulder and said, "Oh come on, stop worrying unnecessarily, will you? Nothing’s going to happen, trust me!"

Having said that, Jiang Cheng walked to the other side without saying goodbye to Mu Yu.

Jiang Cheng understood well enough that whatever assistant the higher-ups assigned, whether it was a boy or a girl, surely wouldn’t be weak. Naturally, they’d have their own strengths. If the assistant were really so vulnerable, they wouldn’t be joining his team.

"Jiang Cheng, where are you going now? Don’t run around, okay?" Mu Yu shouted irritably toward Jiang Cheng.

Jiang Cheng heard her but didn’t look back, yet still replied, "I’m going to buy a drink, I’m so bored! I’ll bring you one later, okay?"

Jiang Cheng was now queueing at the Starbucks window, planning to buy two cups of Frappuccino to bring back, one for Mu Yu, and the other for the as-yet-unmet new assistant.

Though he verbally complains about the new colleague, he must treat others fairly.

"Who snatched my bag?! Somebody, catch the thief!" a middle-aged woman shouted in a panic not far away.

Thieves these days are really bold, daring to steal amidst so many airport cameras! Truly not taking the team seriously!

Jiang Cheng looked in the direction the woman pointed and saw a fair-looking girl frantically running forward, instinctively thinking the girl was the thief, he shouted, "What, girls are starting to be thieves now?!"

Having said that, Jiang Cheng ran toward the girl; with his long and elegant legs, he quickly reached her like a leopard.

"What are you doing? Don’t stand in my way! You’re delaying my proper work, can you take responsibility for that?" The girl was initially chasing the bag snatcher, but suddenly was blocked by Jiang Cheng, and angrily retorted.

Jiang Cheng frowned and gravely said, "Can you, as a girl, have some integrity? Are these shady things considered normal to you young people nowadays? Do you realize how irresponsible you’re being?"

Young people these days, never short of shocking comments! Suddenly claiming stealing is a proper job in front of him, that’s absurd!

"Who said I’m a thief, are you nuts!" The woman seemed to have a hot temper, saw the thief already out of sight, and couldn’t hold back, directly swung a punch toward Jiang Cheng’s face.

Jiang Cheng was startled, immediately leaning his head to the side, extending his left hand to grab the woman’s hand, but she dodged.

Well, anyone who can dodge my punch, seems to be quite a fighter!
