Chapter 1426: Chapter 1416: Headquarters

"I’ve decided to release the inter-regional version of the Tengxun Computer Security Manager," Jiang Cheng said. He had promised Elder Xu to handle it but never found the time. Now that he had some free time, he quickly got to work.

Old Ma and Old Zhang, hearing what Jiang Cheng said, were suddenly invigorated. They had long wanted to release this inter-regional version but didn’t understand why Jiang Cheng always claimed the timing wasn’t right. Now that he finally agreed, how could they not be happy?

"So, Old Jiang, the timing is mature now?" Old Ma asked curiously.

He never understood what Jiang Cheng meant by the right timing. "Yes," Jiang Cheng said, then fell silent, leaving Old Ma and Old Zhang curious for more information.

"Alright, let’s do it this way. The inter-regional version won’t differentiate between home and business versions; we’ll sell them all at double the price of the business version," Jiang Cheng said.

"What?? Double the price!?" Old Ma and Old Zhang were astonished. Doubling the price meant a pure profit of two thousand per sale!

"That’s right, double it. Let them take it or leave it. Our current demand for the foreign market isn’t that great, so this is purely a friendly offer; they can buy it or not. It even increases our server load," Jiang Cheng wickedly said, to which Old Ma and Old Zhang had no objections.

"I’ll leave this software to Zhang Mengmeng to finish. After all, she’s idling all day, just eating here and there. But this woman never gains weight; I fear she might eat me into poverty," Jiang Cheng grumbled.

Currently, Zhang Mengmeng was deeply into gourmet food, discovering delicious places here and there daily, wandering from barbecue to hotpot to boiled dishes—busier than Jiang Cheng himself.

"Since this software is in Mengmeng’s hands, we’ll focus on updating the CC software. Now that CC’s registered users have surpassed five million, with three million daily active users, I believe it won’t be long before we dominate Hua Family’s instant messaging field. Once CC becomes a habitual tool for people, it’s a success!" Old Ma excitedly said.

"Alright, stop dreaming. Have the bugs in the new version been fixed? If you daydream so much, we might not even be able to meet the update schedule, let alone dominate instant messaging, and who knows how many people will still be using this software," Old Zhang coldly splashed reality on Old Ma.

"Why, now even fixing bugs requires you, the CEO, to do it personally?" Jiang Cheng asked curiously. Was the company’s manpower so tight that Old Ma, the chairman, had to do such trivial things personally?

"Isn’t it? Now that the company’s moving, I simply gave the employees two days off. These tasks I must do myself," Old Ma said with a bitter face.

"It seems the recruitment needs to be prioritized daily," Jiang Cheng said. Who would believe that the head of a technology company occupying twenty floors personally fixes bugs?

Old Ma wanted to continue venting to Jiang Cheng when there was a knock on the office door.

"Come in!" Old Ma said. Following that, the door opened, and Wen Xiaobai walked in.

"President Jiang, Ma Tian is here, now in the second-floor meeting room," Wen Xiaobai said to Jiang Cheng.

Ma Tian did come; it seemed he couldn’t escape my grasp! Jiang Cheng thought happily to himself.

"Let him come here directly; I’ll introduce someone to you," Jiang Cheng said to Old Ma and Old Zhang.

Wen Xiaobai nodded and walked out. Soon, he brought Ma Tian in.

When Ma Tian first arrived at Tencent Company, he was shocked. He had heard that Tencent was an up-and-comer but didn’t expect its hardware capability to be so robust, owning such a massive building as its headquarters. It seemed his dream of achieving success was just around the corner!

Seeing Jiang Cheng, Ma Tian respectfully called out, "Mr. Jiang." Jiang Cheng quickly stood up; Old Ma and Old Zhang followed suit. "Hey, why so formal? Let me introduce these two: this is Old Zhang, another general manager of Tencent Company, and this is Old Ma, the chairman. This is Ma Tian," Jiang Cheng briefly introduced them to each other.

After exchanging warm greetings, Ma Tian seriously said to Jiang Cheng, "Mr. Jiang, I’ve made up my mind. I am willing to accept your support; I want to establish the world’s largest internet commercial company!" The look in Ma Tian’s eyes was filled with determination.

"No, no! Be confident, just..." Ma Tian still hesitated a little.

"If you’re confident, then go for it; don’t be wishy-washy like a woman! Alright, you head back first. Once I get the company registered, I’ll call you," Jiang Cheng patted Ma Tian’s shoulder.

"Alright, I’ll wait for your news," Ma Tian nodded, feeling quite expectant.

After sending off Ma Tian, Jiang Cheng wandered around the company to familiarize himself with the surroundings, then left as well. At the entrance, the Tang Sect security guards had learned their lesson; seeing Jiang Cheng approach from afar, they hurriedly greeted him.

Leaving the company, Jiang Cheng pulled out his phone, scrolled through his contacts, and found someone named Zhang Jin. He dialed the number.

This Zhang Jin was someone Jiang Cheng met two days ago at the Government Office. Almost all the leaders with any influence in the mansion gave Jiang Cheng their numbers. As the saying goes, having connections in the court makes things easier; now was the time to use those connections. Why not use them if you have them?

Given the current operational efficiency in the Hua Family district, if you don’t look for connections, registering a company might take six months to a year. By then, the opportunity would have passed; starting a business would be futile. So, it’s still necessary to find some connections.

The call connected.

"Hello, who is this?" Zhang Jin’s voice came from the other end. Zhang Jin, currently the head of the Industrial and Commercial Brigade of Q Mansion, didn’t take the unfamiliar number lightly because it was his private number, and anyone who knew it had to be important. So, his tone was quite cordial.

"Boss Zhang, it’s Jiang Cheng," Jiang Cheng greeted.

"Jiang Cheng... Ah, Mr. Jiang, hello, hello! How do you have the time to call me?" Zhang Jin, hearing it was Jiang Cheng, didn’t immediately react. Fortunately, it was just two days ago, and his memory wasn’t that bad, so he quickly remembered who Jiang Cheng was.

Hahaha, Boss Zhang is a very busy man. I’m calling to ask for some help from you," Jiang Cheng said. When it came to small talk, Jiang Cheng was perfectly competent.

"Oh? What kind of matter even Mr. Jiang can’t handle? I can’t guarantee I can help you, Mr. Jiang," Zhang Jin said, and he wasn’t being modest. He had seen Jiang Cheng’s background, which was almost incomprehensible. Keeping Jiang Cheng’s contact was only a hopeful attempt to establish a connection. He never expected Jiang Cheng would actually need his help. Such a golden opportunity, of course, he couldn’t miss it!

"Boss Zhang, you’re joking. It’s around lunchtime now; do you have time for me to treat you to a meal?" Jiang Cheng said, believing that when seeking assistance, one should have the proper attitude, not acting superior just because of someone’s lower status.

"Mr. Jiang, you’re being too formal. Of course, this meal should be on me. How could I let Mr. Jiang spend?" Zhang Jin said upon hearing this. He couldn’t let this big opportunity slip away because it was a great chance to build a connection.
