Chapter 752 - 752: Unexpected Partner
“Hmm… This might be trickier than I expected.” Flora crossed her arms, contemplating.
“Yes.” Sera nodded.
“That’s just for the test. The journey itself might even be more dangerous than that.” Nathan shook his head helplessly.
“Still, it’s good that we have a clear condition now. As long as we do it, we can get the information.” Alavenya cracked her fingers. “Just beat them up. It’s that simple.”
“I don’t think it’s that simple. People are forgetting that my grandfather is more shrewd than most people because of his title. So, the challenge itself is not that simple.” Noelle interjected.
“Agreed. There might be hidden requirements as well.” Selena nodded, thinking about it carefully.
“Well, we have 3 goals.” Nathan raised three fingers.
“Three goals?” Sera frowned. “Are they the flexibility, judgment, and strength he previously mentioned?”
“That’s correct.” Asmodeus nodded. “If I have to reword it like a mission, you need to kill at least one warrior class alien on your own to prove your strength. However, because there are more warrior class aliens than us, he must want us to be flexible after confirming our strength.
“In other words, we’re allowed to fight together for the rest of the warrior class aliens. Because of that, we should be able to cover each other’s weaknesses and create an even more powerful strength.
“If we have worked together and still can’t defeat a warrior class alien at a much faster pace, that means we fail this test.
“Last but not least, judgment. He wants us to see who will be fighting with who and what will you do in an abnormal situation? There’s a chance that the observer himself will make a move to cause that abnormal situation.
“Hence, those are the three missions if I have to word it.” Asmodeus explained.
Nathan nodded in agreement. “Well, you don’t have to worry if you think you will have a hard time fighting them one-on-one. The five of us will handle all the aliens around that warrior class alien while you can focus on that single alien.
“This is a necessary requirement, so I accept that condition. In fact, I believe that all of us have that strength.” Nathan nodded. “For this mission, as well as the expedition to save Selena’s father, I’m afraid I have to be a bit more selfish and take command the whole time.
“It’s my decision to save Selena’s father, so I have to ensure the safety of the group.” Nathan explained.
All of them exchanged looks. Normally, Nathan didn’t command much because he wanted them to improve individually. But with Nathan commanding them, they could move freely, knowing that Nathan would take care of the unexpected things.
They all agreed with Nathan’s arrangement.
“Yes. That sounds good.” Sera nodded. “We’re looking forward to saving Count Ashton.”
Nathan smiled before raising two fingers. “In that case, this week, we will focus on preparing for the mission. Depending on what kind of story the Sword Saint will tell us, I might have to adjust the preparation time for that expedition.
“And to do it, I’m planning to summon my fifth familiar. If you wish to do the same, please do so.”
Noelle had just summoned her familiar, so she didn’t have enough ena to summon another familiar. On the other hand, the closest one to summon their next familiar was Sera. But even Sera would need more time to summon Uriel.
Hence, none of them wanted to summon their next familiar yet.
Nathan confirmed with a nod. “All right. In that case, let’s focus on how to take down a warrior class alien. Also, Flora. I might need your help after this.”
“Mhmm.” Flora nodded.
“If no one is going to add anything else, the meeting is adjourned.”
All the girls, except for Flora, left the room. Flora sat next to him, asking, “What do you want me to do?”
“To summon the next familiar, I need a sacrificial item. And this time, I need something big.”
“Something big? Something the royal family has?” Flora raised her eyebrows. If they asked for such an item, it might become a bit troublesome.
However, Nathan shook his head. “No. What I want to summon is a beast called Kun and Peng. Peng is a large bird, while Kun is a big whale.”
“Whale?!” Flora covered her mouth in surprise.
“Yes. I might need to ask for your aunt’s help.” Nathan smiled wryly.
“I see.” Flora looked down, falling into deep thought. “It will be bad if I ask it like this. Knowing my aunt, you will probably have to visit her directly.”
“That’s what I originally planned to do.” Nathan nodded. “Besides, you mentioned previously that your mother is not in the capital city but is staying with your aunt, right?”
“Yes. After the volcanic eruption, my father moved her there to ensure her safety. Don’t tell me…”
Nathan nodded. “Since I have seen your father, I think it’s only right for me to visit your mother as well.”
Flora gasped before nodding furiously. “Yes. I understand. I will try to send them a letter to let them know.”
“Thanks.” Nathan waved his hand.
Flora smiled. “But do dress up. Although my mother is not strict, my aunt is still a military person.”
“Of course.”
“In that case, I will draft up a letter first.” Flora waved her hand and hurriedly exited the room.
Nathan smiled. There was one more place for him to go before visiting Flora’s hometown. It was none other than his master’s place. Considering the timing, his master should be about to leave.
So he at least wanted to say goodbye. Though, there was one more thing he would like to try if possible.
To his surprise, Melissa actually visited Vivian’s workshop with a different kind of clothes. She was wearing shorts instead of a skirt. In fact, if he took a closer look, whether it was her robe or her vest, they were made of high-quality materials.
“Miss Melissa?”
“Oh. Nathan?! What’s wrong? Do you want to become my disciple?” Melissa grinned.
“Ahaha. Please don’t joke about it. But are you planning to leave the town?”
“Huh? Your master hasn’t told you about it?” Melissa looked surprised.
“No? I just returned from the front line.”
“Oh. Well, as you can see, I will be going with your master to the front line to hunt some aliens. There are some places I want to visit.” Melissa smirked.
