Chapter 496 Changing the Direction of the Interrogation (Bonus)
In the interrogation, Nathan first confirmed all kinds of information they got from Jisawn with Kana.
However, without the help of the contract, it was expected that Kana was answering them honestly but as simply as possible so that they couldn’t extract as much information. Experience tales with empire
Nathan looked a bit annoyed.
Evelyn noticed the difference between the two, wondering what Nathan did to make Jisawn confess all that information. After all, the spy should be more resistant to interrogation than Kana.
After confirming all that information, Nathan asked for the list of the names they had kidnapped.
Unfortunately, Kana couldn’t give out all the names for one reason or another. However, they still managed to get 82 names from her.
They probably had to focus on the 82 people and let fate take care of the rest.
As expected, Kana didn’t have any information about the Bloody Banquet as well. There wasn’t much useful information from her, which they had originally expected, but it still felt disappointing.
In the end, the interrogation lasted for only an hour before they moved on to the next target.
Daniel was in charge of destruction, so the muscle brain didn’t really have a lot of information to begin with.
The only reason they wanted to interrogate him was because of his connection to the Bloody Banquet, basically Evelyn’s request.
However, it actually created a rather interesting scene when Evelyn interrogated Daniel regarding the Bloody Banquet.
“Were you involved with the Bloody Banquet?”
Daniel was actually grinning as if he was enjoying it and expecting this question the whole time. “Yeah.”
Evelyn clenched her hands into fists while glaring at Daniel. “What organization was involved in that attack? It’s definitely not the Divine Hand Organization. What is your previous organization?!”
The smile on Daniel’s face widened. With such a confident expression, he stated, “I don’t know.” It was as if he wanted to taunt her with this information.
“You don’t know? You bastard. Don’t lie!” Evelyn slammed the table. Her killing intent leaked out of her eyes, which could be felt by Nathan and the others.
Anubis calmly turned to Evelyn. “He is not lying. He doesn’t know about it.”
“!!!” Evelyn widened her eyes in shock, looking at Anubis in disbelief. She wanted to question Anubis’ ability, but Nathan interjected.
“Did you remember the faces of your comrades or other perpetrators?”
Daniel looked a bit surprised, but he still answered it. “Yes.”
“Did you remember their names or other information?”
“No.”
“!!!” Evelyn’s body shook, understanding what was actually going on.
Anubis was the one confirming it. “His memory has been erased to a certain extent. His body still remembers it, and the fact that he did it still remains, but his memory of that organization, including the other perpetrators, is gone.
“You can ask things, but he won’t be that useful. However, he is indeed involved.” Anubis pointed at the scale.
The balance tipped once again.
“You might be able to erase your memory, but you can’t erase your sin.”
Evelyn fell silent. The other two didn’t move the balance, meaning that they didn’t take part in the massacre. On the other hand, Daniel didn’t know anything about it, but his sin was still recorded.
As a result, he couldn’t escape the judgment.
Anubis could use this ability to ask random people to see if they were involved, but they didn’t know where to start.
Evelyn bit her lips. It was frustrating. She thought she could finally have a lead, but she was wrong.
Nathan, on the other hand, hadn’t given up yet. “How did you get into the Divine Hand organization?”
Daniel looked panicked for a split second.
“I met the leader in Blood Town.”
“Blood Town?” Isabella stood up. “That lawless town?”
“You know it?” Nathan frowned.
“Blood Town is a name that everyone gives to that town after the fall of Marquis Elegia from the Liaystian Kingdom. That place was lawless. There was an attempt from the Liaystian Kingdom to subjugate that place, but they failed to do so.
“I don’t know much about the details, but they were said to be attacked by a few people during the night, which annihilated 80% of their forces.
“The town was covered in blood, which ended up becoming the nickname of that town. The Liaystian Kingdom considered it as a neutral zone now, which allowed them to contain all kinds of criminals in that single town.
“Don’t tell me. Those few people were actually involved in the Bloody Banquet? Or did they create the organization that caused it?!” Bella gasped.
“!!!” Evelyn stood up as if she wanted to teleport to that town right away.
However, Nathan stopped her. “Wait a moment. There’s a chance that the Blood Town might have no clue about them anymore, or they might have abandoned that place. I suggest that we carefully infiltrate that town to get some information.
“If there is no more trace of them, then it’s better if we capture Garam Haygaiden. There’s no way Garam Haygaiden would come to the Blood Town and recruit him for no reason. In fact, they might have known each other before his memory was erased.”
“Jisawn mentioned that he didn’t know Garam’s true goal. Hence, there was a possibility that Garam was actually one of the members of that mysterious organization and chose to create it for his own ambition or true goal.
“If you go there carelessly, they might realize it and erase their presence. That’s why you should wait and calm down!”
Evelyn’s body was shaking, so Nathan grabbed her wrists, making sure that she couldn’t escape.
Evelyn bit her lips. She couldn’t wait, but looking at Nathan’s resolute eyes was actually reassuring. It was as if telling her that he would find it for her.
Evelyn took a deep breath before grabbing Nathan’s hand to let her go. She nodded, assuring him that she wouldn’t do anything reckless.
Hence, Nathan slowly released her and took a step back.
“For now, we should continue the interrogation. There are still a few things I want to check. His memories might have been erased, but his sin hasn’t.” Nathan smirked.
