Chapter 486 Unrest
Azilia Kingdom Royal Palace.
“What? They have found the solution already?”
“Is this real?”
“They’re not joking? Or are they trying to get some resources from us?”
The people were a bit skeptical about the solution. On the one hand, it was good that they could solve the food problem. On the other hand, it was too fast to be true. After all, this disaster had just started, so they thought it would take at least a week before coming up with such a thing.
So, it was reasonable to suspect them a bit.
“Still, the one who worked on it was not just Vivian. It was mentioned that Ryan Reeves, the guild leader of the Blacksmith Guild, was also working on it.”
“Maybe they had some research about this situation, so it was already close to completion before the eruption?”
The people were in confusion. If this news came at least three days later, they would be this suspicious. However, the fact it was too fast was the problem.
Julius fell silent for a moment, wondering what was actually going on. In the end, Noelle and Flora weren’t there to personally witness it, so they couldn’t confirm it.
However, if this turned out to be true and other kingdoms ended up taking the initiative, the result would be horrible.
Julius stated, “They mentioned that the Blacksmith Guild also provided some materials, so it didn’t mean they wanted all of our materials. If this turns out to be true, we should send our materials before anybody else.
“If this wasn’t true, they were still on that land. If I recall correctly, there was a noble complaining about them suddenly receiving thousands of people, right?
“That fact alone made it simple because it would be hard for thousands of people migrating. They would need more time, so if this was not true, we could confront them right away.
“Still, we should hope this news was true. We probably could sustain more people than we originally thought with the solution.” Julius waved his hand. “Grant them materials. Marquis Turnel. You personally hand over the materials to them. Make sure you take a look at their progress and report to me right away.”
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
Julius turned to his prime minister. “Send the message to other kingdoms about this as well. If they’re fooling us, they will fool other kingdoms as well. On the other hand, we couldn’t care less about how they react to this absurd news. Enjoy new chapters from empire
“We have done our parts and shall continue doing our best for the kingdom. Get ready, the situation is about to go out of control. Morning has come. How is the situation of the capital city and other cities? How do people respond to the sudden sight of an ash cloud? What kind of impact would humans get if their lungs were filled with ash?
“What we need to do right now is to quell the people’s unrest. It’s good that others are thinking about the food problem, so we’ll just leave it to them and believe in them. If they dare to cheat us, we’ll act. But for now, they haven’t, so just focus on our main task!”
The moment Julius mentioned the next topic, their expressions turned grim.
They all knew what was going to happen.
In the capital city, it was a mess. The castle was under control, but the people were perplexed.
“What’s going on?”
“Why is it so dark?”
*Cough!* Another person coughed as the ash entered his lung.
“It’s freezing out here.”
The people were confused, wondering what they should do. Then again, it wasn’t like they could get their answer right away.
While there was no chaos yet, it might reach that point the more they waited. Hence, they had to act fast, especially those who had to be evacuated.
“Where are we going?” An old lady asked, walking as fast as she could while lifting her skirt.
“I don’t know, Ma’am. Somewhere in the north. The situation is going to be dangerous in the south because there’s a high chance the aliens will become even more ferocious, so you have to be evacuated.”
They had begun evacuating some nobles, specifically the families of the ministers, so that the few people in the court could actually work properly.
Some were visible to other people, which caused some suspicion. People didn’t think the noble would move for no reason. As a result, they thought that the nobles were hiding something from them.
Of course, there were a lot of clueless nobles because they weren’t directly connected to the court.
They also wondered the same thing, but some nobles panicked and ended up leaving the city without caring about their people.
Still, the most problematic thing they had to face was none other than the food and water supply.
In one place, a farmer found his farm getting swallowed by snow and ash.
“What is going on? The snow is fine, but what is this thing that gives a rotten smell? Is it going to kill my field? Can I even farm after this?”
Some were still having plants on their farms, mainly for the consumption of their animals.
“What’s wrong with the river? This one is not frozen, but…” a guy gasped, looking at the raging river. The color was much different from the usual, as he didn’t realize that the ash had combined with the water from the original river.
In another place, it was so cold that even the people couldn’t get out even though they wanted to.
There were a lot of reactions coming from the people, but most of them were just confused. This was the first time they experienced this kind of weather, so people first thought it was something special. But because the royal family hadn’t issued a statement, it might be nothing big.
Hence, most people just continued with their daily lives, not realizing that this was just the beginning of their suffering.
Still, even though Nathan could solve the food problem, there was still one big threat about to come to them.
It was none other than the aliens.
