Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts
Chapter 1967: Summoning Apep
Nathan stood on top of a small asteroid. There was a board containing the summoning circle on the asteroid, filled with all the materials he had.
His goal was to summon Apophis, one of the strongest beings in Egyptian mythology. So, it would be quite hard to control him.
Nathan summoned all of his familiars except for Tiamat, Abzu and Ananta. While it was true that fighting Apep was hard, he wanted to test the strength of his familiars.
He didn’t really want to hide these three familiars. After all, Apep would surely get their information. He just wanted to use this opportunity to let the others experience Apep’s power and overcome it. It would be like training instead.
Nathan took a deep breath before looking at his familiars who had circled around the summoning circle. They were raising their stance, ready to attack at any moment.
He first nodded, signaling them that he was about to begin. Nathan then raised his hand.
"O’ Miracle of the Universe, Divine Being of Summoning, please use my body as the beacon and grant the beloved being your passage. By my name, Nathan Reckmoon, heed my call and come forth to this world, great being of another world."
Nathan had changed the chant from a miracle of the world to the universe. After all, their bodies weren’t in their original world anymore.
This would most likely be the same case for Bella. It was true that accessing Loki’s information needed her to be connected to the original world, but the universe should have the same information. Or he could simply make another agreement with the universe to allow Bella to have the connection to the original world so that she could summon Loki.
Either way, everything was ready.
The summoning circle started to shine brightly, indicating that it had been fully activated. As soon as the materials were engulfed by the light, they gradually turned into a small form.
It was at this time that the first phenomenon occurred. The summoning circle started releasing black substance in all directions. The black substance looked like jelly, but it soon solidified and formed a massive body.
Nathan was the only direction that was protected from the black substance. At the same time, he ended up being surrounded by this substance.
"This doesn’t look very good." Xolotl narrowed his eyes.
"This is the first time I’ve seen such a phenomenon. Even other true gods are not like this..." Anubis activated his power.
Seeing the situation, the girls signaled each other and started releasing their power, spreading it as much as possible so that the energy didn’t spread to the nearby area.
They wanted to join the fight, but they also wanted to witness Nathan’s strength as well as this new familiar’s strength.
"Hoh? This is definitely not your average god." Chiyou grinned, excited. His blood was boiling after sensing the pressure emanating from the black substance.
"..." Nyx narrowed her eyes. "This power... it truly feels like I’m facing my father. Not necessarily, I’m afraid, but the power is just so different and powerful."
The black substance continued to expand, creating Apep’s body. In the myth, Apep could circle around the world and bite its own tail, so the body size alone was at least 300 meters in diameter. It made Nathan look like an ant or sand.
The length kept increasing as well.
From several kilometers to tens of kilometers to hundreds of kilometers.
In comparison, the current Kun was 400 km long and 20 km wide. According to Kun himself, he could expand to three times that number once he returned to his peak state. He could basically cover one side of a planet when he returned to his peak.
So, Nathan believed that Kun could become as big as a planet once he became a true god.
Meanwhile, Apep was already a true god, so he wondered how big Apep’s current size would be, considering he put 50 million ena to Apep. Yes, he wasn’t holding back when it came to ena.
It was true that it meant Apep would be stronger when he came out, but it would also show that Nathan intended to trust him. This way, they should be able to come up with an agreement after everything is over.
Apep continued to grow. His body width finally stopped growing at 1 kilometer. He was a snake, not a whale, so it was understandable.
However, the length was still growing. It only stopped after reaching 500 km. It wasn’t big enough to circle the world, but it actually made some sense. It wasn’t that Apep was small or that the myth was exaggerating.
The world they meant was actually their own realm. Yes, the realm where Egyptian mythology resided.
With his knowledge of the special realm, he thought it made sense to have this size. Of course, Apep would most likely grow larger once he returned to the peak, but this size was more than enough to wrap around Kun.
More importantly, Apep’s body started to reveal itself. The scale started to surface, but it made people realize what Apep was doing.
Its body was actually circling Nathan.
"!!!" Fenrir and the others widened their eyes. They couldn’t allow Apep to kill Nathan.
When the summoning had finished, Nathan looked up, seeing Apep staring back at him.
"Shaaa!" Apep lunged toward Nathan.
Nathan knew the fight was going to happen. There was simply no other way for them to communicate to Apep until he beat him up.
So, Nathan had activated his domain from the beginning. Nathan immediately disappeared as Apep swallowed everything whole. His body started moving to spread himself.
After all, Fenrir and the others had released their energy, ready to attack it at any moment.
However, Apep suddenly looked up.
"I’ve always wondered how big Yog-Sothoth is. I almost forgot that there is no concept of size when it comes to that guy. It’s not a matter of size. It’s a matter of concept..."
Apep couldn’t see Nathan, but it felt like Nathan was sitting in front of him, watching this universe in a marble.
Then, he extended his hand and crushed the marble.
*Crack!*
