Chapter 1741: Cthulhu’s Roles

Chapter 1741: Cthulhu’s Roles

After he was done, Nathan immediately headed to the North Pole. Evelyn and Cthulhu had been waiting there.

Of course, the familiars also came because they wanted to know the alien that stopped the attack earlier.

"So, this is the city that stopped the attack earlier." Tiamat looked at the sunken city. "Not only one, but many. It has been cultivated for hundreds of years."

"You are the alien... You look strong. As strong as me?" Xolotl couldn’t exactly know.

Cthulhu was the Ancient One. He was lower than the Outer Gods, but his strength was higher than the apex class.

Since the Outer Gods were stronger than True Gods, Cthulhu’s strength was indeed quite similar to that of the True Gods.

"I didn’t see you on the battlefield back then. Then again, you are not controlled..." Garuda narrowed his eyes.

"I humbly welcome you, Earth’s warriors. You may not be from the same places, but I recognize your origin. My power is not important. What is important is that we are at the end now."

"The end?" Nathan frowned.

"I have three tasks in this world. The first one is to recognize the chosen ones in this world. There are three chances, so this world can’t be destroyed before all the chances are used up. That’s why my second task is to protect this world.

"We have expected that an attack like this will be much more effective than sending the aliens. That’s why I’ve brought this city to this world. This city contains the power of my kin and I have cultivated it for the last few hundred years.

"Today is the day for it to be activated. By activating this barrier, this world can’t be destroyed from the outside. The barrier will remain for three hundred years until the next chosen one has appeared.

"That’s why I want to tell you that my role in this generation has ended."

They never thought Cthulhu actually had such a mission. But this was indeed perfect. They didn’t need to worry about another asteroid hitting this world.

There was still one more question. "What if Yog-Sothoth descended here?"

"When the black cell took over our race, our warriors fought gallantly. Some of them fell on the battlefield, some survived, and the rest were captured.

"Those who were captured got brainwashed and would become the fighters on their side. I’m sure that you have fought them."

Nathan recalled the one thousand elite class aliens as well as the previous apex class alien invasion.

They were definitely the Ancient Ones, so he acknowledged it. "Yes."

"They have been preserving themselves, but it is only a matter of time before all of them are completely controlled. Before that, you have to exit this world."

"Are there so many of them?"

"Yes." Cthulhu answered without hesitation. "There are so many of them. If they are ever unleashed, this world will be destroyed in seconds. That’s why you need to leave this world. My barrier can stop the invasion from the outside, but not the ones coming from the portals."

"..." Nathan looked down, contemplating.

It looked like he didn’t need to worry about the asteroid, but the barrier wasn’t effective against Yog-Sothoth’s power.

If those aliens came to this place and destroyed the source of power, the barrier might be undone.

In that case, it would be best for Nathan to leave this world as quickly as possible. This way, the black cell would focus on his team rather than this world.

Elysion would protect the people living in this world, while Cthulhu’s barrier would protect them from outside threats.

Nathan asked, "I have heard about your two tasks. What about the third task?"

"My third task has something to do with the chosen one that will appear three hundred years later. It is something I shouldn’t disclose to any of you."

Nathan didn’t press him further. It was understandable that the less he knew, the better. It would prevent Azathoth from knowing the plan as well if he ever got branded by Azathoth.

Nathan nodded. "All right. So, what are you going to do next?"

"I will go back to my slumber again. The barrier will disappear, but it will return the moment it senses another threat."

"Before that, can you give everyone your sigil? This way, they can talk to other entities in this universe."

"I can." Cthulhu extended his hand and released a light. This light soon split into a few, heading to Selena and the others who hadn’t received the sigil.

Nathan thought for a moment before asking, "There is one more person who is not here. Can you also give that to her? She is my disciple, and she will become strong enough to eventually leave this world. I believe that she will eventually regroup with us to fight the black cell."

"Why don’t I give you something better?" Cthulhu extended his big finger. "Please extend your hand."

Nathan was confused, but he still followed his instructions.

As soon as they touched each other, Nathan suddenly felt an influx of information in his brain.

"Kh..." Nathan gritted his teeth as though he were in pain. The others frowned, but Nathan raised his hand, telling them he was all right.

This was the information about all the languages he knew. It wasn’t just a matter of worlds or races anymore.

Even in a single world, there could be many languages. A race would also have its own language.

Now that he thought about it, the people in this world could understand their familiars.

When he thought about it, a dragon should have a dragon language or a dragon tongue. The same applied to elves and other races.

What Cthulhu transferred was his knowledge of millions of languages. At this rate, Nathan could actually speak and write all kinds of languages that had been discovered in this universe.

Last but not least, he also received knowledge on how to transfer his own knowledge.

In other words, he could create his own sigil.

"If you truly intend to fight against the black cell, Nyarlathotep is supposed to remove my sigil so that it won’t trace back to me when you fight Azathoth. But this way, you can create your own sigil and let them speak to all races in this universe.

"If you win, there will be nothing else to say. If you lose, it will be traced back to you, not me. This way, I can wait for the opportunity that will come three hundred years later without any worries."
