Chapter 1645: Bad News
Chapter 1645: Bad News
"So... what are we going to do this time?" Flora asked. Behind her was the captain of the Shadow Guards. Vista had just reorganized the records they had brought back from the Asura Palace.
Although they hadn’t completed the research, they had made some breakthroughs, which Vista believed needed to be reported.
Nathan looked at the map. He had finally found the capital of the Asura Palace, but the problem was its environment. "I’m afraid that there are even more elite class aliens scattered in this place.
"If we look at this map, to reach this place, we only have two options. The first is to go through this route, while the second is through teleportation. On the one hand, teleportation might be good, but it’s quite dangerous. We will be surrounded in no time.
"We can probably teleport our way to safety, but wasting this much energy at this depth doesn’t sound good. If we disturb them, we may risk all these aliens coming into human territory."
Nathan crossed his arms. "As expected, the first route will be the best choice. We have to take them down little by little. By lowering their number, we can create a safe environment to reach this place.
"In the worst-case scenario, I may need to split the group into two, one is to pierce through the Asura Palace, while the other is to sweep the aliens around this place."
Flora nodded in understanding. "Thank you, Vista. Please continue to research the records. We may need more information to figure out exactly what happened. We still have... how much time do we have?"
Nathan contemplated. "Looking at the situation, I expect the next expedition to begin in one and a half months."
Flora turned to Vista, telling him to begin with that deadline.
Vista nodded. But as he was about to leave, they suddenly felt an extraordinary power coming from outside the city.
"!!!" Flora widened his eyes.
"This is..." Vista gasped.
Nathan didn’t waste even a second. He used his teleportation to bring himself directly to the source of the presence.
...
Outside the city, a man smiled.
"So, this is his city. Impressive. However, I definitely need to talk to him right now, so..." The man stepped forward and released a portion of his energy.
This energy was powerful enough to be sensed by all the world class summoners in the area.
The Dragon King was stationed in the city, so he was the first to arrive.
The next two were Evelyn and Nathan with their teleportation. The rest of the world class summoners, including Vista, came out to see who was invading their territory.
"Well, there are many people who are here to receive me." The man smiled. There were actually twelve world class summoners standing before him.
Most of them were a bit confused, not recognizing the man. After all, this man had only shown himself to a small number of people.
However, they definitely knew his name.
Nathan stepped forward. "Elysion Aquamoon. What are you doing here?"
"!!!" The rest of them gasped. "What?"
"That person is the Elysion?"
"The strongest summoner in the world..."
Elysion waved his hand with a gentle smile. "I’ve come to bring you some news..."
"News?" Nathan raised his eyebrows. He walked toward Elysion and asked everyone to stand down but remain careful.
The others approached as well, but Evelyn and Luna were trying to make sure that everyone would be safe in case a fight broke out.
Elysion nodded with a serious expression. "I can sense death looming around the corner. This time, the scale won’t be as small as a few thousand. I’m afraid at least a million people are going to die."
"!!!" They were shocked. Was Elysion the type of person who would tell a joke like this?
Nathan’s expression turned grim. He recognized the truth right away and realized what was going on. "The army of the Ancient Ones is coming."
"Ancient Ones?" Vista and the Dragon King were clueless about the Ancient Ones. However, the rest of the girls realized they were really in trouble.
"Do you know anything about this danger?" Elysion asked. He had never encountered an army of one thousand elite class aliens even in his previous life, so he looked a bit confused.
Nathan nodded solemnly. "It is an army of one thousand elite class aliens. And this army will definitely not come with just a thousand."
Vista felt a chill down his spine. He thought alpha class aliens were already terrifying, but an army like this would definitely wipe out the entire kingdom.
He realized this was the danger that Nathan had been warning them about.
When Elysion heard about the scale, he figured out this might be the danger that brought so much death.
Elysion thought for a moment before saying, "So, what are you going to do?"
"That depends on how much time we have?"
"Ah." Elysion closed his eyes for a few seconds as though he were trying to feel it. "I can only give you a rough estimate. It might arrive in two to three months at best. It might be as low as a month."
"..." Nathan’s expression darkened. This was worse than he initially thought. If all those aliens were coming so soon, they wouldn’t have enough preparation to handle them.
Their group might be able to take on a hundred elite class aliens at a time, but not ten times that number.
At least, not yet. If all of them had formed their divine rule, they could at least take on half of that army.
With that much firepower, Nathan could employ a few strategies to win the war.
However, they were not prepared for this whole mess yet.
They really couldn’t wish for the best because it was Nathan they were talking about. Nathan’s only possibilities were either bad or worse.
Nathan understood this as well, so he immediately considered one month as the deadline.
Nathan took a deep breath before turning to Vista. It wasn’t time to care about whether Vista would only follow Flora’s orders or not anymore.
"Vista! I need the entire Shadow Guard to drop all research and go on the highest-difficulty mission. I need them to scout the front line and check if that army is gathered somewhere. Any signs will do. I need to see whether we can do anything to mess up their plan."
