Chapter 1532: Professor Nathan
Chapter 1532: Professor Nathan
Nathan was silent for a while. He was quite surprised that the tower master showed no hint of greed all this time. In addition, he even helped him shut some people up.
As he said, if Nathan teleported from here, no one would be able to catch him. Besieged his people? What would it do if Nathan chose to abandon his life here?
Thanks to this reminder, the people were able to think with clearer minds.
He let out a sigh before saying, “Well, this is not really an appropriate atmosphere to continue…”
The way he said it made him look like he wanted to leave. And there was no guarantee that he would hold another presentation like this.
The people really wanted to murder the guy that asked such a question. Even if nothing happened here, people doubted he would live much longer.
Nevertheless, no murder happened here, as Nathan added, “…but I guess I will consider the tower master’s face and continue with the presentation.”
Nathan raised two fingers. “The next two techniques are the breathing technique and the link technique. These two are harder to demonstrate, so you have to experience them yourself.
“Let me explain how it works.” Since the atmosphere had become awkward due to the question, Nathan continued as quickly as possible.
He briefly explained everything about the two techniques and even provided the transcripts for them. This way, they could go back and test it themselves.
Thanks to the tower master, no one spoke a single word during or after the presentation.
However, the impact that these two techniques had was less than the absorption technique. It couldn’t be helped, considering these two were auxiliary techniques, while the absorption technique was related directly to their talent.
Nathan didn’t care how they were perceived. Once they found it useful, they would use it anyway.
And the fact that he had something better would make people think about becoming Nathan’s subordinates to receive such a benefit. They were already aware of Nathan’s city as well as his family.
If he really became an established family, he would definitely need a lot of subordinates. This was their chance.
On the other hand, Nathan continued on to the second topic.
“Let’s move on to the last topic that I will present today. I call this Summoning Fragment Restoration.”
Nathan drew three images. The first one was an image of a person standing in front of a summoning link with a dog-looking creature. The second image showed the link between the human and the familiar. The last image contained the broken fragment.
“When you do the summoning ritual and summon a familiar successfully, you will create a link between you and your familiar. We call this a summoning link. However, do we really summon a familiar from another world?
“I believe Professor Melissa has explained it to you earlier. The answer is no. When you summon your familiar, it is the same as breaking a piece of this world and putting it inside you.
“This piece of information is stored within that fragment, as Professor Melissa said. Now, the problem is that this fragment is not intact.
“If you summon your familiar right now and feel their summoning fragment, you will find out that it has shattered into pieces. The summoning links are doing their best to keep them in one place, which makes them look like a spider web.
“This is a technique that will restore the summoning fragment to its former state.
“I will have to add a minimum requirement for this attempt, not because it’s dangerous, but because of its difficulty. The more ena you have, the easier it will become. But it’s best if you attempt it at the master level. Even on this level, I doubt many will succeed.
“So, if you ask me, what is the benefit of this technique? It’s not for you. The benefit is for your familiar.
“If your familiar can become stronger just by repairing their summoning crystal, I believe you can improve your combat strength with little effort.”
The people couldn’t ignore this possibility.
Melissa introduced a method that utilized familiars in a different way. As they involved familiars deeper and deeper, they would end up relying on their familiars a lot.
So, having their familiars get stronger would definitely help them a lot.
Nathan explained to them about the steps for the restoration.
With this, everyone would return home with at least 7 pages of paper in their bag, each containing everything that had been discussed before.
Once they proved everything that had been presented, they would be able to improve by leaps and bounds.
Even Nathan progressed quickly because of this method.
Nathan hoped they could get stronger and fight the aliens. If they could push them back, they might give him the precious time to grow his strength so that he could fight the outer gods.
“And that marks the end of my presentation. Thank you for your attention.” Nathan smiled.
Before anyone could say anything, the tower master stood up. “Wait.”
Because of his outburst earlier, the people froze, thinking there was another problem.
Nathan looked at the tower master in confusion.
The tower master declared, “I believe all the elders here have agreed with me. I don’t think anyone would object to it either.
“I’d like to bestow on Nathan Reckmoon the title of professor. I also want to put your portrait in the Ascension Hall.”
“Hmm?” Nathan didn’t recognize this name. For Melissa and Vivian, they thought it was only natural.
The Ascension Hall was basically the hall where they hung the portraits of all the greatest researchers in the world. Only the best of the best could enter this hall.
In 500 years, there were only 16 people who could enter this hall.
If they included the magic weapons, the new classifications, and the cloud-repelling device in his achievement, it was only natural for Nathan to receive this kind of treatment. Though no one had ever received it at the age of 18.
Nathan wasn’t really aware of all these facts. All he thought about was the fact that he had helped this continent, meaning he would get more karma.
This karma would be valuable for his future improvement.
