Chapter 1151 - 1151: Crystal Summoners
“So, the first phase has been completed?” Evelyn asked.
“Yes. With this, we have established the connection with the marquis. I don’t know whether she is able to do it, but if she’s truly the opportunity that has been divined, she should be able to convince the marquis. Through that marquis, I will find those people.”
“Thank you.” Evelyn nodded. “I feel like I’m useless this time. I haven’t even done anything.”
“What are you saying? You are useful. Just standing next to me alone is enough. Not only will you stop any idea of capturing me, but I can also use your strength to pressure the other party. After all, in a negotiation, your strength is the perception of your strength.
“If you look weak, people underestimate you. If you look strong, people will act carefully.”
“I see…” Evelyn contemplated. She wanted to do something more, but it looked like she had to let Nathan handle everything by himself. While looking down, she noticed that her ring had lit up. “Hmm? Nathan. We’ve got a communication request.”
“Pick it up. No one is watching us, right?” Nathan looked around.
“No, Master,” replied Mae.
“All right.” Evelyn channeled her energy into the ring and said, “This is Evelyn.”
“Oh, sorry for not calling you last night. I was too tired last night after compiling some reports.” Bella’s voice came from the ring.
“It’s fine. We’re doing well here. How about you?”
“Nothing goes wrong for us. In fact, we have found out some basic information about this continent. That’s what I’m reporting right now. I’ve told Revon and Neyeid.”
“Sure. Looks like you three are working hard.”
“Well, these two are fired up, trying to outdo each other like usual.” Bella chuckled.
“Take care of them, or they might end up working themselves to death just to defeat the other.”
“Hahaha. I will. Anyway, here is the report. On this continent, there are only two big influences. Dynasty in the east, Empire in the west.”
“Hmm?” Nathan felt something was wrong. “Wait a minute. Judging by the patrol on the sea, don’t tell me we are in the Dynasty right now while you guys are in the Empire.”
“Yes,” confirmed Bella. “The Dynasty has been ruled by the Erwih family for eight hundred years. They call themselves the apostles of the heavens.
“Meanwhile, the Empire is ruled by the emperor. The emperor has combined all smaller kingdoms to create the empire. Basically, it’s the Liaystian Kingdom but on a larger scale. However, unlike the Liaystian Kingdom, the record makes it look like they’re ruling it like the Azilia Kingdom.
“Regarding their political structure, it’s similar to ours. We have royalty, dukes, marquises, earls, counts, and barons. Meanwhile, the dynasty and empire have grand dukes, dukes, marquises, counts, viscounts, and barons.”
“I see.” Nathan crossed his arms. “How about general terminology such as ena and other things?”
“While specific things have some differences, general knowledge about summoning seems to be the same. Since this is the knowledge from the aliens, they call other races aliens, the cores, the ena, and so on.
“However, while the classification of the alien races is the same as ours, from proto-class to apex class, the classification of the summoners is different. Instead of dividing them according to the ena, they classify them according to the utilization of the fragment.
“There are six stages: Crystal Summoner, Crystal Manifestation, Crystal Tool, Crystal Sense, Crystal Armor, and Crystal Fusion. I’m not entirely sure whether there’s a high state or not since it might be a state secret, but these six stages are common knowledge.”
“Hmmm? Crystal?” Nathan frowned. “Is it because of the fragment?”
“Most likely. From what we have found, the summoners on this continent are harnessing the power of fragments. It can be said that the utilization depends on the amount of ena used and the control over that power.
“Once you are able to become a summoner and summon your first familiar in the original form, you are called a Crystal Summoner.
“However, once you are able to convert your familiar into a crystal and utilize the power of that fragment, such as an element or ena, you have reached the Crystal Manifestation stage. Basically, it’s the people who are able to wield elements through the crystal.
“The next stage is when the summoner is able to convert the crystal into a tool. This is called the Crystal Tool Stage. The tool will be able to unleash energy, power, or anything it has and amplify your energy.
“If I convert it into our continent’s summoning system, the Crystal Manifestation is the Lifebound Contract, and the Crystal Tool is the enhancement of the Lifebound Contract.
“The next stage is Crystal Sense. This is the phase where you begin assimilating with the crystal. You will be able to gain a portion of your familiar’s power.
“Lifebound contracts only give you talent and element, right? This stage will give you the senses of your familiars, like how they perceive the world or their instincts.
“The fifth stage is Crystal Armor. Once you are able to assimilate with your familiar to a certain extent, you are manifesting them outside. It’s similar to the Crystal Tool Stage, but it has full body armor.
“Last but not least, the Crystal Fusion. At this stage, it will be a fusion between you and your familiar. For example, if you have reached the Crystal Fusion, you can become a werewolf if you fuse with Fenrir. Of course, you will be able to harness the power in his body to the fullest.
“Basically, this is a progressive classification. If you have reached the Crystal Armor Stage, you can create an armor, have your familiars’ senses, and even manifest the tool as a weapon.”
Nathan and Evelyn listened attentively. It was a foreign concept to them, but they finally understood why a mineral that could contain ena was useless. They could utilize the familiars as tools, so there was no need to progress in this area.
Mae noted everything down, while Nathan and Evelyn exchanged nods.
Nathan asked, “In that case, can you explain how to harness the power of the fragments?”
“That is…”
