Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 1127: Faith

Chapter 1127: Faith

“Karma, Fate, and Destiny… The past, the present, and the future…” Nathan muttered. “Karma is accumulated from your past actions, which ultimately symbolize your past. When things happen, you call it fate or fated to happen. However, your future is your destiny.

“As such, it can be described as the past, the present, and the future…” Nathan gasped.

“That is correct.” Cthulhu confirmed Nathan’s answer. “There is no right or wrong. Whether you are doing bad things or good things, you will simply have either bad or good karma.

“Fate is the power influenced by fortune and misfortune, born from your karma. The first two will influence your destiny.

“Unfortunately, I can’t explain it to you in detail because I haven’t comprehended it myself. However, if you are able to have the condensation of these three and fuse it with your divine body, you will be able to become a god.”

“The condensation of these three…” Nathan looked down, falling into deep thought.

Cthulhu observed Nathan. Unlike the others around him, Nathan had accumulated so much good karma. He could see it. However, his luck had been twisted by an unknown power.

If he couldn’t resolve this unknown power, his destiny would become unclear. Even he didn’t know what kind of power could mess with his fate. But it was clear that the accumulated karma was fueling that unknown power.

To his surprise, Nathan was able to discern the true meaning of this condensation. Nathan asked, “Why does this sound like Faith?”

Cthulhu was astonished. It was something he was going to reveal gradually, but Nathan was able to arrive at that answer so quickly.

“Faith?” Evelyn raised her eyebrows. “Do you mean like religions?”

“Not entirely. I’m talking about the purest form of faith.” Nathan raised one finger. “If we talk about the meaning of faith, it is strong belief, conviction, and so on.

“Because you do good things, you accumulate good karma. You help people, and you create a belief that you are protecting them. You will then create a mutual relationship and a positive fate. That will turn into the belief that you are a good thing. Believing you is a good thing. It will give them hope and such.

“I’m sorry for explaining it this way, because I don’t entirely understand it as well.

“Faith might be often associated with gods or concepts. Yet, it can be said to emphasize your perception about one thing, which is you.

“After listening to all this, I know that the god we’re talking about is born from strength. In that case, why would they have their own followers? It is because they need faith.

“Combining karma, fate, and destiny to form a faith that will assimilate with your new divine body, creating the true form of a god.”

Evelyn was confused. “Still, doesn’t that mean you need to deify yourself, at least in front of other people? And if no one believes you anymore, you will vanish?”

Nathan shook his head. He pointed at Evelyn before saying, “Nope. After all, you still believe in yourself.”

“!!!” Evelyn froze. The meaning struck deep in her heart. “The combination of physical and spiritual existences… the true form of the god.”

Cthulhu never thought they would be able to arrive at this point without him showing the direction. It made him think that these people could do it.

“That is correct. Once you reach a certain point, you might be able to do this naturally. That’s why I won’t explain any further.”

Nathan nodded in understanding. He had figured it out. If he summoned his familiars and gave them this information, they would probably understand it immediately. However, they still needed to reach their peak first before even attempting to become a true god. Besides, there was still a problem with their ena.

Still, this was the last step. It might still be a bit vague, but he could already see the general direction.

Nathan looked at Cthulhu, saying, “I will do it. However, please don’t misunderstand. I’m not doing this because I want to help you or your race. I do this simply because I want to achieve my own goal. The singularity just happens to be on the way.

“I don’t know whether I will succeed or not, but I can promise you I will do my best. In exchange, you are going to provide us with information and necessary support.

“Even if this is the path I have to walk alone, I will see it through.” Nathan’s face was solemn. He had made his decision.

Evelyn and Vivian turned resolute. There was no way they would let Nathan walk alone. Although they didn’t know whether they could do it as well, they would strive for that ideal.

Meanwhile, it felt like a fire lit up in Bella’s frozen heart. She thought she had given up on improving, but all this talk somehow reminded her of the excited moment she used to experience when advancing her strength in the academy.

All people have a moment when they do something that actually helps them or others take a big leap. Just remembering it alone made them excited. It was not luck. It was the culmination of their progress.

Whether it was on their first step or their thousandth step, it was still a single step they achieved. Thanks to that experience, they felt excited and wanted to grow further and further.

Most people had lost that drive. Even Duke Sullivan acknowledged it. The world class summoner once thought they were weak. Thanks to that thought, they could aim higher and higher. They had a target to chase.

Once they reached the peak, their progress stagnated. Even if they progressed, they couldn’t help but think others hadn’t done the same thing. Was there a need to climb any higher?

One more time, Bella remembered the drive she had long forgotten. Little by little, her desire to get stronger reignited. She, too, didn’t want to be left behind. Even if she was less talented, she wanted to try her best, thinking that her moment might come again in the future.

Bella secretly clenched her hands into fists.
