Chapter 1085: Four Books
Chapter 1085: Four Books
Evelyn’s eyes widened in shock. “You… felt?”
“No. I was lying.” Nathan smirked. “So, you really had another intention in using that favor?”
“Ah!” Evelyn gulped. She had been tricked. “Vivian has told me how a few people, including her, have fallen for your wordplays. So, this is what she meant…”
Nathan’s smile grew bigger. “Why don’t you tell me about that request?”
“…” Evelyn closed her eyes for a moment before saying, “I won’t say it, but I will tell you that a portion of it has been achieved. Originally, I was planning to use that favor in front of your girls, just to tease you. But it has been granted just by changing my name.”
“Really?”
“Yes.”
Nathan contemplated. As expected, he couldn’t think of the kind of favor she had in mind back then. “Well, that’s fine then.”
“You sure?”
“You are not the type of person who will harm me. Besides, you probably understand what kind of person I am.”
“I do have confirmed it. No, you are the one who reveals your own nature in front of that alien.”
Nathan had told the alien that he was a guy willing to do anything, even making humanity go extinct. At the same time, he was a person who was clear with his grudges.
The moment the alien made him do unthinkable things, the relationship between him and the alien would go to the point of no return.
Nathan would definitely use everything in his possession to destroy the alien race.
That was why he believed Evelyn’s request wouldn’t harm him or his girls. It was probably enough to make him suffer a bit, but it wasn’t enough to hold a grudge.
Since there was no grudge, Nathan didn’t see any point in pursuing that request.
Evelyn smiled. “I envy those girls. You choose to trust them and leave them here. If any harm comes to them, you will definitely crush all those who harm them. That’s why you have the courage to leave this continent.”
“Envious? You can be one of them, you know?” Nathan grinned.
“That’s not… how you confess, right? If you are serious about it, I might really get angry this time.”
“Of course, I’m just teasing you.” Nathan chuckled.
Evelyn looked away and fell silent for a moment before saying, “Well, my mind and heart are filled with revenge. There’s no space for other things there. Maybe once my revenge is over, I will need something to fill up the space my revenge has left behind.”
“!!!” Nathan didn’t expect such a reply. It was the same as telling him to wait until the revenge was over.
The reason Evelyn looked away was simply that she didn’t know what kind of face she was making when saying those words. This was probably the first time she had been this close to the opposite gender.
Her dignity would have been gone if she had been making a funny face.
“In that case, I will be waiting.”
A small smile appeared on their faces, even though they couldn’t see it on each other’s faces.
A few minutes later, Rena returned to the room. “Sorry for making you wait this long.”
“It’s not a problem, Aunt.” Nathan raised her head, wondering what Rena had prepared.
“First of all, this is the layout of the ship. I can bring you over there if you want to show you around the ship.” Rena first opened the blueprints of the ship. “As requested, the ship is big enough to host two hundred people at once. It’s quite a big ship.
“The length is 40 meters (132 feet) and the width is 12 meters (39 feet). It has been equipped with one kitchen and several rooms, as well as hammocks. The sea can be rough at times. That’s why you can choose whether to sleep on a bed or a hammock.
“It’s a spacious ship for only several people, but I believe you’re going to use that space for your familiars, right?”
“Yes.” Nathan nodded.
“Do you have any people who can steer the ships?”
“Absolutely no. However, I’m planning to have a familiar to pull the ship.” Nathan couldn’t help but add inwardly, ’Hehehe. I have seen a ship being pulled by a cow and even a kraken. Now, it’s my time to create that legend by pulling the ship with Kun.’
“Repair?”
“No, but my teacher will be there.”
“Ah!” She nodded in understanding. Since the ship was made of wood and Vivian could regrow any type of wood, there was no damage she couldn’t repair.
“In that case, try these four books.” Rena presented four books and started introducing them. “This one contains knowledge about storms. If there’s a big enough storm, it can topple the entire ship.
“You have a summoner that can stop it, but conserving your energy is necessary. No one has ever ventured across the ocean after all.
“This book will tell you everything you need to know about basic steering, such as direction and when to open the sail. There’s also some knowledge about illness.
“The third book has all the knowledge about fish and aliens that have been encountered in the sea.
“Last but not least, the book about repair. But since the Forest Queen will be there, I don’t think the fourth book is necessary. Still, if you want to conserve your ena consumption, you can use this book.”
“Thank you very much. These books will help a lot.” Nathan glanced at Evelyn. “Should we give these to Bella?”
“Christopher is a much better choice. Bella can organize things, but Christopher can learn fast.”
“Either way, you should bring back the books.” Nathan nodded.
“Yeah.”
Nathan then turned to Rena. “We’ll return the books before departure.”
Since there was no printing machine in this world, the books had to be written manually by hand. Hence, each book was precious, so it was better to return it.
However, Rena raised her hand to stop him. “No need. You can return those books once you’re back. You don’t plan to make my nephew a widow even before marriage, right?” Rena’s face turned dark.
Nathan tensed up before revealing, “Actually, people have gone across the sea and found another land. We’re tracing back their route, so you don’t have to worry. At the very least, I don’t have the intention to be stuck in the sea.”
Rena let out a sigh of relief. “All right. You should still keep the books. You can use them as reference out there and return them after you’re back.”
Nathan smiled. “I understand. I promise I will return safely.”
“Good.” Rena stood up while pointing with her thumb. “Let’s go then. Check your ship!”
