Chapter 64: Chapter 64: The Judgment Alliance Is on a Looting Rampage? The Undead Army Marches!
It didn’t take John long to piece together what had happened.
The fifth day’s monster tide had been even more ferocious than the previous ones.
However, there were plenty of capable players as well, and many had managed to barely hold on to their territories.
Who would have thought that the Judgment Alliance would choose this exact moment to strike, taking advantage of everyone while they were at their weakest?
By now, the entire World Channel had turned into a forum for condemning the Judgment Alliance.
Tens of thousands of messages flooded the channel, packed with accusations, curses, and desperate pleas for help.
Yet ever since the incident began, not a single person from the Judgment Alliance had said a word.
As a result, the tens of thousands of angry messages gradually converged into a single voice.
"Big Brother Tyrant! Big Brother Tyrant, are you there?"
"@Tyrant, Boss! You’re the only person on the entire server who dares to stand up to the Judgment Alliance! You already wiped out their Third Division! Please, help us get some revenge!"
"@Tyrant, I know you can see this. If you don’t do something, we’ll all be next tomorrow!"
"Brother Tyrant, if you can teach those bastards from the Judgment Alliance a lesson at G-7, I’ll pay out of my own pocket to spam the World Channel with megaphone announcements for three days and three nights!"
"Agreed!"
One message after another was filled with @Tyrant.
Seeing all this, John couldn’t help but let out a cold snort.
"Desperate dogs really do bite."
This was clearly a disease ingrained in the very nature of these alliances, and the Judgment Alliance was particularly notorious for it.
Monopolizing resources and forcibly taking whatever they wanted... It seemed that these habits would never change, no matter the circumstances.
In the past, they had at least bothered to put on a show of restraint. Now, they didn’t even care about appearances anymore.
John shook his head.
"These people really have no bottom line."
He raised his head and looked toward the direction of the Judgment Alliance’s headquarters.
"Still, that’s not necessarily a bad thing."
John closed the World Channel, his eyes now completely calm.
"After this little stunt, I won’t be the only one hoping to see the Judgment Alliance get what’s coming to them at G-7 tomorrow."
...
At the same time, at the Judgment Alliance headquarters.
Augustus sat in the main seat while players below him reported the results of tonight’s operation one after another.
"My Lord."
"Tonight’s surprise attacks were extremely successful."
"We raided a total of forty-seven territories belonging to small and mid-sized Lords."
"The estimated spoils are..."
The reporting player swallowed nervously.
"Approximately one million of each basic resource."
"More than 1.5 million gold coins."
Only after hearing this did Augustus’s expression improve slightly.
He stood up and walked toward the enormous Six-Star Altar behind his territory.
Inside the altar, clusters of flames burned quietly.
These were the Six-Star Fire Elementalists he had been training nonstop over the past two days.
One. Two. Ten. Twenty...
There were now more than a hundred of them.
Every single one had over 1,000 HP and more than 800 attack power.
"With this amount of resources..."
Augustus spoke in a low voice, unable to conceal the confidence in his tone.
"Tomorrow..."
"The first player on the entire server to obtain an SSS-Rank Hero..."
"Will undoubtedly be me!"
...
In the blink of an eye, the sixth day arrived.
The atmosphere around the dining table was as lively as ever.
John sat at the head of the table, cutting into the pan-seared meat on his plate while listening to the others bicker.
"Hey, old mage."
Bladeborne stuffed a piece of sausage into his mouth and complained somewhat incoherently.
"How come you’ve been following the Lord for so long, yet you’re still leveling up so slowly?"
Raistlin didn’t even raise his eyelids.
"Wake up. You still haven’t caught up with me. What gives you the right to say that?"
Slap!
Bladeborne slammed his hand against the table.
"Believe it or not, even if my level is lower, I can still beat you to death!"
"Come on, then."
"Like I’m afraid of you!"
On the other side of the table, Ophelia elegantly tore off a piece of roast meat, her gaze unconsciously drifting toward Sylvie.
Sylvie was wearing a light green dress today, smiling as she poured more juice into John’s glass.
Their eyes met briefly across the table.
Then, almost naturally, both looked away.
John found the whole scene rather amusing and didn’t bother stopping them.
After finishing the last sip of his soup, he gently tapped his finger against the glass.
Clink.
The bickering in the dining hall stopped instantly.
Everyone turned their attention toward him.
Only then did John slowly raise his head, his expression more serious than anyone had seen before.
"Today, we’re embarking on a major expedition. In fact, this will be the largest military operation we’ve undertaken so far."
The table immediately fell silent.
John raised his hand, projecting a large map above the dining table.
His finger landed on a location at the southernmost edge of the map, glowing with a golden light.
"This is the Hero’s Tomb that the system announced two days ago. Inside, there’s an SSS-Rank Hero."
He glanced at everyone.
"But we’re not the only ones targeting it. Based on the information I’ve gathered, we’ll be facing a large number of enemies today. There could be hundreds, perhaps even thousands, representing various factions."
The atmosphere in the dining hall grew noticeably heavier.
John lightly tapped his finger against the map.
"I’ve already worked out a preliminary plan. From this moment onward, all outside exploration activities are suspended."
"Raistlin, Ophelia. The three of us will lead the main force to compete for the Hero’s Tomb."
As he spoke, his gaze shifted toward Sylvie and Bladeborne.
"You two will stay behind and defend the territory. I’ve already revealed our territory’s location on the World Channel. I’m worried that someone might try something while our main force is away."
"I’ll leave you with more than enough troops. If anything happens, notify me immediately. I’ll use the portal scroll to return."
John looked at them seriously.
"I have complete confidence in both of you. But remember, if something unexpected happens and you can’t win..."
He paused briefly.
"Run first. Your lives are the most important thing. As long as we survive, we can always take back everything we’ve lost."
Sylvie and Bladeborne exchanged a glance before both nodding.
"Understood."
Only then did John stand up and announce:
"All right. Begin preparations immediately."
...
The preparations for battle were complicated, but everything proceeded with remarkable efficiency.
The first place John visited was the Twilight Tavern.
He once again sent his highest-level Dragon Knights inside.
[Twilight Tavern (Current Level: Lv1)]
[Units Stationed Today: Undead Dragon Knight ×200.]
[After the tavern closes, all units inside will receive a fixed level increase.]
Given the current circumstances, this batch of units would gain another five levels before they departed.
After leaving the tavern, John headed straight for the barracks.
"Frost Mage, recruit 1,800."
"Fire Mage, recruit 1,500."
"Swordsman, recruit 1,500."
[Gold Coins deducted: ...]
[10,000× Acceleration activated...]
One row after another of newly recruited units emerged from the barracks in an orderly formation, purple light flashing around their bodies.
John quickly calculated the number of troops at his disposal.
Putting everything else aside, he now had 2,000 of each of his Six-Star unit types.
After thinking for just a moment, John made his decision.
"Dragon Knights, Sharpshooters, Corpse Exploders... Leave 1,000 of each behind."
"Everyone else, follow me."
Seeing the enormous force remaining behind to defend the territory, Sylvie and Bladeborne both felt considerably more reassured.
Once everything was ready, John performed one final check of his backpack.
Hero Recruitment Scroll. Check.
Universal Portal Scroll. Check.
Blade of the Black Death. Check.
Cloak of Concealment was already equipped.
Meanwhile, Ophelia had transformed into her purple dragon form and was patiently waiting in the castle plaza.
Raistlin stood beside the dragon’s belly, staff in hand.
John walked over and climbed onto her back.
"We’re leaving. Keep an eye on the territory."
Sylvie stood in the plaza and nodded vigorously.
John said nothing more. He simply patted Ophelia.
"Ophelia, destination: G-7. Full speed ahead!"
"ROOOAAAR—!!"
