Chapter 52: Epic Building Acquired! Twilight Tavern Grants 5 Levels Every Day!

"Most of this stuff is useless, but..."

John narrowed his eyes.

"There’s no denying that the resources are substantial."

This was at least ten times more profitable than painstakingly farming dungeons, leading his units around to gather resources, and grinding monsters one by one.

No wonder those alliances loved raiding other players’ territories.

It was practically a money-printing business with zero investment.

He continued scrolling through the loot notifications.

[Obtained: Advanced Building Blueprint — Crossbow Tower ×1.]

"Oh?"

John raised an eyebrow.

The Crossbow Tower.

Hadn’t those things actually been somewhat useful during the siege?

He looked up.

Unfortunately, the towers had already been destroyed by his own troops. Only a few remnants of their structures remained scattered among the buildings throughout the territory.

John thought back to the battle.

Those towers had indeed inflicted considerable damage on his units.

Still, he wasn’t entirely sure how many casualties they had caused. There had been so many units on the battlefield that whenever one died, he had simply clicked the resurrection button without giving it much thought.

He couldn’t say for certain how many had fallen to the Crossbow Towers.

Even so, they were excellent defensive structures.

Once he finished building the walls around his main castle, he could line them with Crossbow Towers to make his territory much harder to attack.

John stored the blueprint in his inventory.

It was certainly useful, but the real prize was still to come.

[Obtained: Epic Building Blueprint — Twilight Tavern ×1!]

"It was in here all along."

John’s heart stirred. He immediately took the blueprint into his hands.

It was a parchment that shimmered with a faint golden glow.

The cover depicted a cozy little tavern bathed in warm light, with a flickering orange lantern hanging beside the entrance.

[Twilight Tavern (Epic — Growth-Type Building)]

[Current Level: Lv1.]

[Building Capacity: Can accommodate up to 200 units for permanent training simultaneously.]

[Special Effect: After the tavern closes each day, all units inside gain 5 levels.]

[Growth Description: This building can gradually advance to higher tiers through the use of building materials and rare items.]

John stared at the interface, momentarily holding his breath.

He had heard about this building in his previous life.

Rumor had it that once it reached the Divine Tier, it could increase the levels of 1,000 soldiers by twenty levels every single day!

Without any restrictions whatsoever.

On Godfall Continent, the amount of experience required to level up units increased dramatically as they progressed. Sometimes, even an entire day of fighting monsters barely resulted in any meaningful level gains.

But with this building, he could simply leave his units inside. No matter how much experience they needed, the tavern would grant them a fixed number of levels.

And on top of that, he possessed the 10,000× Acceleration talent.

In other words, the moment the tavern’s daily cooldown reset, he could immediately accelerate the entire process and raise his units’ levels again.

"Even if it can only grant five levels a day for now..."

John carefully stored the blueprint away.

"Once I develop it properly, this thing will be incredibly powerful. It’ll definitely be one of my top-priority buildings from now on."

He continued scrolling through the loot.

[Enemy Lords Destroyed: ×16.]

[Obtained: War Medal ×16.]

Every piece of Legion Equipment required War Medals for upgrades.

He hadn’t had a single one before, but now he had sixteen.

Without hesitation, John inserted all sixteen medals into the Legion Equipment upgrade slots.

[Consumed War Medal ×3. Legion Equipment — Whisper of Decay upgraded to +3!]

[Consumed War Medal ×3. Legion Equipment — Blood God’s Chosen Set upgraded to +3!]

[Consumed War Medal ×3. Legion Equipment — Fatal Pocket Watch upgraded to +3!]

[...]

A series of golden flashes lit up the interface.

John nodded in satisfaction.

Afterward, he thought for a moment and opened the World Channel. Spending a few gold coins, he broadcast a server-wide announcement.

[World Channel]

[Tyrant: The Judgment Alliance’s Third Division has been completely wiped out for invading my territory without authorization. My territory ID is Dark-0914. If you have a problem with that, come and find me yourself.]

The message appeared three times in succession.

The red announcement banner scrolled across the World Channel for more than ten seconds before gradually disappearing.

Having finished, John closed the channel and clapped his hands.

"Let’s go."

"Time to tackle the Class Advancement Trial."

...

The group departed from the ruins of the Judgment Alliance’s Third Division in grand fashion.

Riding on Ophelia’s back, John casually opened the unit interface to check their levels.

[Unit: Undead Dragon Knight] [Level: Lv18]

[Unit: Undead Frost Mage] [Level: Lv17]

[Unit: Undead Dark Knight] [Level: Lv17]

[Unit: Undead Fire Mage] [Level: Lv16]

[Hero: Ophelia] [Level: Lv20]

[Hero: Raistlin] [Level: Lv18]

[Hero: Bladeborne] [Level: Lv16]

Everyone had leveled up except Sylvie.

But she had only just been summoned. He could take her out to grind levels later.

After checking the interfaces, John couldn’t resist opening the World Channel again.

The screen was filled with messages.

"Holy crap! We actually caught a glimpse of a top player! What does that announcement mean?"

"There’s some serious drama going on. Anyone know the details?"

"Wait! I checked, and it looks like the Judgment Alliance’s Third Division has been destroyed! Does that mean the Judgment Alliance attacked his territory, and he fought back?"

"Holy shit, that’s insane! One guy took on an entire alliance division!"

"Where are the Judgment Alliance players? Come out and say something!"

The ordinary players were having a field day discussing the incident.

The Judgment Alliance, on the other hand, remained eerily silent.

John wasn’t surprised in the slightest.

After all, they were evil, not stupid.

They might not care all that much about a small division, but they certainly wouldn’t let such a humiliating defeat go unanswered.

Those people were stingier and more vindictive than anyone.

Still, John had no regrets. Given the same choice, he would do it all over again.

A confrontation between him and the Judgment Alliance was inevitable.

It was only a matter of time.

Rather than letting them search the entire world for him while he wasted time constantly worrying about when they might attack, disrupting his development in the process, it was better to reveal his territory’s location himself and let them come to him.

Then, all he would have to do was activate the War Compass, lock onto their coordinates, and open a portal straight to their doorstep.

He could wipe them all out in one fell swoop.

John closed the interface, rested against Ophelia’s neck, and let the high-altitude wind rush past his ears.

"For now, I’ll leave them alone."

...

Newbie Continent — Judgment Alliance Headquarters.

Inside the council chamber.

Raine Augustus sat in the seat of honor at the head of the table.

Around him sat the alliance’s top executives from the Newbie Continent. Not a single one dared to breathe too loudly.

An eerie silence hung over the entire chamber.

Before entering Godfall Continent, Augustus had been nothing more than an ordinary member of his family.

But after entering Godfall Continent and awakening an SSS-rank talent, he had become the heir apparent to the Raine family.

After all, SSS-rank talent holders were extraordinarily rare, and Augustus’s talent was particularly terrifying.

[Talent: Star-Rank Coronation (SSS)]

[Effect: Once per day, select one unit with a star rank between one and four stars. The unit’s star rank is randomly increased by one or two stars.]

Worldwide, there were no more than six alliances or financial conglomerates on the scale of the Judgment Alliance.

Yet even if they gathered every member of the younger generation from all six organizations, not a single person possessed the talent or strength to consistently surpass Augustus.

After all, every time a new Newbie Continent opened, one individual was selected from among millions upon millions of players to become the undisputed strongest.

That individual would lead their alliance to even greater heights.

And in this generation, there was no need for debate.

Everyone agreed that the title belonged to him.
