Chapter 196: Telghat Battlesuit
Chapter 196: Telghat Battlesuit
“Someone’s being brave, huh?” NelTara skipped towards Torq and comfortably took a seat beside him.
“There,” She patted her thighs once, as if shooing away the dust on her clothes and then naturally turned around to face Torq, “Are you not afraid your cheeks will be used by the enemies to mop the entire grounds?”
“I’m strong, I’ll tell you that.” Torq grumbled.
“Right,” NelTara nodded, “And I’m the Celestial Boar.”
“Every Pranic Beast at Nusantara has you outclassed.” Torq commented snarkily, “Don’t come crying to me later, alright?”
“If I want to cry, it’ll be in the arms of someone stronger than me, obviously.” NelTara expressed pity as she patted Torq on the shoulder and shook her head, “Unfortunately, even though your face is my type, your height and strength are not.”
“Don’t be shy,” Torq was getting irritated, but had zero reasons to take a step back. He inched his chest forward and patted it once, “You don’t have to put on a front before me. Now, now, you are safe with me.”
“Is this guy bothering you, NelTara?” Right as Torq was feeling a tad smug upon seeing NelTara’s slightly surprised look, a hissing voice interrupted him.
With a frown, Torq eyed the direction of the voice to see a man reaching a whopping height of 210 centimetres, with bulky arms as if he had been living in the gym since birth. With hair shaped like a lion’s mane around the head, and then braided past until the end at the knees, was this hulk of a man.
With an irritated glint in his eyes, he glared at Torq and then sported his kindest voice to face NelTara, “Give me a second, and I’ll get rid of him.”
“Who the fuck are you…” NelTara instinctively replied, but her voice was drowned by two words expressed curtly, blasting forth with killing intent.
“Sit! Down!” A faint aurora appeared overhead Torq as his eyes seethed in anger, causing the other party to feel like he had suddenly been trapped within a theatre, with the crowd booing at him.
’This…fucker!’ The bulky man was intimidated for a second before he riled up his presence, actually managing to rival Torq’s, “What will you do if I don’t?”
Suddenly, he felt his surroundings dimming for a moment, highlighting Torq’s presence alone. In that state, he noticed Torq’s presence emitting out of his body like a series of candle flames, which strangely dimmed down and got concentrated upon his right hand, which he raised up, as if about to make a hacking motion.
The entirety of the presence unleashed by the other party got concentrated into the bladed edge of his hand, which began to generate a mild aurora.
“Enough!” There was a loud clap from the man standing at the entrance. His clap was casual, but it dissipated Torq’s aurora and also suppressed the presence unleashed by the bulky man.
Behind him, two more Wean Clansmen appeared, the last of the Potential Squad’s members. Once they had entered, the man revealed a tinge of his presence, revealing that he was at the 10-Life Stage.
He then introduced himself once everyone had returned to their seats, “I am FyorBuntara, the designated leader of the Potential Squad.”
The Potential Squad consisted of a total of 120 people, all of whom were considered as geniuses of the Wean Clan and had also contributed significantly to the Clan. Hence, they were selected to be a part of the expedition.
Each one of them had received tremendous support from their respective families, which was how they had managed to reach this place.
Of course, Torq’s family originally intended for him to join the expedition, for he would learn a lot by following the Celestial Boar. However, both MyuraBuntara and her father opposed vehemently.
Hence, most of the family members shifted their support to another Spectral Boar Clansman, who took his seat slightly nearby Torq. It was the Spectral Boar Clansman with accomplishments second only to Torq, his rival of sorts, VaraBuntara.
A glance from Torq, and VaraBuntara shifted his gaze, followed by a mild snort.
“I will now give you a general gist of the situation.” FyorBuntara observed the mild friction between the squad members, but didn’t comment on it and instead focused on the task at hand, “The goal of the Potential Squad is to accompany the expedition from a safer distance and hunt our wounded enemies to gain experience.”
“In preparation for it, we’ll be giving you some equipment.” As FyorBuntara snapped his finger, a team of Wean Clansmen walked inside, with a bunch of suitcases. Each Potential Squad member was given two suitcases, after which, the explanation continued.
“You have two sets of equipment, which is all you’ll be getting for the duration of the expedition. The second set is a backup, so treat them with care.” FyorBuntara then asked the squad members once the Wean Clansmen in charge of distributing the suitcases left, “Open the suitcases.”
Torq observed the two suitcases given to him, and gasped at its size. Each suitcase was 180 centimetres long, 120 centimetres wide, and spanned a thickness of 60 centimeters. There were two such suitcases.
Physically speaking, even though he had the strength to carry them, the size of his physique made it awkward for him to carry the suitcases and walk comfortably. Thankfully, a thick stripe of Vara had been embedded in the suitcases, serving as a Spirit Weapon.
So, he could carry the suitcases using psychokinesis.
Under FyorBuntara’s orders, Torq opened his suitcase and noticed a total of five main pieces of equipment, and ten miscellaneous pieces of equipment.
A glance at them, and Torq was surprised, ’They all can be treated as a Spirit Weapon.’
All the pieces of equipment had been treated with Vara, allowing the user to wield them. However, majority of the equipment wasn’t made of Vara at all. Only a small piece embedded in them, to serve as a bridge between the equipment and the user’s Prana, was made of Vara.
’Impressive technology!’ Thinking as such, he noticed the first piece of equipment, which FyorBuntara introduced as the ’Telghat Battlesuit.’
“We have created it specifically for each of you.” FyorBuntara explained, “Seep your Prana into it and you’ll see.”
Torq seeped a unit of his Prana into the yarn of wool, and watched it react like a hungry swarm of worms and crawl upon his skin to instantly cover his body. And then, it knitted itself, all in the span of a single second, to turn into a piece of tough, woolen armour.
Torq noticed even his eyes were covered by the armour. However, even though it was tightly packed over him, he could still see clearly. That wasn’t all. He was still able to breathe through the suit, and even felt air touch his skin, as if he were naked. ’It’s not stuffy at all. And somehow, my senses aren’t impeded within this.’
“We took great measures to treat these suits, so that they can withstand powerful presences of the opponents, provide you with defensive means on the level of a Silver Grade Pranic Beast, have the properly of self-repair, and best of all, they allow you to withstand the environment of the Sandy-Grey Void better.” FyorBuntara listed the details as he watched the squad members move around and test the functions of the Telghat Battlesuit.
“This battlesuit is to help you conserve your Prana as best as possible.” FyorBuntara, “All of our enemies will be Expert Gold Grade Pranic Beasts. So, your management of your Prana consumption will dictate your life or death in the expedition.”
FyorBuntara then began to address them about another piece of equipment.
