Chapter 177: Kill GaraBuntara
Chapter 177: Kill GaraBuntara
Knock! Knock!
Two months left for the expedition into Nusantara Continent!
“Yes?” Torq opened the door to his house and noticed a burly, short-statured man standing at the entrance.
“Ancestor’s grace has arrived.” The burly man uttered and began to walk away, “Follow me to claim it.”
“Yes,” Torq’s eyes lit up in response as he closed the door behind him and followed the burly man, ’Finally!’
From Binkn City, they took a railway to their destination, which was situated 500 kilometres away, to the farthest reaches of the Wean Clan’s influence.
For shorter distances, Wean Clansmen used the pod, which was simpler, and catered to the travel of individuals or small groups. Larger groups had to use the railway, especially for travelling significant distances.
The tunnel through which the railway moved through was similar to the tunnel network used by the pods. Both were created using the same power.
Intermediate Iron Grade Pranic Beast–Shifting Ant!
It was one of the three Pranic Beast races native to the Guna Caves, alongside the Bludders and Ewworms. Shifting Ants were one of the principal reasons behind the infinite expansion of the Guna Caves, a region that used to be very small many eras ago.
But now, it had already become larger than the Dralh Sea and was still continuing to expand. Shifting Ants were weak individually. However, they were able to consume the damn moss that grows exclusively in the Guna Caves and break down the toxins within it into a digestible form.
Only the Shifting Ants had the biology to consume this damp moss. Typically, Ewworms resided in the rectums of Shifting Ants, consuming the harmful byproducts produced by the Shifting Ants. They were then hunted by the Bludders.
This was the relationship shared between the three races, a result of which the region they called their home continued to expand. And the reason this region continued to remain an exclusive home to these three races was one.
Primary Nature–Drifting Tunnel!
A Shifting Ant consumes the soil, mixes it with its saliva, and spits it out to form a hard paste. Slowly, it tunnels through the earth and uses this hard past to form the tunnel walls that don;t collapse upon the surrounding earth’s weight.
When this hard paste solidifies, it generates an exclusive gravitational field within it, unaffected by the ambient gravity. Within this tunnel, the ambient gravity vanishes, instead replaced with the Shifting Ant’s field of gravity.
Anyone who enters this tunnel will continue to fall through it, for however long it extends. A Shifting Ant could lay down the gravity field in any direction of its choice within the tunnel.
A victim could be falling through a tunnel, which from an external perspective, could just be a tunnel moving horizontally under the surface. That wasn’t all, multiple tunnels intersected with each other, creating a winding maze.
The falling victim could, due to the mild shifting in gravity fields, fall into other tunnels, one after another, until he was perpetually falling through the winding tunnels deep in the Guna Caves, until they just burn up from friction alone.
The fumes generated by this get absorbed by the damp moss growing in the tunnels. And typically, the target is unable to resist, for the moment they enter the Guna Caves, they’re shredded to bits by the Bludders.
Their shredded body parts are the ones burning up through friction as they fall down the tunnels.
The Wean Clan, upon discovering the function of Drifting Tunnel, created large nests for Shifting Ants, to harness a large number of Drifting Tunnel Natures, using which they created the travel system used by both the Wean Clan and the Varahan Empire.
The pods merely fall through the tunnels, under action by gravity. And the tunnels are constructed as such the field of gravity acting within gets weaker the farther down the tunnel the pod moves, until it vanishes towards the destination, prompting the pod to stop.
Parallel fields of gravity are set up in the station to serve as brakes for the pods.
The railway line, on the other hand, has a very weak field of gravity, established with a mild incline to give the railway a downward slope.
This downward slope is pretty weak, so the railway doesn’t accelerate beyond control. The drivers in the railway are also equipped with multiple Drifting Tunnel Natures, to maintain the railway’s speed where necessary.
Swoosh!
The railway arrived at a stop after eight hours of journey. Torq alighted alongside the burly man, excitedly following the latter to a large warehouse.
“We’re here,” The burly man said and opened the door to the warehouse, only to be met with a series of attacks.
There were four attackers in total, all at the Body Stage, Free Humans from the Varahan Empire. One of them pointed his palm towards Torq and roared, “DIE!”
Primary Nature–Bone-Melting Artillery!
The artillery strike carpeted his immediate vicinity with attacks, raising dust and smoke amidst spurting geysers of blood.
“Watch out!” The burly man shouted once and assumed his Empyrean Boar transformation to serve as a shield, only to be drowned by the attacks.
“Get lost!” Another Free Human rushed to the burly man’s side and leapt once.
Nature–Shredded Lunge!
Nature–Eddy Blade!
As he jumped using Shredded Lunge, an arced blade of Prana extended out of his arm and cut into the Empyrean Boar’s neck. He had timed it alongside his comrade, who had mimicked the same actions from the opposite side.
As an Eddy Blade cut into the neck from opposite sides, the Empyrean Boar hurriedly switched his Life Stage stack, to prevent getting his head cut off and losing one of his lives. But at the moment, an impact slammed from the front, powerful enough to dent his skull. ’Dammit!’
“It will take time to deal with him.” A Free Human shouted, “Focus on the target. No matter what, today,”
“GaraBuntara must be killed!”
Nature–Shredded Lunge!
Nature–Eddy Blade!
Nature–Bone-Melting Artillery!
The three natures created a frightening combo. Bone-Melting Artillery shaved through all manners of defence and couldn’t be evaded due to its area of effect. It forced the target to prioritise defence against the attack.
Shredded Lunge created the means to quickly move to various advantageous positions during a fight. And the wind blades resulting from the end of each jump served as another mode of attack.
Finally, there was the Eddy Blade, a concentrated close-ranged attack capable of breaching through the defences of even Gold Grade Pranic Beasts.
Since they had started with a sneak attack, they succeeded shortly after. One of the Free Humans who had taken the initiative with the artillery strike waved his hand once, dispersing the dust cloud to stare at the corpse of the Spectral Boar before him, lacking a head, “Heh!”
“Finally!” He roared, “He’s dead!”
“GaraBuntara is dead!”
