Chapter 149: Outcome Of The Major Disaster

Chapter 149: Outcome Of The Major Disaster

Fumes kept rising from the blood sphere as the people within desperately held on for dear life. Hours spanned in such a fashion, as the Bolts of Transcendence stopped striking after a while, because the conclusion had been reached.

NO!

A disappointed shout rang from Virala and boomed across the region, for he had failed to Transcend. The success rate for reaching the Transcendence Stage was the highest for Humans with Iron Grade strength, being about one in hundred on average.

The higher the Stages, the lower this success rate got, to the extent it was almost impossible for a Mystic Grade existence to reach the Transcendence Stage. After reaching a level where they could summon a Bolt of Transcendence, such existences would pretty much spend the rest of their lifespans in preparation to increase their chances as much as possible.

Even if they couldn’t Transcend, they would at least wish to leave behind a Treasure, which had marginally better chances. In Virala’s case however, his preparations were lacking.

And even after using 21 Quills to supplement himself, all he did was summon more Bolts of Transcendence than what he could have handled, which in turn spelled his failure.

Followed by a mournful shout, Virala ended up getting vaporised, after turning the Dralh Sea into a land of death. As for the 21 Quills? They were erased by the Bolts of Transcendence using their property for destruction.

The blood sphere kept burning nonstop, as the ambient heat in the region was enough to vaporise the people within. The blood sphere was tanking all the heat and shielded the people within it.

There was no sense of relief within the blood sphere, however, as the Cooter Clansmen began to turn into Stitched Humans one after another, straining the rest.

“I…” At some point in time, Bnapbnap lost the strength to resist, finding blood leak out of his orifices as his Spirit Container had shattered from the stress. There were barely a couple dozen units of Prana worth in his Spirit Container, which was working overtime to heal him. ’I don’t know what you were thinking, but you shouldn’t have died so soon, Raurau.’

In the mist created by the Cooter Clansmen, there were reports that Eureur had suddenly appeared on the battlefield. Bnapbnap couldn’t verify the information, as he was busy fighting Raefrag.

Their side was winning until Yioribu became compromised. Even after that, Bnapbnap held his own. However, Yoribu fought Virala by extending their battlefield to encompass the Cooter Clansmen inside.

The sheer shockwaves from their clash ended up killing more Cooter Clansmen than everything from before. And a Depraved Human picked off the rest, which is how four Settlement Leaders were killed.

Thud!

Brunta Brimgan collapsed into a pool of vaporising blood on the floor, unable to react as his skin scalded from the seeping heat. And slowly, his body caught on to fire.

“Sirs…please…save…” A Mystic Human begged Bnapbnap as he collapsed, unable to maintain his transformation anymore as the influence seeped into him by the Depraved Human finally broke through his resistance.

Stabbing through his back was a Cooter Clansman who had recently turned into a Stitched Human. He was the reason the Mystic Human died. And following suit were the rest of the Mystic Humans, dying helplessly.

The blood sphere collapsed as Bnapbnap was the sole survivor, not by chance. He lifted his head, suddenly feeling the surroundings cool down. Spontaneously in response, tears streamed down his eyes, for his Deity stood before him, “Is this…a dream?”

“I’m sorry to have come so late.” It was Nitral, the 52nd Empyrean Snapper. All he did was stand, but the deathly heat from the surroundings failed to breach past the region under his reign.

“I rushed here the moment I sensed something was amiss,” With a sullen tone, Nirtral explained, “I’m truly sorry…”

Suddenly, there was a crack in the Centinger’s body, for now that there was no one restricting it anymore, it began to correct itself little by little.

“My Deity,” Bnapbnap eyed the Centinger tensely, “Please ensure to keep it bound…”

“Don’t worry,” Nirtral chuckled casually and grunted once, “I can handle a mere Centinger.”

“No, I don’t mean…” Bnapbnap paused in shock, watching the Centinger’s body pop like a water balloon, sprawling blood and body matter everywhere.

None of them reached Bnapbnap, for Nirtral protected him. However, the Centinger wasn’t what worried Bnapbnap. Without hesitation, he gathered whatever meagre strength he could amass, got up, and slightly pushed Nirtral to the side, “LOOK OUT!”

He noticed the Quill revealing itself from within the explosion of Centinger blood and flesh, aiming towards Nirtral. ’Not my Deity!’

It was better he became a victim, for the Cooter Clan’s strength was directly dependent on their Spirit Pool. So, even if his strength was elevated to the 10-Life Stage, he wouldn’t be as powerful as a Cooter Clan Chief who had built his body to the 10-Life Stage.

After all, his Lightning Plasma Spirit Pool won’t expand itself to fill up his newly gained bodies, ’I’ll be weak enough to be sealed by my Deity. The Clan can then research upon me to figure out the Quill’s secrets!’

“Be safe…My Deity…!” He uttered upon pushing Nirtral to the side and watched the Quill fly towards him, about to make contact. In his final moments, Bnapbnap accepted the demise of his self. And then, nothing happened.

“What…what is…what the heck is happening?” His eyes shot open in shock, noticing the Quill hover before his face. As for the pillar of light it was releasing, they had curved around to form a 30-centimetre-wide sphere around the Quill.

As a Settlement Leader, he had witnessed plenty and knew exactly who could bend even a pillar of light. In despair, he turned around to stare at Nirtral, “My…Deity?”

“Since when?” He asked, for the Quill was under the other party’s control.

“Not long ago,” Nirtral smiled and moved the sphere holding the Quill into Bnapbnap, “Runthral was never the entrypoint to the Cooter Clan’s demise. He was merely convenient to fool Torq.”

“If the plan succeeded, we would have used him to take down the Cooter Clan.” Nirtral said and plunged the Quill into Bnapbnap, “Since that failed, I want you to serve as the entrypoint.”

“I will remain in the background and ensure an entrypoint always exists.” He grinned and retreated into the ground, “This way, Torq will always be focusing on you entrypoints in future timelines.”

And now, Bnapbnap fell under the Quill’s influence. To prevent the truth from leaking out, he didn’t recover his strength and instead only recovered his body’s injuries.

As the blood and corpses around him vaporised, he began to walk through the Dralh Sea’s heat, regenerating fast enough to overcome the damage. There were no eyewitnesses left behind, so no one will know the truth.

The ’Truth’ others will know was of him being the sole survivor of this Major Disaster. Eventually, he will return to the Cooter Clan, ’Next, is to infect all the Empyrean Snappers with the Quills, until eventually, we obtain control over Wally.’

’With him on our side, we will have all the tools necessary to kill the Royal Zinger!’ He grinned and picked up his pace.
