Chapter 128: Seed Of Tragedy (Part 4)
“Settlement…leader?” Raurau gasped in shock, “No! No, no! It can’t be! NO!”
“It’s only one head. With his cultivation, there are nine more heads to be harvested.” The Bhirully announced calmly, “Seeing your reaction, I think it’s for my best to target your Settlement Leader first. And then, every strong existence of your Cooter Clan, down to their weakest.”
“I’ll…never do it!” Raurau roared in hatred, “Do your worst!”
“It’s not efficient, but if it can motivate you to do my bidding…” The Bhirully let out a mild sigh as its golden claw turned into a flash and disappeared into the mist. Five seconds later, it returned with a Cooter Clansman.
Each protruding edge in the claw plunged forth, in an action no different from a human typing on a keyboard. But here, this caused the pointed tips of the claw to puncture through the Cooter Clansman, poking holes repeatedly through his body.
In three seconds, the Cooter Clansman was riddled with enough holes to become a corpse. His screams resounded with the utmost aloud shrill in pain. The golden claw swerved to the side and grabbed the Cooter Clansman who sneakily intended to flee upon manifesting his Life Stage stack that had lost one life.
The same action, and three seconds later, the second body died too. The Cooter Clanman wanted to escape, and hence manifested at the farthest spot possible in the Spirit Weapon range of his corpse.
This was a method available to everyone in the Life Stage, wherein after a body dies, they could appear anywhere they wanted within the corpse’s Spirit Weapon range of 180 metres. It gave them a chance to avoid instant death for the rest of their stack.
But in this case, the golden claw was just too fast that the moment the Cooter Clansman appeared, it would grab him before his body could even begin its free fall.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Punctured to his death amidst painful screams, the Cooter Clansman appeared once again, extremely terrified, having dropped to the 2-Life Stage. “N-No!”
The claw poked holes into his body again, taking another of his lives. Now, he had fallen to the 1-Life Stage, which was also called the Body Stage, since there was just one body remaining, which meant he was at his last life.
For a moment, the Cooter Clasman eyed Raurau and shouted before he was riddled with holes the last time, “Don’t give up!”
“You know,” The Bhirully spoke as the claw returned with another Cooter Clansman and began to similarly poke into him nonstop, while the target kept dropping through the Life Stage, “It is convenient that your talents to become a Chief were accepted by the Cooter Clan.”
“And it is to my extreme convenience that someone that valuable has invented the means to bring my dreams to fruition.” The Bhirully spoke as another Cooter Clansman with the 5-Life Stage cultivation met his end. “I was waiting for someone like you all along.”
“You…!” With reddened eyes that oozed blood tears, Raurau cursed the Bhirully in realisation, “How long…how long have you been waiting for a chance?”
“Somewhere around four centuries, not too long I must say.” The Bhirully uttered, “I’ve stalked the existing Chief from when he was a student. His talents are stellar, but I judged he couldn’t give me what I wanted.”
“But you can,” The Bhirully flashed a mild grin, “And until you give me what I’ve asked for, I’ll keep killing your people, until my lifespan ends.
It alternated its chin’s pointed end between itself and Raurau, “We can keep doing this for another seven centuries.”
“The choice is yours,” It commented, “Either I succeed and challenge your Deities and be put to rest eventually, or I decimate every Cooter Clansman except the Snappers.”
Even as it spoke, it didn’t let up, as every few seconds, the golden claw captured a Cooter Clansman and rapidly killed him through the Life Stages, dropping his corpses one after another.
Like a squirrel munching on its nuts, the Cooter Clansmen were ground through by the golden claw.
“It has been a minute, so…” The Bhirully said as the golden claw returned with another head, “This is the second head of your Settlement Leader.”
“H-How are you doing this?” Raurau roared in horror and stared at the golden claw in terror, “What the heck is that?”
“If you want, I can take my time in giving you an explanation.” The Bhirully commended casually and pointed at the wall of mist trailing behind exactly at a distance of 1.79 kilometres, “However, until you accept to do what I want, the killings will continue.”
“I’ll do it! FUCK!” Raurau tried to resist for a couple more minutes, but seeing four severed heads of his Settlement Leader hanging before him was enough to slam his resistance into acceptance, “I’ll DO IT!”
“Good!” The Bhirully chuckled, “Then let’s go somewhere more peaceful.”
Secondary Nature–Adrenaline Rush!
It accelerated its pace and steadily moved away from the wall of mist that was relentlessly chasing after them. Two kilometres, three, four, every few dozen seconds, the distance increased by a kilometre.
The Cooter Clansmen giving chase were literally trying their best to give chase, only to fail futilely as the Bhirully was faster and could run without rest.
“We’re here.” The Bhirully commented after three days as it arrived within a narrow canyon with a dead end.
The walls of the canyon reached a height of six kilometres, extremely steep, with muddy walls that made it extremely easy to lose one’s grip and plummet to their deaths. At the cliff, intense winds blew that practically blanketed the region, serving as a lid that trapped everyone within.
The canyon spanned a breadth of 200 metres and stretched a length of one kilometre. One side was a dead end, with the canyon walls. The other side, which was the entrance, led into a ginormous river that was no different from the sea in terms of size
It was the Red-Draft River, a water body said to traverse a quarter of Sumatra Continent.
The average depth of the Red-Draft River was around 10 kilometres, with the water currents casually reaching as low as 80 kilometres an hour during peaceful moments. The dangerous currents were capable of shredding terrestrial Pranic Beasts to shreds.
“Every day, I’ll provide you with a Pelting Monkey for consumption.” The Bhirully said and threw a Pelting Monkey towards Raurau, “It’s up to you how you intend to use it.”
“If you’re capable, figure out a way to grow stronger, as long as you finish my task, that is.” The Bhirully concluded.
“I…will kill you.” Raurau gritted his teeth and expressed with bloodshot eyes, “One day, I will become powerful enough to destroy your very existence.”
“Mark my words!”
“Ha…haha…hahaha…MUHAHAHA!” The Bhirully burst into laughter at his words, appearing the most pleased it was until now, “Child…”
“Don’t threaten me with a good time.”
