Chapter 122: Improved Artillery

Chapter 122: Improved Artillery

As long as it had enough mass, the Narlakk could morph into any structurally stable form and even assume the physical characteristics of the morphed form.

If it were to assume the shape of a wooden chair, it could technically exhibit the same characteristics as a wooden chair in terms of strength, texture, weight, etc.

Of course, it would first expel pollen in this case to match its weight with the chair. To the level of physical transformations, a Narlakk was perfect. It couldn’t match all the chemical characteristics however, since at the end of the day, it was a living being that had to satisfy all the needs of a living being.

A Narlakk’s transformation also came with it a fair share of consequences. If suppose it were to assume the form of a stone chair, then it would match all the characteristics of said chair without any differences.

This also included ignoring its need to breathe. The Narlakk would persist with its transformation by first limiting its biological functions to the extreme limit, like in a deep state of cryo sleep.

With everything apart from its cores being shut down, the only way to prevent the body’s collapse was through the aid of Prana. Thanks to fully shutting down its body’s functions, a Narlakk could persist by only consuming small units of Prana in regular intervals.

This would allow it to maintain its transformation for a long duration. However, if its preparations weren’t sufficient, the Narlakk might continue maintaining the transformation, until its Prana reserves get expended.

Then, it will turn into an inanimate object.

But just like what Narlakk Tirrferryorr had done to revive Narlakk Nirrkarrlarr, as long as the Narlakk’s cores were gathered together until it gathers enough mass to condense a Spirit Container, it could be revived.

That was its greatest means for survival.

In the case of Raefrag, the reason he had two Narlakk bodies was to primarily exploit their ability to obtain the physical characteristics of other Pranic Beasts. Of course, the same could be attained just by having the respective Pranic Beast itself.

However, the characteristic most sought after here was the Narlakk’s body morphing capabilities, and also its revival capabilities thanks to its cores.

As his body morphed, Raefrag assumed the form which he was the most comfortable with, turning into a 100-metre-tall humanoid. He stopped at this level, for going any bigger only caused his Prana expenditure to increase exponentially, for it had to use psychokinesis to reinforce his body’s strength.

In material physics, the square-cubed law plays a pivotal role, which basically expresses the fact that as objects grow bigger, its material strength is unable to keep up with the mass increase.

For Raefrag, the limit was 100 metres, at which point, his body’s strength had reached the limit to the mass it could carry. This was with the aid of psychokinesis reinforcing him, ’I can grow bigger for short durations, but this size is the most efficient.’

The cells forming his body kept multiplying rapidly. His Prana was getting consumed to regenerate the cells necessary to balloon his mass. And in a matter of seconds, he had turned into a giant.

Spikes protruded on the palm of his right hand, reaching a length of four metres each. Oozing within each spike was a fluid capable of melting through substances, most effective against organic matter.

In the same fashion, spikes grew on the palm of his left hand, which were coated by a greyish lining. The effect of psychokinesis seemed inhibited in the vicinity of these spikes. Only Raefrag was an exception, since it was his power.

Now, unlike a Millinger, he didn’t have the Nature to Bone-Melting Artillery which was capable of instantly launching the spikes across large distances.

However, the artillery strike relied on psychokinesis, which Raefrag could use, since as a Depraved Human, he could treat his body as a Spirit Weapon. He could launch each spike with the same intensity as a Millinger’s artillery strike, but limited to one at a time.

It wouldn’t be an artillery strike without the spikes carpet bombing across the region at launch. Thankfully, he had a solution.

Swoosh!

His arm bulged as using psychokinesis, he gathered more and more blood within the arm while reinforcing the arm muscles to the limit, ensuring a high pressure was developed within.

“Now,” He pointed both hands towards his enemies and grinned, “Screw the lot of you!”

After the blood was compressed to the limit, it was given an outlet. And the outlet was the spikes, which were launched as projectiles once the blood gushed out with enough force to resemble a laser.

The sky glowed thanks to the luminance generated by the glowing Dralh Sea. There was also the aurora above Prata City and the lightning plasma sphere that acted as light sources in the night.

And now, all sources of light illuminated red streaks of lasers that spread across the skies, bearing to their fronts an object truly created to rend their lives.

The first batch of spikes had bone-melting properties while the second had Inhibition Dome properties, but limited to physical contact.

As they arced through the skies, the two forms of spikes intermixed, making defence against them extremely difficult.

BOOM!

Lightning arcs blasted across the region as the Settlement Leaders tried to clear out as many spikes as they could.

Swoosh!

A group of Cooter Clansmen assumed their Spirit Weapon forms, joined hands to become a water serpent and fled into the sea. Majority of the Cooter Clansmen that were quick on their feet rushed into the depths to avoid the blow.

A coated spike reached one such water serpent and casually dissipated the serpent’s body that it came into contact with. It passed through like it had met air and proceeded to head deeper into the sea.

A good number of Cooter Clansmen avoided the spikes. However, some unfortunate members couldn’t, as one of the spikes touched their Spirit Weapon form and ended up cracking it.

The first spike had the coating that inhibited psychokinesis. It removed all the defenses erected around the Cooter Clansman’s Spirit Weapon form. And following suit was the bone-melting spike, which punctured through the Spirit Weapon.

“GRAH!” A shriek in pain resounded, and then, an intact Spirit Weapon appeared nearby its shattered fragments. Its strength and presence dropped by a level, for the respective Cooter Clansman had lost a life.

’Their cultivation levels are exceedingly high.’ Raefrag thought as another volley of spikes formed in his palms, ’Seems I need to keep killing them until they drop to the Body Stage. And then, I can end their lives for good.’

“Also,” He grinned upon spotting a golden sludge gently sinking into the water. He noticed another Rutham Spirit Weapon floating on the water farther away and stared up at the sky, “You think you’re invincible up there?”

“I’ll keep destroying your Spirit Weapons until you’ve run out of Rutham to anchor yourself on the water surface.” And then, he began to move closer to the lightning plasma sphere, unable to be slowed down much by the latter’s jet stream. His eyes locked onto Bnapbnap, “Try to defend as desperately as you can.”

The spikes on his palms had finished growing as his arms reached their full bulge. He focused them onto the lightning plasma sphere, “Irrespective of your strength, you will eventually fall.”
