Linda sneered at him and said, "You seem to look down on Ryan a lot."

"No kidding. He’s embarrassed all men."

Link said without holding back.

Linda suddenly gave a seductive smile and said, "And you, pestering me like this, you’re no better than him."

"Let me tell you, Link. I’m not some green-tea bitch playing hard to get. When I say we’re done, there’s no room for negotiation."

"And right now, even if I were to choose Ryan, I’d never choose you..."

With that, Linda suddenly wrapped her arms around Ryan’s neck and, in front of everyone, closed her eyes and offered him a sweet kiss.

Her soft little tongue, sensing the man was stunned and unresponsive, teasingly licked Ryan’s lips.

In full view of everyone, a wave of uproar erupted:

"Whoa, Linda’s too bold! Even if she’s using him as a shield, why pick this simp?"

"Exactly. This simp might’ve still had his first kiss. Now it’s tainted, how’s he supposed to devote himself to Tina?"

"Link is really pitiful. How determined must Linda be to force herself to kiss that simp?"

Amid the chatter, Link’s face turned green. He shoved Ryan aside and said, "Get lost, you damn simp."

Their tongues hadn’t really gotten going, and the shove broke them apart. Link looked sour and said, "Linda, even if you wanted to put on an act, why pick this guy..."

His contempt was impossible to hide.

Linda sneered, "Link, this isn’t an act. Don’t be so full of yourself."

"Now, I’ve kissed him. Would you still kiss me?"

She pressed on aggressively, "Maybe in a couple of days we’ll sleep together. Would that finally make you give up?"

"Damn it, you fucking simp... how dare you touch my woman."

Facing the mocking stares from everyone, Link couldn’t hold back his rage anymore. He swung his fist straight at Ryan.

He was a sports major, tall and built like a bear. That punch startled everyone around.

Although Ryan had been working part-time and was muscular, he reacted in time to dodge, but his shoulder still took the hit.

"Fuck you, you damn simp!"

Link was like a madman. After missing with his punch, he kicked straight at him.

"Fuck you!"

Even a clay Buddha has its limits. Ryan’s submissiveness had only ever been for Tina. Getting hit for no reason, of course he wasn’t going to take it lying down.

He grabbed Link’s leg and threw a punch straight at his nose.

It landed with a solid smack. Link probably hadn’t expected Ryan to actually fight back. The hit hurt like hell, and blood started streaming from his nose. His head completely heated up.

[Ding... Exchange (Skill) Combat Specialization. Requires 5 attribute points.]

[Ding... Exchange failed.]

The system’s voice rang coldly in his mind. Ryan took another punch in that instant, kicked back, but immediately made a choice without hesitation.

[System, put the remaining 2 attribute points all into stamina.]

[Ding... Allocation complete. Stamina value: 10.7.]

Whether it was because of surging adrenaline or the stamina boost, he wasn’t sure.

Not only did the pain disappear, but his body also seemed to harden.

His coordination instantly maxed out. It felt like he had been reborn, with endless strength surging through him.

Not only did blocking punches become easier, even Link’s frantic movements seemed to slow down.

"Damn it, you poor bastard, you dare fight back..."

Link took several hits and had completely lost it.

"Fuck you. You want to fight? I’ve never been afraid."

Ryan’s face also showed anger. He charged straight into Link’s punches.

The two immediately tumbled into a brawl, with Ryan clearly getting the upper hand. Link was getting beaten pretty badly.

Security quickly arrived and pulled the two apart, dragging one to the infirmary while contacting their respective advisors.

Yana came rushing over, out of breath. To be fair, she was dressed very conservatively and properly, but her heaving chest still drew attention.

"Are you okay!"

She immediately came up and nervously checked Ryan’s injuries.

He was shirtless, revealing his toned upper body. There were some bruises but nothing serious. Ryan grinned and said, "Ms. Yana, I’m fine. But sorry to trouble you again."

Soon, Link’s advisor from the sports department also arrived—a dark, chubby man. He came in and greeted them politely, his eyes naturally sweeping over Yana’s chest.

He was shocked when he saw Link—his face was swollen and bruised like a pig’s head, his lips cracked and bleeding, with blood and saliva dripping continuously.

The school nurse shook her head and said, "Take him to the university hospital. We can only do basic bandaging here. He also needs to be checked for a concussion."

A big fight right at the girls’ dorm entrance was a major incident, but any disciplinary action would have to wait until Link was treated.

"I’m sorry, Ms. Yana. I’m sorry, Ryan."

On the way back to the dorm after the simple bandaging, Linda was crying pitifully.

"It’s all my fault. Link kept pestering me, so I came up with that stupid idea. I didn’t expect this to happen."

Yana couldn’t help observing Linda, who was clinging to Ryan’s arm. She was definitely a little beauty. Standing together, they really looked like a perfect match.

But this rascal was pretending to be poor at school. Those gold-digging girls probably wouldn’t give him a second look.

They must be just good friends.

Yana didn’t think much of it. She escorted him back to the dorm and said, "Get some rest. I’m going to find our department head right now. We can’t let this slide."

University advisors could be good or bad, but one thing they all had in common was being fiercely protective of their own students.

It was just like military officers—they’d mess with you, tease you, and push you around on a daily basis, but when it came to outsiders, they were total double standards.

And anyway, having a student from their department win a fight against the sports department was a point of pride.

When they sat down to discuss the matter, they could throw a little shade their way too.

Linda was crying nonstop as she escorted Ryan all the way back to the dorm. Wester and Jason had also rushed back.

Wester said, "Damn it, Ryan, you really got dragged into this for nothing."

"Exactly. Motherfucker, we got there too late. Otherwise we’d have beaten that bastard up together."

Jason came over and nervously checked on him too.

They had seen Link before—sports majors were big and tall. Although Ryan wasn’t small either, generally speaking he’d be at a disadvantage.

"I’m fine. Damn, I’m just hungry. Otherwise I’d have turned that pig’s head into a locomotive."

Ryan laughed in response.

Before long, the incident made it to the campus forum’s trending list, with a particularly bizarre headline: "Poor Simp Shield Sparks Firestorm; Devoted Lover Loses First Kiss, Becomes Unwitting Third Party..."

Ryan broke out in a cold sweat reading it. Dude, are you a United Kingdom tabloid? How do you come up with these titles?

Jason laughed out loud. "Nice, rYAN. Now you’re trending all the time. You’re a campus celebrity now."

"Almost the biggest clown at Videl."

Wester chimed in with a laugh.
