Everyone was filled with righteous indignation, but Celeste Linden wasn’t surprised at all; she had always known about Crystal White’s scheming. It was just that their family was utterly shameless in pushing Ethan Barnes to marry her.

Does Crystal White not know that you can’t force love?

"Sister-in-law, rest assured, the boss won’t marry her. Crystal White’s family is nothing to the boss; it’s just Crystal White clinging like a fly. If this goes on, the boss’s reputation will be ruined by her."

"That’s right, sister-in-law, Crystal White is relentlessly pursuing the boss, and we can’t think of any good solutions."

Celeste Linden thought for a moment, then slowly curled her red lips, "I might just have a way..."

"That’s great, sister-in-law; since you have a plan, let’s quickly go help the boss."

She could help Ethan Barnes, but she was afraid Ethan might not appreciate it and might even scold her in the end.

But there was no better solution now, "Alright, let’s go."

...

Crystal White was still in the hospital ward when Celeste Linden walked in. Seeing her, Crystal didn’t pretend anymore; after all, they had already torn each other’s faces off. "What are you doing here? You should stay at home waiting for news; Ethan will soon divorce you."

Celeste Linden smiled, "Are you so sure we’ll get divorced? Aren’t you also waiting for news in this ward right now?"

Crystal White froze.

"Crystal White, I really don’t understand you. You’ve already caused such a fuss with Ethan Barnes, why do you still cling to him? Not to mention he won’t marry you; even if he did, what would it change? Do you really think you can live harmoniously with nothing having happened after marriage?"

"What do you know, Celeste Linden? Even if I can’t have him, I won’t let you! Celeste Linden, do you know how much I love Ethan Barnes? He is a hero in my heart, my god; whenever he goes on missions, as long as he’s by my side, I’m not afraid of any bullets or bombs. I’m willing to die for him!"

Crystal White’s voice grew increasingly agitated, "And you? What have you done for Ethan Barnes? How could you so easily gain his love? I refuse to accept that! You absolutely don’t love him as much as I do!"

Celeste Linden saw it clearly; Crystal White’s feelings for Ethan Barnes were an extreme kind of hero worship, possessiveness bordering on pathological obsession—if she couldn’t have him, she’d destroy him.

Celeste Linden said nothing, only let out a heavy sigh.

"What are you sighing for? Are you laughing at me?" Crystal White glared at her coldly.

"Crystal White, you’ve only seen the heroic side of Ethan Barnes, but you haven’t seen the other side that isn’t known to others. Forget it—it’s a secret between us as husband and wife; I can’t tell you," Celeste stopped short, giving an air of mystery.

Crystal White immediately perked up her ears, "What secret between husband and wife? Celeste Linden, what are you talking about?"

"Forget it, it’s better not to say; I fear it might ruin the perfect image of Ethan Barnes in your heart."

The more she said this, the more Crystal White’s curiosity was piqued, "Celeste Linden, what are you really trying to say? What’s wrong with Ethan Barnes?"

"Alright then, since you’re so eager to know, I’ll tell you. Actually..." Celeste Linden deliberately lowered her voice, "Actually, Ethan Barnes has a physical impairment."

What?

Crystal White was stunned.

"Ethan Barnes was injured before; a crazy woman who liked him stabbed him in a certain place with a knife, which left him disabled."

"Even though I married him, we’ve always had a sexless marriage. He can’t do it."
