Chapter 1090: Inside The Celestial Cloud I

"AVARAN! WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS!? YOU DARE TO TAKE ON THE LIKENESS OF YOUR KING AND COMMIT THIS MADNESS!?"

The old woman shouted in anger towards the attacker! She would recognize this magic essence anywhere! There was only one race in the Primordial Expanse that could possess this type of magic, and she was certain that this man was an Avaran! But the woman was also certain that this was not Richard! This man might look like the previous Avaran King, but the old woman had fought beside Richard many times, and she knew that he would never commit such a mad act! The only explanation she could come up with was that someone else had taken on the likeness of Richard somehow!

But the old woman would realise in the next moment that she was wrong. Because once she mentioned the name ’Richard’, the attacker turned towards her sharply, and she felt a raw, impossible surge of electric fear tear through her body when she saw the fury on his face! She had never felt this much fear before! Not even when she fought against the Primordials all those years ago! The woman gripped her spear tighter and roared as she tried to charge towards the mysterious man, but the man didn’t give her time to attack!

He charged forward and grabbed her spear before pulling it forward and slamming his fist into her nose! The woman saw stars as she was thrown into the air, and she slammed into a pool of blood from one of her comrades! Her vision swam, and there was a ringing in her head just from that one hit!

’H-How is he so strong? I’m a Rank I Primordial, and he’s treating me like a child.’

The mysterious man walked towards her, and the old woman could barely see him through her blurry vision. The man held her holy spear in his left hand, and the hand was already sizzling, so the woman knew he was being burned by the innate holy magic that coated her spear! But it didn’t look like he cared about the pain at all, and he held the spear tight as he approached her! The man reached down and grabbed her by the neck, and the woman gasped in pain as she was lifted off the ground! She was brought closer to face the man, and he sneered in her face through gritted teeth.

"Never compare me to that fool. I am not my father."

SQUELCH!

The sound of skin tearing echoed through the valley as the man drove the spear into the woman’s stomach, and she gasped in pain! Blood flowed down the side of her mouth, and her eyes widened as she immediately realised that she had been wrong. This man wasn’t Richard, and it wasn’t a mysterious Avaran that had taken on Richard’s face! This was the child that had been banished. The only Avaran that was said to be Richard’s equal in battle. This was the Avaran Prince.

"Gregory..."

This was the last word the woman spoke, and in the next moment, she was already dead.

"WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!?"

A loud voice echoed through the area from a far distance away and Gregory turned around calmly and gazed up at a radiant figure approaching the valley at light speed! Mik’hael’s face was twisted in raw anger and his power surged through the entire region like the fury of a vindictive god! The Runic shield around the valley easily shattered under Mik’hael’s overwhelming power and Mik’hael flew straight towards Gregory!

Gregory tossed the dead body away like a rag, and his lips split into a bloodthirsty grin as he turned and began running towards Mik’hael! The runes on Gregory’s body glowed with power as Mik’hael got closer, and Gregory blasted off the ground to meet Mik’hael in the air!

KA-BOOOM!

The entire world rumbled as the two Primordials clashed in furious combat!

[Day 1]

There were not many things in the world that could scare someone like Jason. Right from when he was still only a little boy, Jason had always been very brave and he carried himself with the confidence of someone who was willing to face anything head on without ever showing fear.

But for a split moment between when Jason stood in front of the cloud and when it consumed him, there was a sudden, sharp surge of fear that passed through Jason’s body as he wondered if the [Erasure of Origin] skill would really protect them from death. By many people’s definitions, what Jason was doing right now was practically suicide! Jason was placing his entire hope of surviving against a millennial power capable of eradicating entire worlds on a new magical bond that he just formed with Agiel a few hours ago!! It was madness, and there was no one else who was mad enough to even try something like this!

But then the moment of fear passed just as quickly as it had come, and Jason pushed back all those emotions and focused on the mission! Jason opened his eyes a few seconds later inside a dark region covered in black smoke! There was absolutely nothing around him and it took a few seconds for Jason’s eyes to get used to the thick darkness. But once Jason was sure that he was still alive, he immediately turned to the side and checked on Agiel.

Agiel was taking in deep breaths while looking around as well and Jason could tell that she was still trying to get over the fear she had also been feeling. Although Jason had already managed to master his own fear and push it away, Agiel had not yet calmed down fully, so Jason could feel some of her nervousness through their bond!

Jason held Agiel’s shoulder, and he watched calmly as she took multiple deep breaths to try and relax. Jason knew that they needed ot get moving soon, but first needed ot amke sure Agiel was alright before they could continue the mission.

"Are you okay?"

Jason gave Agiel a worried look as he said this calmly, and Jason was about to make Agiel sit down in case she needed to rest, but Agiel swallowed and then nodded to say that she was fine. It had just been a bit nerve-wracking to willingly enter the Celestial cloud like that! Jason looked Agiel over to make sure she was saying the truth before he nodded and Jason looked forward to try and find a path to follow. There was no direction at all within the cloud and everywhere seemed to simply blend into the same landscape, but Jason knew that the direction that they were facing right now would lead them straight to the other end of the Celestial Cloud, and this meant that they would have to pass through the center of the Celestial! Jason decided to go forward!

"Are you sure about this?"

Agiel asked this once Jason told her his plan, and Jason nodded once as he started walking. Agiel had a slightly hesitant expression on her face, but Agiel could tell that Jason was completely certain of his choice, and she decided to trust him! Agiel simply accepted Jason’s plan and followed him.

The two mages walked for more than ten straight minutes without finding any signs of life. Every now and then, they would run into a few dead bodies lying on the ground, and Jason was always a bit unnerved by how lifelike the dead bodies looked. It seemed like the bodies had simply fallen asleep, but the fact that they were inside this cloud meant that they were already dead!
